This lesser-known spot helps give Colorful Colorado its name!
The paint mines near Colorado Springs, Colorado are one of our favorite places to visit for a few different reasons. Driving up to the mines is always a cool experience because for a while you're just among plains and a small town. Then, out of nowhere, the ground opens up and pastel colors paint the valley. The surprising nature of the mines is one of the reasons we love visiting so much!
In addition to this, there never seems to be many people around which makes for a nice and peaceful stroll around the park. It includes multiple parking lots and numerous trails to explore which further disperse the already few people you are sharing the views with.
These relaxing walks around brightly-colored rocks are something we hope you enjoy too and get the chance to see! Thanks for watching!

Having graduated, several decades ago, from Peyton High School, this was nostalgic. Though I never heard "Calhan" mentioned...I might have missed it. Plenty of cars back in the day...at night 😂
