    Dr. Mike Licona is an American New Testament scholar, author, and Christian apologist. He is Professor of New Testament Studies at Houston Christian University,
    Extraordinary Associate Professor of Theology at North-West University and the director of Risen Jesus, Inc. Licona specializes in the resurrection of Jesus, and in the literary analysis of the Gospels.
    What is DIG & DELVE?
    DIG & DELVE is an annual conference in Ottawa that is all about giving people a safe space to engage in discussion and explore deep issues that humans have been wrestling with for a long time.
    One popular worldview promoted in our media is that it is foolish to believe in God. Influential writers disparage those interested in considering the relevance of faith to life.
    Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence. - Richard Dawkins
    At DIG & DELVE we hope to provide an open, honest and respectful environment where people can explore reasons why faith makes sense and why it is meaningful to give consideration to the life and teaching of Jesus. We hope to encourage curiosity and a healthy critical inquisitiveness. People coming from a spectrum of world-views, Christian and otherwise, are welcome.
    At DIG & DELVE, we gather talented experts in their fields to come and share their opinions about deep issues human wrestle with and together we discuss some of the latest research around these questions.
    Expect to be challenged. Join us at DIG & DELVE.

    One thing that will help too is to show that Jesus himself gave Paul the authority to carry on his message recorded in Acts 9: 15-16.

    On a personal level Jesus spoke to Paul on the way to Damascus. Also, Jesus promised send the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us, which He has and the Spirit does.

    No one can prove the resurrection, to another person, except The One who was resurrected. Which goes to the whole point of life in Christ, it is about a personal, one person to another person, relationship of deep intimacy & trust.

    Sorry, but he is missing something in reference to Paul: it’s called the Mystery. He did not teach the same gospel as Peter. Paul was taught by Christ, not men (Galatians 1:10-12). James, Peter, and John gave them the right hands of fellowship (Galatians 2:7-9), but they were still under the gospel of the kingdom, while Paul taught the gospel of the grace of God.

      @The-F.R.E.E.-J. หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're onto something here. Also, Paul & James, in my opinion, do not agree at all. Peter got Paul some, so did John, but no one got grace like Paul. Religious people like to twist Paul's statement, "They added nothing to my faith", to meaning that they were all in perfect agreement but, Paul was saying that they had nothing to offer him - because they were legalistic.

    What scriptures is Paul referring to?

    • @AspiringChristian
      @AspiringChristian  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are dozens which he could be referring to, including this (written approx 800 years before Jesus lived):
      “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
      6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
      7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
      8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.” Isaiah 53

    Did Peter and Paul teach the same Gospel message ?
    Gal 2:7 KJV, Vulgate, Tyndale, Duoay Rheims & more.
    Paul - Gospel of the UNcircumcision.
    Peter - Gospel of the circumcision.
    If these are the same Gospel message why are the titles different ?

    What we haven't got our heads around yet is all the astounding things Almighty God says about the universe, corroborated by Jesus. A God of absolute truth, then, knows all the sciences in the universe and has secreted them within His word for us to discover...Sciences like the Grand Unification of the Four Universal Field Forces. This would explain how the living cell works, replicates, and goes wrong...and Jesus Christ proved that he knows.

    Don’t take me wrong. I am very, very much for apologetic. It has it’s place, and thank God for all of those that can do this job. As a matter of fact, one of the missionary team that I am in, has a doctor degree in engineering science and is a very strong and knowledgeable apologetic.
    However, the best and unbeatable proof of the resurrection of Jesus is JESUS HIMSELF LIVING IN ME, AND IN YOU. When I and you will be able to confidently say along with Paul that “nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me” (Galatians 2:20), people around us can NOT otherwise, but SEE Him ALIVE. What other proof will such a one need anymore?

      @@fullserstorm83When I was able to let go of the premise of "feeling God", I was much more at peace. We are told that converts receive the Holy Spirit, but I had my doubts because of my feelings. I am a very emotional person, turbulent perhaps; however, the truth of the gospel and the assurance of salvation that I finally have understood after many years have shown me that at my core I am a child of God.
      There are times where God has shown up in a mighty way, especially during dark times, but the three words that are moat used in the Bible to describle God are good, able, and faithful. If that is true, I don't need to worry about whether I feel God or not. He simply is there.
      Hope that was clear enough and encouraging. Godspeed.

      You can't reach everyone from that angle though. Not everyone is just gonna believe and have faith based off the Bible. There's so many people that don't even know Jesus was a real person or the amount of historical data for Him. Some people look at things through more evidence based stuff. There's numerous ways God draws people towards Himself, He can use whatever and whoever He wants and that's the beauty of it.

      The point is that “what was written” was far later and many years after the resurrection, but these oral “creeds” were immediately following the resurrection and therefore refute the claims made by skeptics that the Gospel was made up over time.

      @jamestrotter3162 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@davidcloyd1296 It depends on your perspective of " far later". All of the New Testament was written by 70AD, and the Old Testament was completed long before Christ's resurrection.

    6:34 If you want to know more about predestination and election and what St. Paul meant, check with the Catholic Church. That’s the Church Jesus founded. This is found in the Catholic archives, but briefly: predestination is true (but not in a Calvinist way). We have complete free will, which explains the existence of evil (acceptance of a lesser good) with an all-good, all-powerful God. We have free will to make choices, but God always knows what we’re going to pick. It doesn’t make it any less our choice. Any parent who knows the bad choice their kid is going to make - even though it’s completely the child’s choice - will recognize such a scenario. if God created only those who would choose Him, then it would be a false choice. (“Do you want six eggs or a half-dozen?”). Choose wisely. If you’ve made bad choices in the past, be continually reborn in Christ, asking Jesus for the perpetual application of His Precious Blood to your soul for continuing redemption at every moment, lest we fall at any time. Also, you must eat the flesh of Christ to become like Christ. You can find that in Catholic Churches, where it’s called “The Eucharist” (Greek for “True Christ”). This is the Bread of Life, the Manna from Heaven, The Spotless Sacrificial Lamb, The Heavenly Food. Whoever eats this food shall have eternal life. Is this regular food? No! Is this grape juice and wine at the baptist church service? No! It’s the true Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. The Creator of the Universe humbled Himself under the veil of simple bread made from only unleavened wheat flour and water. It’s time to become Catholic. Peace and love. ❤

      Interesting take. How would you describe the nature of God while knowing He is a timeless being and without a reference point to establish the essence of past, future, or duration? Wouldn't predestination be a cognitive construct of a being who is subject to the laws of time? Is it not possible for an almighty being to exist in both dimensions where time is void and where it's present simutaneously...without the need of additional "persons"?

    "If we didn't have the Gospels" vis-a-vis Paul is ridiculous. I read both the Book of Acts and all of Paul's letters last year, and what no one talks about is his visit to "the third realm of Heaven." That is the basis for his conversion. This guy is both snotty and too colloquial.
