Thankyou for you good old fashioned mechanical knowledge. I have just done my front wheel bearings on W211 E200K in Australia. Great video for those who are a little apprehensive to do this job. Just follow instructions and be patient and it is relatively easy. Keep these videos coming. Cheerz Stuart from Australia
I have a 99 E320 recently it began to vibrate around 40 or 50 mph it vibrates faster with speed. It has three hundred thousand miles had a full inspection by Mercedes 2 years ago and all the maintenance done. Over the last few days it seems to have progressed getting worse I can feel it in the steering wheel but I can feel it in the steering wheel if I give the steering wheel is slight pull to the right it smoothes out for that second
My excess glob of grease in the center of the hub was untouched and even had an age crack, just like the grease jar did when I opened it. One bearing was black grease. Easy to see the issue. I think Mercedes green means high heat capability.

I have yr 2000 e55 and I jack it up and grab top and bottom of wheel and the left side moves more than the right side, that's a wheel bearings problem.
Thank you brother you just saved me $3,400 that’s how much Mercedes wanted to replace one wheel bearing, cheers mate I appreciate the video
That's crazy. I'm glad to hear I could help out.
even with the price of the original mercedes hub with bearing (350$), that quote seems very wrong

Could be an issue with one of the front bearings loosening up. I would definitely get the front end lifted up and check for any play.

Tip for you put your bearing races in the freezer overnight just makes them shrink just enough to make them slip in easier
I be just done mind and now the tpms keeps tripping but no abs ect...will have to take it off again...
Excellent video tutorial thank you 👌 👍
How's bearing now? still good?
Bearing was still good a year later when I sold the car.

Yes, it sounds like a wheel bearing.
