I filmed this on the 28 August 2019. I think that this is still quite an attractive town centre and still has great potential. What this town needs a band stand in the park, reopen the Hanbury cinema on the square by the miners heads, bring a Wilkinson's store and an Argos, it can be done with so many empty units.
You may google it, she was born it Factory road under Bargoed viaduct, I didn't film that far but it appears in the documentary "Welsh greats, Doris Hare" . The large ominous property you saw in Cardiff Road was my childhood home, it was called Gladstone Villa, named after the former a prime Minister William Gladstone, no doubt you saw links to other videos regarding this very old building. Bargoed was once a thriving town. A nice place to shop.
