  • It’s like the Maldives but in Malaysia!
    This video is a little different than our others because normally we find our stays by sorting by lowest price on airbnb. This time, however, we decided to enjoy the southeast asian beaches to the fullest by getting an overwater villa on a private island in Malaysia!
    These villas are reminiscent of those in the Maldives but are significantly more affordable. We did decide to cut costs by eating ramen the whole time though… luckily breakfast was included in our stay!
    Our villa was absolutely incredible and boasted breathtaking views of the neighboring islands. These views could be appreciated by means of the balcony, the bath’s wide open windows, and the other 10 or so windows throughout the small room!
    Outside of our room there was no shortage of things to do, including tennis, kayaking, beach swimming, pool swimming, and much more. They also had a few restaurants around the island but we only made it to the included breakfast because we already had some sticker shock from the base price 😂
    Overall this was an epic stay and we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to experience it. We hope you enjoy our little tour!

    We've had our eyes on this place in the past, but haven't ever been in the area. Maybe we'll finally have to give it a try the next time we are in Malaysia, it looks awesome. And of course as bird nerds we were excited to see the Hornbills, they are such awesome birds. We've seen them in Singapore and Thailand but I don't think we've ever seen one in Malaysia. So cool!

      There are plenty in Malaysia especially Sarawak they also got the giant/rhinoceros hornbill. There's a reason why hornbill is our national mascot/bird.

    This island has been forgotten by local tourists who do not come here, most of them go to Langkawi or directly to Thailand

    Pangkor laut is a private island. If not mistaken the late Pavarotti and Joan Collins have been there. In the east coast, there is another private island, RAWA

    This island not only not known to foreign tourist, the local tourist also dont seem interested to go there.May be its not well promoted or they just want that place to be like that.Only for small numbers of visitors to preserve the nature of the island.

    I'll now use the end footage to lodge a report with teledera. In case you don't know, it is a malaysian hotline to call for reporting child and domestic abuses! 😤
    In the meantime you two lovebirds can go ahead and fully enjoy your stay in malaysia. Take care and have fun! ✌️

    For a resort that is 30 years old it's quite well kept even though its not quite recognisable to foreign tourist..not sure what went wrong maybe the location or room price it failed to attract more travellers unlike Langkawi and Perhentian Island

      @hellomartywoods หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s the price, and it’s a private island. Langkawi and Perhentian are affordable for everyone.

      It is not easily accessible to this resort and island itself.
