Actually, Boba Fett was tasked with finding out who destroyed the Death Star. He encountered Luke on Tatooine, but Luke escaped. However, Boba Fett found out Luke’s last name and reported it to Darth Vader. Vader’s revelation that he had a son shook him to his very core, as he realized that Emperor Palpatine had lied to him all this time. That’s the only reason why Boba Fett lived to see another day.
One minor correction: Obi Wan didnt realize that Anakin was alive, he hid him there because there was barely any empire control there Edit: Also the reason why Vader didn't sense Obi Wan was cuz this took place after a new hope
Not enough people seem to remember that. Obi-Wan thought he left anakin to *die* on Mustafar, burned to a crisp. It was the shock of his life later when he learned who Vader really was. By the time of A New Hope, he *did* know, but had accepted that Vader and Anakin weren't the same person. It was the only way he could hope that Anakin could be redeemed: If Vader died, Anakin's soul could go to the 'good place' in the force.
Also in the (EU?) novel "Dark Lord Rising" when Obi Wan learns that Vader survived Mustafar, Qui Gon's Force Ghost speaks to him and tells him that Tatooine represents everything in Anakin's past that causes him pain & might cause him to reassert himself over the Vader "personality." Thus Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith will avoid going to Tatooine.
That doesn't make sense though. Obiwan DID know that Anakin was given the name "Vader" by Palpatine. You could argue that maybe he thought the next apprentice just kept the same name so they wouldn't need to change the office door sign or something but...that's worse than just the writers forgetting what obiwan should know imo
Vader and Anakin never really had that much of a problem with Watto. Apparently a slave owner has went he was very gentle and kind and also to the fact he helped Anakin find his mother afterward and they didn’t seem to be any resentment or hatred when he spoke to him last.
Oh, yes, I remember this one. Vader composed a rather lengthy message to Watto communicating his upset at his brief stint in slavery and gave an impassioned case for the abolition of slavery in the galaxy. Watto was emotionally touched, the two met and Watto began a campaign of restoring those who had previously been his slaves. It was a touching story of redemption for Watto and when Anakin learned that violence is not always needed in all cases. Very heartwarming tale.
As much as I find slavery a despicable practice, being executed by a Sith Lord seems less like justice and more like poetic justice. For plot reasons, though, this is an appropriate ending as I can't imagine Vader letting his childhood suffering go. He would punish Watto for himself and his mother to break ties with his past.
No Darth Vader never had really much of a problem with Wotto, nor did Anakin really. It was mentioned by his mother in her diary that Wotto was actually a very good slave owner as slaveowners went as he was very kind and gentle. And also he did help Anakin find his mother and there didn’t seem to be any resentment or anger when he last spoke to him. However, Darth Vader may have killed him just as a matter of course anyway, simply because he didn’t want any witnesses. I don’t think it was him though because this dealer although the same species was wearing blue garments, whereas Wotto had a tan jacket on.
Big question to you @star.wars.comics : How strong would Vader have been if he reunited with his own inner self, young Anakin Skywalker and was fully conscious of all his suffering all at the same time? DarthSidious:"What are you doing my apprentice?" LordVader:"I am torturing a persona from my childhood, I brought him with me from Tattooine." -Casual Dialogue on an Imperial Space Station
3:10 how is it the main reason when Obi-Wan didn't even know he was alive? You don't need the Kenobi show to tell you that although that tells you it as well 😅
Of COURSE he knew who Vader was, and that he was quite alive. But he told Luke that "your father was a powerful Jedi .. Vader killed your father." So he straight out lied to Luke in saying that his father was dead, but was true was that Vader had killed him. From a certain point of view!
Yeah in literature or fiction in general there are few TRUE coincidences but it all comes down to reader/veiwer inference and Head Canon. It's Watto to Me. 🤓😎✌🏻
Oh yes Vader most certainly gave Watto a friendly 'visit' Vader at heart hated the in his eyes weak Anakin Skywalker. Vader would want to destroy anything that was such a link to Anakin. Plus Watto was partly to blame for Shimi Skywalker being a slave and her death. So yes I can see Vader force choaking the hell out of Watto
Well, in both Cannons, Obi Wan didn't know that Vader had survived. In Legends, he found out by accident in at the end of the book *Dark Lord : The Rise of Darth Vader* by James Luceno. In the book, it was a few weeks, or almost a month after Revenge of the Sith. He was spying on the Lars family. And he was in a cantina when a news report came on where the journalists talked about the mysterious Darth Vader who seems to now be the Emperor's personal enforcer. And that nobody knew exactly what his role in the New Empire was. He was shocked at seeing that huge black cyborg. That it looked almost like some kind of storm trooper. And in that moment, Qui Gonn spoke to Obi Wan. And confirmed that this was the same Darth Vader as Anakin. You see for a moment, he actually doubted that this monstrosity before him could be the same Vader as Anakin. He thought maybe the Emperor had created another apprentice and named him Darth Vader. He asked if he should be worried that Vader would come down to Tatoine. And Qui Gonn said no. Because he secretly fears awakening Anakin Skywalker again. And then later i think either in Legends or in Disney Cannon they claim that when Darth Vader killed the Sand People, he created a Dark Side nexus on the planet. Which hid Luke from Vader and the Emperor. Basically his light side signature in the force was swallowed up by the dark side. Which is why it wasn't until after Luke destroyed the Death Star, that he began to grow strong in the force, that he finally attracted the attention of both Vader and the Emperor. Now Leia I have no idea how they didn't know. Probably Alderaan is a light side nexus and that's why they didn't know with her. And when she was on Coruscant there's already a dark side nexus there under the Jedi Temple.
Wait a minute...is that abomination of a plot with that Mary sue , Tumblr inspired elite hacker girl that doesn't get forced joked immediately for her antics. The fact that Boba Fett called Vader Skywalker and lives... Just shows the respect Vader has for Boba

@@astrofan1993That’s one way of looking at it - though I like to think that Vader did respect Boba personally.
@@williammorahan4907i like it the other way because Vader doesn’t really respect anyone

Vadar was probably too traumatized, or flooded with memories, by being back on Tattoine that he wasn’t even thinking about Obi-Wan.
Vader and Anakin never really had that much of a problem with Watto. Apparently a slave owner has went he was very gentle and kind and also to the fact he helped Anakin find his mother afterward and they didn’t seem to be any resentment or hatred when he spoke to him last.

Why couldn't Vader sense Obi-Wan's presence on Tatooiine?
Obi-wan would've sensed him coming so he likely hid his presence
Or Luke for that matter?
wasnt thinking about it
At that time, he had still disconnected himself from the Force and was not going out of his way to advertise his presence.

How the hell would waddo even know who dr. Aphra was?
That's a good question. I guess it was more of a wrong time, the wrong place thing.
His name is Watto.
Why wouldn't He? The Underworld can be a small world, information is crucial to good business, and Chelli wasn't exactly a shrinking violet.
She's a criminal and he's got a presence in the criminal underworld, it's not that big a leap... Like at all.
