100% agree. Great album as an intro to Aesop and would probably be the easiest to listen to start to finish without feeling overwhelmed lol You guys earned a sub btw!
Yeah I get why people don't vibe immediately, but I gave Skelethon another shot when I first found him, he's the best. Probably memorized 99% of Skelethon and Impossible Kid, beautiful lyrics. You can own what you are and still sit around stoned in your car, not doing sh*t, half way to nil waiting for a boss-key and hat full of bills. Get out the car Chris.
The Impossible Kid (2016) Spirit World Field Guide (2020) Skelethon (2012) My top 3 Aesop Rock albums, but he more than hits the mark on Garbology and ITS as well.
@@_Jake.From.Statefarm_ I actually had a random thought while sitting on the porcelain throne this morning: ''Why TF didn't I put None Shall Pass on that list?''
The Impossible Kid would be the optimal Aesop album, IMO. I might go for Float or Labor Days first, but they are not as accessible… Impossible Kid is the most genuine look at Aesop as it is also self-produced, but Garbology, produced by Blockhead, would also be f’n killer on vinyl!!!
This that fresh Aes Rizzle! ITS was last year's offering. And it's a banger, front to back. Over an hour long, like almost all his albums, and consistently dope. This was the first single.
There's no bad Aesop Rock album but although its old now, Labor Days is an underrated classic. This man is just different and in a great way. Tracks like No Regrets, Labor, Daylight, None Shall Pass, Gopher guts, Rings, Shrunk and so many more are some of the best rap lyrics you'll ever hear

DON'T TOY W/ US!! i'v been impatiently waiting for u to do another aesop song for over a year, & if u dont' plan on doing one, just break it to us Aesholes now please. BUT I DO NOT DIGRESS, as for best aesop album... if only one thing could ever be created, my vote wold be for Aesop's album FLOAT, buttt i'd recommend LABOR DAYS to most. i'd choose it over creation of engines, blankets, peanut butter, etc. U guys dig El-P & Aes & him do some dope tracks together, el-p's verses on Rickety Rackety, Guns for the Whole Family. Here's a teaser lyric to get u stoked to listen to him, "my office hours are, noon for 30 seconds, then it' s off into the tempest for berries & buried treaures.Trade tall tales with lepers and lost dogs, swing claws at pinatas and the shapes of all y'alls! Not enough ears are hip to this dude!! Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to get Aesop out to the masses! Let’s get some extreme lyricism into these ears!! ✌🏼
If your getting an album my suggestion would be "The Impossible Kids". Still to this day is an album that I will not skip one track any time I put it on! It is also produced by Aesop himself. Your reaction to Dorks is part of this album also
Aesop reactions are the best. He’s literally Shakespearean. Who else could you sit around with ur buddies and just contemplate the meaning of their lyrics? Maybe not as much on his last two albums, but still. Dude is the master 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you for finally getting around to more Aesop. If I told you this was one of the weaker songs on the album, would you believe it? My vote for full album reaction is also for “The Impossible Kid.” Some of his best work, very vulnerable, digestible and masterful.
Aes is an artist that pretty much requires study, as pretentious as it sounds. He really is a one of a kind MC. There's a study from MIT you can look up that shows a chart of dozens of rappers unique word usage and Aes is at the top. Over 7k unique words used. Truly one of the best
In terms of album reviews, it's a tough call. I think his newer albums are more accessible than some of his older work, but the older stuff is brilliant, so I never know whether to recommend something older, to chart the journey forward...or newer, to provide an easier entry point. So I'll recommend one of each. If you want some foundational Aesop, Float put him on the map, but I think Labor Days is peak early Aesop. For something newer, ITS is tempting, and you'll probably get more Impossible Kid recommendations than anything, but I'll go with Skelethon. That was the first album he cut for his current label, Rhymesayers, and I think it's a perfect bridge between his '00s output and the records he's done since. So yeah, either of those would be excellent starting points, depending on what you're looking for. Young and hungry Aes or older and wiser Aes.

Accessible means people aren't smart enough to pay attention to what Aes is saying and I'm tired of hearing that excuse "Accessible"
Aesop Rock - ITS or Impossible Kid are absolutely album masterpieces
Also most of Aesop's releases are concept albums, its my fav way to listen, rather than just a track here or there.

Labor days all day any day
@David-337dn that was the third one I was debating over. Depending on the day, any one of Aesops could be my favorite. There isn't one I don't like.
Check out Klutz, it's basically him just going insane for like 4 mins straight. It's like pure train of thought consciousness rap
