    Nice variation on my design. Even setting up the angle.

      Pappa, let me know if I didn't send you the new steel pin. I'll send it to you for free if you still need it.

    • @ThePapa1947
      @ThePapa1947 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you did not send the pin. I just watched your video again and it is fun seeing a lot of my designs being used.
      But I freely share my information on how I make some of the twisted segment turnings and the free hand cutting for cool shapes.
      I remember a few people who worked with me as a wood patternmaker that was not willing to help anyone out with how to get something done. Kind of dumb as we were getting paid to make the patterns and the profit was always better if you could get it done quick and correct.

    Made some bowls with your jig. Board was mix of oak and black walnut. Tip may he been 1/8" above dead center. The cutting went tough. The lathe stopped many times, though I went slow and cleared the chips. Suggestions?

      Paul: I assume you are using my P-Type parting tool. If so, it needs to be 1/4" above center and go straight in. You want the center of the blade to be on the center line of the lathe.

    Ron, how can I purchase your cutting jack? Disregard this request. I visited your website and I will order the package.

    Hi Ron, Nice jig. I just finished building my own using an aluminum block with a tool post and flat tool rest. About haft as mush in cost. But if I had seen this before I would have bought yours. Ron USCG RET

      Ron, you should take a look at our new "P" Type parting tool. It is ideal for use with Bowl From A Board projects. I also just released a Lathe Mounted Disk Sander used to flatten the rings. www.ronbrownsbest.com

    Have you ever tried using your jig on a concaved board, giving you a compound cut?

    • @Ronbrownsbest

      No, but you are welcome to try it for us.

    thePapa1947 You did most of the heavy lifting. Since you declined to make it available commercially (and I have the liability insurance) I thought I would take a stab. The response has been excellent so far. I would be happy to send you one at my expense if you will give me your info. You can find me at ronbrownsbest.com.
