    Just wanted to throw it in here but most Smiths with BOA allow you to take the earpeaces off without removing the BOA. So you can keep all the safety aspects of the helmet intact. Personally the ability to customize the layers on my head/face is huge especially with variable conditions. I also think I can hear a bit better without the ear peaces and think that outweighs the little added protection. Also like being able to lift my goggles onto a dry mask and prevent the moisture from my helmet making its way onto my skin. But its all preference whatever works and is comfortable.

      Wear the regular way its the most popular comfortable and safe way

    • @Snanemal
      @Snanemal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@xxx_epic_sniper_xxx2.021 Definitely not the most comfortable. The main reason to remove the stock padding and wear your goggles underneath are 1. Being able to customize your layers. Personally, I like to wear a thin poly beanie that is water-wicking and doesn't trap moisture with a thin fleece or wool neck warmer over the beanie and over my ears, but on colder days Ill throw on some thicker layers. 2. Keeping your goggles dry. Being able to lift your goggles and place them on your dry beanie will make it a lot less likely for them to get foggy beyond no return. Ideally, if you have mag lenses just pop them off and keep them in your chest pocket. 3. Better mobility, less weight, and better hearing.

    I do the mix. No ears + a beanie under the helm, but the goggles go over. Don’t get it how you put them in and put them up. My helm sits rather tight (and I don’t want it loose) so I just can’t do it

    • @AlexanderKontsevoy

    To me it’s the opposite: the googles outside the helmet looks professional, clean and manifests less preoccupation for trends. The googles inside are not practical and it’s less safe (pads removed!). In my eyes it looks very teenager, even childish, and so cluttered (pads are removed but instead you put a beanie plus a baklava), it’s complicating things for just a different look (I think a lot has to do with making a difference with skiers). Those ‘rad’ guys are using the baklava even in spring when it’s so warm that they only wear a t-shirt… it’s all non-sense for the sake of appearance. I think you should have your own personality and wear it ‘your’ way. That’s the ultimate radness :)

      You have a good point. I don’t quite remember when I started wearing my goggles inside my helmet but I always left the padding in since it’s the part of the helmet that prevents concussions. I’ve found it just as comfortable but I guess it’s just a habit and part of my style.

    • @Snanemal
      @Snanemal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some goggles have a clip on the back of the strap meant to make it easier to clip and unclip them over your helmet. If that's what you're referring to I hate to tell you there's no way around it unless you buy a strap without it.

    • @AlexanderKontsevoy
      @AlexanderKontsevoy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Snanemal most (if not all) goggles have plastic guides that allow you to adjust the strap length on the back, and they get pushed into your head when wearing under the helmet. Of course it will not be an issue if your helmet is too large and allows a thick beanie to be fit under it, but in that case it provides less protection.

    To wear ur helmet the “rad” way, does one have to buy a helmet that is slightly larger than what you’d normally wear to allow for the beanie and the size adjustment system to fit under the helmet?

    • @boom1481
      @boom1481 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of helmets are adjustable, so if it fits too small with the beanie then try to make it wider in the back of the helmet (the little circle)

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people are able to remove the liner in their helmet to better fit with a beanie, but we're pretty sure Kevin had to size up to also be able to also fit his hood balaclava under it comfortably. Keep in mind that many helmets use velcro to hold the helmet liner, and that velcro may stick to your beanie!

    • @Snanemal
      @Snanemal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find that I usually size down, once you remove the padding at least. For reference though I use super thin fleece or poly blend layers that keep me warm and are as slim as possible under the helmet.

      I agree, plus the liner is gonna be warmer than a beanie anyways, and it's not like you're gonna see the beanie. And I also don't quite agree with them wearing the goggles inside the helmet, you're pushing the entire helmet up just to place the goggles on your forehead which is gaper itself. The only significant difference I notice between "rad" and "dad" honestly is just the balaclava, that's literally it.

    Goggle over helmet is still better as you can just prop up your goggles on the lift.

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was a missed opportunity! Honestly, it is pretty straight forward. It just takes a bit of a tug to remove them and a bit more force than you may think to re-install them.

    Yea, wear a beany with folds, and hard plastic google strap parts between your head and helmet. Makes so much sense for comfort and protection...

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We've found that we are more in agreement with your these days. All goggles are built with helmet compatibility that actually makes it less ideal for non-helmet use and certainly less ideal for under the helmet.

    • @evil_twit
      @evil_twit 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sportrxeyewear I do get the style though. Safety wise wearing a beany under a helmet is like wearing a thick jacket with a seatbelt. One's head (or body) will compress the beany (Jacket) while you accelerate and then your hear (body) comes to a sudden stop.

    You can’t defend wearing a helmet like that lol. #1 it looks ridiculous #2 it completely defeats the purpose of things like mips or koroyd/wavecell technology. To each their own I guess but I sure wouldn’t want to smack into the ground and absorb most of that impact because I’m not wearing the helmet properly lol
