Nice work boys! Logan is getting into what turns into an addiction. My only advice is, don't overdo it, you SHOULD like it, and if you don't... just buy oil or propane.
If Logan can't save enough pennies before next firewood season for an Eastonmade Ultra, he probably could get the Split-Fire 1165v vertical splitter (another great Canadian company). I think it fills that void in the market between a box store splitter and the entry level commercial splitters. Welcome to the community of wood hounds, Logan. Seems the word has also gotten out in your area, that you have a really fast firewood splitter too. Just make sure Andrew gives you a commission for each Eastonmade splitter you sell.
@@bwillan we’ll see what he ends up with, a lot of good choices out there! I agree though, that splitfire 1165v is a very underated splitter. Fast and affordable for the smaller producer. Saw it at the bunyon show and I was impressed. They definitely hit that one out of the park! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 👍
@@765Guyshi, couple of my friends bought 1165 v’s. they are nice affordable vertical splitters. I have a couple of the original 1165’s. may have to get myself one of the new ones Thanks for the video
Genin, your friend is on his way. Next thing ya know he’ll start selling firewood.😂 Here is my firewood Advice: He needs to cut and split firewood for NEXT YEAR now. Best luck 👍
if getting wood off the side of a road. if you can cut into 8 foot length's and drag with pick up. 20,000 pound yellow strips. learned this after 20 years of cutting and tossing to rig. makes it less work and saves the back.
Leave this years wood outside to dry as long as possible and bring in just before first snow. start cutting and splitting next years wood now. cut and splitt twice as much as you need and sell half to offset fuel and oil costs. get someone like Aaron to show you how to sharpen chain.🤪🤣
How much wood did you figure that you cut in that hour and twenty minutes? I can't believe that's all he uses if he's heating his house strictly with wood. I've got a wood boiler that I've never used yet, but the previous owner of my house said that he used to use between 8 and 9 full cords per year to heat my house.
@@JeffGeorgalas 5 ricks( 5 face cords)He just has a fireplace in the center of the house so it doesn’t consume near the wood a boiler does. He probably needs 5-8 ricks a year.
Buy a dremel. Hand filing is far too slow. Chris at In The Woodyard will show you how to sharpen chains. Don't let the chain get too dull, 2 tanks of fuel max and then sharpen it.
Appreciate the help and advice fellas! Genins been keeping me busy getting ahead!
