I think even the sign you showed is outdated. We just did this climb, exiting the Incline onto Barr trail where you showed nets ~4 miles total (including Incline). I think there's an "older" section which you can get to by simply continuing forward past the top of the stairs. It's another ½ mile on a beautiful, wide trail, with a bit more climbing. This dead ends at the Barr trail which you can take back to the trailhead. This got me ~5 miles and aligns with the signage and things you read online.

Hello what is the elevation from where your from? I live at an elevation at 3,100ft but am staying in a cabin at 11,000ft and am wondering if I should be concerned about altitude sickness
The elevation difference between where I am from and Pikes Peak is a little over 13,000ft. But I wouldn't worry to much, after a while you start getting slowly used to it. That being said I would consider myself pretty fit.
At the visitor center, you can grab a map of the whole park. There you'll see all the parking spots and all the trails you can visit with your own car. Or they also have tours there at the visitor center. We spent about 3 hours at Garden of Gods and only saw the main attractions and hikes. But you can easily spend a whole day there. But to be fair, we move rather quickly with all our trips 😅💪
Thanks for nice video and trips and tricks. We are planning to visit Labor Day weekend. Same day planning to visit Garden of Gods and Pikes peak. Hence will be doing major attractions only
The air at 14K feet is NOT heavy, it's light (less oxygen). That's why you need to breath heavy because your body/lungs need to adjust to the altitude.
You are absolutely correct buddy! Because I didn't have enough oxygen from the "light" air I struggled with finding the right words to explain how it feels 🤪😅
With Cheyenne Mountain Zoo you want to get there first thing in the morning - the animals are much more active. I hope your train engineer was my friend Dave. He’s a really cool dude with a lot of stories.
Stumbled upon this video after trying to find more information about Garden of the Gods. Awesome list of stuff to do! One thing that is a little disappointing to me is the lack of national parks in Colorado. Tons of beautiful scenery that should be in the NPS! Oh well at least most of them are free.
Seven Falls has lost ALL its charm! All of it. I had been there 3 times before returning last month. Just wow omg they have ruined the experience so much. If u drive up there they turn u around and give u directions to drive to a parking lot so a shuttle can pick u up. U have to drive 15 minutes (that's if no traffic) back into town to a lot.might not seem like a lot, get in your car and drive for 15 minutes. It's a long ways away. In the lot u will see a sign telling u approx how long u have to wait. Ours said 1 hr but fortunately it was just a 50 minute wait. Evidently 1-2 hours is common. Why so long? Bc they have 2 small shuttles and that's it. So already really dumb. Then the shuttle drops u off and u have to walk UP a road for at least 30 minutes before u get to the falls. I had to ask people coming back down to make sure I didn't miss a path somewhere. I had a 2 year old with me. If it was just me I wouldn't mind the walk. But why can't the shuttle just drive u up? There were people on our shuttle that I never saw at the falls, elderly etc... hang with me I'm not even too the part that is so dumb. So they used to light up the falls at night with 7 different colors. The retention pond? next to the restaurant and gift shop was lit up and it all just uses to be full of people enjoying themselves. If they light it up now u would never know it. Why? Bc they usher u out around 6:30ish bc they have to make sure u get back down to catch a return shuttle. Maybe if u hike in there or something u could stay but when I went we were the last ones up by the falls. So ok kind of cool bc we had the place to ourselves but of course everything is closed up and no people so it totally kills the vibe. And of course the falls aren't lit up. If it was waterfalls on a scenic trail than I'd probably prefer to be a alone and enjoy nature. But that's not what this place is or ever has been. It's just not the same, won't b back. At least I can look at my refrigerator magnet I've had forever that shows the beautiful colored lit up falls. Oh and the wait for the shuttle on the way back was 1 hour. Crazy bc like I said we were the last ones to leave so wonder how long those people had been waiting down at the bottom? Had a smile on my face the whole time but inside was just like wtf happened here???everyone knows the best time to visit was always evening so u could experience both the day and night version of the falls. It's in a canyon so it's not like the change took long at all.used to be native american shows and stuff too right next to the base of the falls but of course u get up there now and just nothing. Just too bad all around.
Oh wow, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with 7 falls. We went there during the day so I didn't even expect there to be any lights. Also we waited no longer than 20 minutes for the shuttle both ways and they dropped us off right by the gates to the park. Maybe it's different now 🤷♂️
@@travelwithbo I grew up in Colorado Springs, and all us natives (we lived right next to Manitou Springs) hated that race! It’s very disruptive to Mother Nature. I claim native status because my Dad and Mom moved back to Colorado Springs when I was a baby. Our home backed up to The Garden of the Gods (103 Arnold Drive). The house had a huge picture window that looked right out at Pikes Peak.
Having lived here in Colorado Springs, off and on, for the last 48 years, most of locals know these Anasazi Indian dwellings are B*lls*it. They built them back in the 30's and 40's for tourist dollars. If you want to see real ones, go to south-western Colorado where they have 50-60 of them. They have guided tours led by a park ranger. That's why you are allowed "unsupervised" in the C.S. cliff dwellings because everyone knows they're b.s. Garden of the Gods was a sacred site by local Native American tribes and they would not war against each other, or, build there. Fun fact however, Red Rocks and Garden of the Gods are part of the same rock formation that stretches 100 miles from Denver all the way down to Canon City.
When I first read up on those Cliff Dwellings I knew they are "fake replicas" for tourist. But still kinda interesting to see, especially for an immigrant from Europe that knows about Native American Tribes only from Western Cowboy Movies 😬😅 What places would you recommend to see the real ones?
Mesa Verda National Park in the extream south-west of Colorado. Some of the park even goes down into New Mexico. The "four corners" area is going to take any study of Indian culture to the next level and you can really feel it to. Canyon De Shelly, Arches N.P. in Utah, Salt Flats, of course, Grand Canyon N.P. are all much better at showcasing Native American history.
Just don't do the tourist traps they hit you for alot of money, going to pikes peak and seven falls, the cave of the winds, going to Manitou springs, all tourist traps, don't do it save your money
For the sake of seeing as much as possible in 4 days we did all of those 😅 some were priced appropriate, but some are definitely a little pricey for what it is. But no real regrets here. Colorado Springs has definitely some very cool free stuff to offer. You can take your car up to Pikes Peak instead of the Cog Railway, the Manitou Incline is free if I remember correctly, tons of free hiking too...
Yes, I know. But it was still interesting to see. But honestly the view and drive up to the mountain were almost even cooler to experience. Very pretty and scenic! At least for me...
Gotta call out the irresponsible climbing in your video because it’s off limits without a permit which can be signed at the visitor center. Hire a guide or know how to rock climb. Don’t be another tourist death or injury. Definitely don’t do what this guy did. Next, no you didn’t come down 7 miles from Barr Camp. Top of the incline is 2.25 miles down Barr. Anything outdoor related, don’t follow this guy or you’ll get hurt. Call a running store, guide service or REI for professional info regarding trails.
I really didn't have the same experience as you 😬 there weren't even that many people there when we went. Also it's a huge park with tons of different hidden trails. Didn't put all of them in the video, but definitely enough room for everyone and even some privacy if needed

