I have to ask this, Why would they delete knowledge of this creature from the Jedi Archives? wouldnt it be better to know there was such a dangerous threat lurking out there somewhere? This looks like a silly decision to make.
Yet again another lore clip from the man himself! I Seriously thought this topic was going to be about the Starweird, but I guess I was wrong - Also nice to wake up on a Saturday and see Mr. Stupendous uploading 2 videos in within 2 hours.
a sense that the only way to thoroughly wipe out the "nameless" A dark and light side union may be needed. It use fear as a tactic, darksiders would be less likely to succumb to this. While as the jedi may have the calm to prevent them from running into a trap by those that have unleashed it. Perhaps Dathomirians could be of assistance in that matter. or another "Darth Marr" like warrior
Jedi don't really have anything to do with Justice per se. They just serve the will of the force, that may mean implement justice, but that's rarely the case.
If Star Wars were given a proper horror movie or trilogy, these things would help create a believable crisis for the Jedi and Sith to unite around and go after them. Set it 1,000 years into the future. That way we know no one or whether they survive.
The nameless sound terrifying but they aren’t as dangerous as nihilus. Nihilus could drain entire planets of the force and he became more powerful over time. He was a wound in the force and if he wasn’t stopped he would have drained the force from the entire galaxy and left it lifeless then he would have died as his own hunger for force energy destroyed him
Okay so let me break this down while trying not to do a massive essay in the comments. The nameless aren't scary, they're wannabe cosmic horrors. In fact they are clearly based on The Hounds of Tindalos to be specific. The problem is that they way overdid the element where they choose to make you suffer. They put their motivations, confusingly, in entirely understandable terms. Hunger. This is what hardly anyone gets about cosmic horror. Beings in the Lovecraft mythos that are that scary conceptually aren't scary because they want to hurt you. They have no malice towards you at all. They don't even notice you. You are a speck in a vast, godless, uncaring universe and no one can save you if things go awry. Nothing will notice, in fact. The madness experienced by Lovecraft protagonists is brought on by realization of the truthful cosmic insignificance of everything they have or could ever comprehend and the implications thereof, not a big scary monster. I would be more scared of a starving bear or hyena instead of these things in encountered.
Awesome vid stupendous always love these horror lore stories and especially one’s like this were the Jedi have a real reason to be afraid of creatures that can literally suck the living force from the user is just so fascinating
What bothers me when things are called "The Nameless" or such, the moment you give the creature or what ever a name, it no longer is nameless and if the creature or what ever is called "The Nameless" it is its name then there for making its name null...
You know considering fear makes Jedi lose power the Sith on the other hand get stronger making me think its best to use both if possible or at least lean towards the Sith that way you pretty much always have your power.
I really dislike the high republic stuff, but I do kinda like the concept of this critter. Maybe not how it's been handled, but a naturally evolved force hunting predator is neat, plus the cosmic horror vibe.
this kind of action of deleting something from the archive that could be so dangerous to the jedi, makes no sense, are we literally talking about ignoring history so we can repeat it kind of thing? i will never under stand any real world ignoring history cause its "bad" kind of mind set
i wonder, is this a creature that evolved simularly to the beast that hunts the isalamari, is it one of those beasts that was realy twisted by some sith lord at some point, is it a monster that was entierly made out of sith alchemy or some type of manifistation of the dark side or is it a monster simularly to some of the other horrors of the galaxy. Both the jedi and the sith knew about the isalamaris and also the creatures hunting them afther all but they tryed their best to keep the knowledge from the rest of the galaxy because of the danger it possesed to.
So... basically, "canceling" isn't just an absurd, useless thing in our reality Star Wars at least once has used it too... an just like in our Reality... it DOESNT WORK an changes NOTHING... just cuz you "Cancel" something, as Jedi of this period learned the hard way, Nameless ones aren't gonna stop just cuz you pretend they don't exist..
@user-zu5do6ri6r maybe... the video ALSO underlined how it DIDNT work and ALL it ACTUALLY did was caught them in a position to be totally unprepared... an so HUGE amounts of losses, some probably that could been avoided, were incurred. When Yoda an the rest of them actually FINALLY HAD to do what they shoulda done centuries ago an just get it over with taking them down an ACTUALLY wiping them from the Galaxy. Like they THOUGHT they did to the Original Sith an the many nearly as dangerous Sith War beasts an some other natural ones.. an cuz they let fear cloud they judgment they were caught off guard an paid for it badly. Just like the Bane an post Bane Sith that'd nearly wipe THEM from the Galaxy for the 3rd or 4th time.
Literally, they are talking about Demons and the devil, they go by many names, pray on fear etc etc and reason why you can't see or draw them cause they are unimaginable where human can't draw them the concept of what they look like cannot be drawn by human. So they come in different form that a human can compute and draw

Who would win? 1 Darth Nihilus vs a planet full of Nameless vs another planet full of Ysillimari.
Two devour the Force, one cancels out the Force
Interesting 🤔
Darth Nihilus would likely starve on Myrkr…. or be hunted by Vornskrs.
Nihilius cannot consume à palmer instantly, it takes a long time and a lot of effort

Instead of palpatine somehow returning, why not the nameless?
What if these "nameless" were in the lowest levels of croissant? It would explain why is no one is allow or wants to go below level 5.
I won't lie. This is one of the few things I enjoy from the new canon novels.
In this galaxy, the Wendigo.
