Hi, i am one of the orderly for the flag bearer for one of my unit, thx for putting this video on youtube,it is nice to watch it again. FYI there were gurkha police force at the end on the side of the bridge blocking off the road on the other side.
First of all I want to said Thank you for watching my video, and also want to thank you for burn off your Saturdays to do rehearsals for the NDP24...🫡 to all those involved, and also thanks for your update...as there was road block so I didn't have chance to move over to the other side of the bridge to see if can have some other video angle 😅
at last, we get to see the first NDP rehearsal with some of the lights and fencing being set up for the upcoming f1 race in September after the Padang such as at turn 10 right in front of the old Supreme Court Building and esplanade bridge! this is also the first time to feature a Sikh guard of honour wearing the turban uniform, just like the one at the trooping of the colour in 2018. of course, there are scheduled road closures for the NDP parade rehearsals on Saturdays for the guard march and military vehicle drive past into st andrews road.

Plenty hard work put in.. First combined rehearsal.. When the band plays, the pace should be a tad slower.. Quite normal for this to happen.. Full of gusto! Keep it up guys. Every NDP is not just a parade - it's a journey! By the way..at 0:55. Why is the RSM walking so weirdly? At trail, the pace stick should be maintained horizontal while the normal walking posture is adopted. One doesn't march with the pace stick at the "trail" position. Has the SAF drill book changed this? Just curious.. So he's the trainer, so not part of the contingent. Keeping an eye. Good job - can see how focused he is on his group. Everyone involved in organising/participating in NDP puts in many hours of hard work. Thank you! And thank you for uploading.

So sorry, I only free at night to check the comments...best to go there at 4pm for upcoming rehearsals and previews it gets crowded and you had problem finding good spot to view them.
Firstly no disrespect but why every year will be the commando marching in NDP? We also have Guard, 1-6 SIR and others combat units too. I think we all also serve the country as for me, I already ROD as a rifleman in 6SIR. It's really an honour to march in the NDP as soldier. I understand there is a scorecard in training, IPPT... etc the unit score first got to march in the parade. In my view, should this be change. I respect commando unit, we all serve and salute the same Singapore flag. I just hope in the future maybe others combat unit can march in NDP with pride and honour too.
Thank you for your view on this...yes I understand how you feel and voicing out for the other Army units...if you recall back, we do have a Guards Unit forming the Guards Of Honour at NDP parade, can't remember which year, it was amazing to see brown berets marching in the parade.
@@ASimpleVideoSG I remember that. I'm not saying which unit is elite. All units are important just like without combat engineer how a rifleman or tank goes ahead to the other side of the river.
Proper marching is to dig in your heel, and that’s what the RSM/CSM will be screaming into your ears if you weren’t dug in. An experienced SNCO will know it straight away upon hearing the march. We have to accept this present manner of marching as the soldiers do not spend much time at the parade square.
If I am not wrong they will gather along Nicoll High Way beside Suntec City, which is much easy to view, as I am on the side where the parade contingents gathered, so I not really sure what time they will gather those vehicles on the opposite side...best to go there before 6pm.
Best to go to the Suntec City side, where you can see the mobile column gather and ready to move off...can watch my upcoming video on Sunday 11am 23 June
It was still a rehearsal, those are instructors and marshalers over seeing that the parade was done correctly., think during preview, they will not be there anymore.
