💬 I’ve been waiting well over two years to do this song out of complete respect for my fellow compilation creator, Derek Brooks. He did an amazing mashup to this song back in November 2021. If you have not seen it yet, please go check it out here: th-cam.com/video/4BQUnoVBSto/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gJfcdAytpG7RZS2A Life has been smacking me upside the head the last couple of months but I don’t know what I would have done without this amazing distraction. 2:01 Love, Love That nostalgic clip tie-in with Chester (I). Humorously memorable. I like the pre and post song reaction clips on this one a lot too. It feels like a best of the best reactions complication in a well edited groove. Well Done, You.
As a young black man growing up in Southern Florida, this was one of those songs I heard when I hung out with my white friends who listened rock. When this came out, I was 16 years old, had only listened to R&B at that point...then BAM! Rush...that was the start of me enjoying rock...classic rock.
@ if you have to ask, you don’t need to know. As a black teen growing up in a predominantly black neighborhood, I didn’t have access to this form of music. Don’t turn a positive into a negative.
My ex husband is the biggest Rush fan, and my kids surprised him for his birthday and got a piece of the floor from where they produced that song in this video!!!! We have it framed. 😊

RUSH is THE PERFECT EXAMPLE of the fluidity of MASTERING TIME SIGNATURES! You killed it again, WonderMommaOG. Thank you. I can't believe people are just discovering a band I've been listening to since middle school over 40 years ago.
Three musical & magical geniuses creating their incredible pieces. Always good to hear their works of art. Appreciation to you WonderMomma for sharing this one!
Fantastic OG, and so very glad you created it. I have watched Derek Brooks ... numerous times,... Steel sharpens Steel ... and leads to great tributes to the best music . All is good when so many from all over can agree . and the rest of us can witness.
The thing that has always impressed me the most is the way Rush performed with such intricacies and precision and power while cranking out so many unique and beautiful sounds truly masterful 🤘🎸❤️🔥
My favourite band from the age of 14, I’m now 56! Love these guys so much, thank you for this Momma. Got to see them live here in the UK, Canada and in Tampa, USA on their final tour (R40). RIP Neil, your drumming & lyrics inspired so many people. If you want to dive into some earlier songs, please check out Xanadu from the Exit Stage Left live tour. Lots of reactions to that track. Thanks again ❤
I'm a 70's grad, we didn't have to be sold out for just one band, we had a buffet of great music we could choose from. Monday could be Rush, Tuesday Yes, Wednesday Boston 14:25 , Thursday Frampton, Friday Led Zepplin, Saturday Fleetwood Mac, Sunday Pink Floyd.......could go a whole month listening to a different great band every day. All different genres, some blending genres together forming their own genre.....Steely Dan the most notable "mixer". All before digital tools like Autotune and mixing software. Most bands did their recordings as a group live in the studio, usually only re-tracking vocals or mistakes.
Yet another outstanding compilation video, Momma!! Rush is one of my favorite bands, and one of my favorites to see people react to for the first time. Even people that might not know much about music recognize Neal's greatness and most are amazed that the wall of sound they're hearing is coming from only 3 guys! "Tom Sawyer" seems to be a pretty common entry level Rush song, much like "The Pot" for Tool, but usually is just the beginning of the rabbit hole. Take care Momma, and I'm so sorry about your cat. Looking forward to your next project ✌️
All that amazing sound from 3 incrediblely talented guys. Sweet candy for the ears. Their messages r always so on point. LEGENDS! Thanx so much Momma, hope ur holding up, take care, Peace
I love Rush! I saw them in Birmingham, AL, in 86. BOC opened for them. Such a great concert. Thank you! I love watching people react to the music I love! Tom Sawyer is one I love! We were spoiled for choice in music in the 70s and 80s. We took it for granted too.
RUSH entered my life when I was 16 back in 1974 and saw them four times and the rest is HISTORY..Us Boomers saw the best bands in History, and you all missed it..
How lucky we were. ❤❤ Saw almost all the bands back then. Best concert I ever went to was Pink Floyd's " Dark Side of the Moon" in 1973. Blew my mind. Elton John I saw 5 times. He ages like a fine wine. Led Zeppelin 5 times too. Wish I could go back in time & see them all again. Can't forget Bowie. Saw him twice. ✌️🌻🌻
Fantastic job. Rush were such a special band man, love seeing people reacting to this one, especially first timers. I was fortunate to see them live 13 (lucky!) times all in Toronto at various venues. Fond memories of half a dozen at Maple Leaf Gardens. Thanks for this!
These mashups really capture the excitement of hearing a song for the first time in a way a single reaction just can't (although I love the single reactions too)! Thank you so much for these, along with your touches in the making-of section at the end!

My favorite Neil Peart story-
His mother once asked him why he never smiles during gigs.
"These songs are hard to play right, Mom! I have to focus."
