That's the difference between SPF and SAF. The timing for marching are to differentiate the two services. In all honesty, the SPF marching for timing makes it more accurate for them to synchronise. The SPF doesn't have any metal cleats on theirs soles unlike the SAF. Thats where the sound comes from. In fact without the cleats, you can bang as loud if you know the right technique.
@@ehspro Actually you still able to see the red lions landing...you just need to go to the Nicoll Highway Traffic light junction between Suntec City and South Breach watch the red Lion landing, then walk to the overhead bridge to wait for the mobile column...you will have enough time for that.
Can't remember if you participated in any CoC/RSAF Day parades where I was involved (unlikely NDP cuz alternate years different formations)..I usually get the shit job of doing the basics. There was a PLA CoC I assisted in where I deliberately slowed down the pace and I could hear people grumbling "so slow meh?" Objective was to see their sync since it was the first time they're together as a parade. All they had to do was "follow my timing" and I never called "left, right, left, right, left, right, left.. Then become left, left, left, right, left". Called the "left, right' out for the fullv duration of one round the square. Honestly, it's quite demanding physically..😎🤣
I wasn't involve in any of the parade, I was the unit photographer, so I am there snapping photos during the unit CoC Parade.😅 It is true quite demanding for them...and with the number one uniform...they are suffering by just standing there with our humid weather, not to mention marching.

Its a 2nd rehearsal...there were still many confusion there, I didn't filmed them down...those red Polo coordinators still trying to make things work smoothly 🙏🏻
The enciks or the WOs wearing No1 also do not perform the drills properly. If you watch the RSAF ME uncasing the flag 7:51 , his drills are sloppy. I used to be a drill instructor and it is really an eyesore to see his kanan pusing. Call himself a "Military Expert" but sloppy drills. Such an embarrassment still got the cheek to wear No1.
could the red T-shirt "escorts" stay far away from the contingents, they were not part of them. they were an eyesore. one even walked between the contingent commander and the contingent.
@@bennysamuelkoh9463 They really need to discipline themselves and not wander around too much, in order to maintain the dignity of the entire ceremony.
@@bennysamuelkoh9463 understand, but they have to stay further away. a ceremony is a show, the organizer has to learn how to take care of the minute details to make the show looks good and dignified.

They are marshallers and safety officers ...very important to look out for dangers. Ensure no one is in the way of vehicles