@@Dianderson1816 ahhhh Christmas day. That could have been it I suppose. Colorado springs isn't a small city, maybe alot of families in town or something. I mean it's free and it's right there u don't have to drive up into the mountains or anything

I would probably look for an AIRBNB closed to the places that you want to see with 4.5 star reviews or more.
@@travelwithbo thanks
What month did you all go?
It was at the beginning of May 🌞
How long it takes to see hike and site seeing in Garden of Gods?
At the visitor center, you can grab a map of the whole park. There you'll see all the parking spots and all the trails you can visit with your own car. Or they also have tours there at the visitor center. We spent about 3 hours at Garden of Gods and only saw the main attractions and hikes. But you can easily spend a whole day there. But to be fair, we move rather quickly with all our trips 😅💪
Thanks for nice video and trips and tricks. We are planning to visit Labor Day weekend. Same day planning to visit Garden of Gods and Pikes peak. Hence will be doing major attractions only
If you plan it right and stick to the plan it's very doable. Are you going up Pikes Peak in your car or with that train?
@@travelwithbo most likely with our own car at pikes peak
@@ptalukder oh I see. Then it'll be easier to stay on schedule. Have fun
Yeah, it was a bummer we didn't make it into the zoo. Never thought a zoo can sell out. We got there first thing in the morning too!
Stumbled upon this video after trying to find more information about Garden of the Gods. Awesome list of stuff to do!
One thing that is a little disappointing to me is the lack of national parks in Colorado. Tons of beautiful scenery that should be in the NPS! Oh well at least most of them are free.
When we went to Colorado we did not expect to find this much Beauty there in just one spot - Colorado Springs 🤩
Thank you for the kind comment 🙌
more pushups! :)
Always More 💪🔥😜 you'll find some pushups in almost all my travel videos 😅
Maybe it's different now 🤷♂️
In June there is the Pikes Peak Hillclimb...Cars racing for the best time up Pikes Peak
That sounds pretty interesting to see 🚗⛰️
@@travelwithbo I grew up in Colorado Springs, and all us natives (we lived right next to Manitou Springs) hated that race! It’s very disruptive to Mother Nature. I claim native status because my Dad and Mom moved back to Colorado Springs when I was a baby. Our home backed up to The Garden of the Gods (103 Arnold Drive). The house had a huge picture window that looked right out at Pikes Peak.
Sorry, I just now noticed your comment reply. That sounds like an amazing view from your home.
But still kinda interesting to see, especially for an immigrant from Europe that knows about Native American Tribes only from Western Cowboy Movies 😬😅
What places would you recommend to see the real ones?
Mesa Verda National Park in the extream south-west of Colorado. Some of the park even goes down into New Mexico. The "four corners" area is going to take any study of Indian culture to the next level and you can really feel it to. Canyon De Shelly, Arches N.P. in Utah, Salt Flats, of course, Grand Canyon N.P. are all much better at showcasing Native American history.
@@daveb.4268 that's awesome, thank you Dave 👍
To @daveb.4268: I didn’t know that Fun Fact, and I was raised in Colorado Springs, so many thanks!
Don't forget the Air Force Academy.
Yes. We heard that the Academy is also a great place to visit. Unfortunately we never got there. Hopefully next time 🙌
red rocks and 7 falls need to go at night
I think that would look awesome 🙌 maybe one day when I come back there
Just don't do the tourist traps they hit you for alot of money, going to pikes peak and seven falls, the cave of the winds, going to Manitou springs, all tourist traps, don't do it save your money
I thought the Manitou springs cave dwellings were replicas
Yes, I know. But it was still interesting to see. But honestly the view and drive up to the mountain were almost even cooler to experience. Very pretty and scenic! At least for me...
They are
Gotta call out the irresponsible climbing in your video because it’s off limits without a permit which can be signed at the visitor center.
Thank you for your comment Dan
Do NOT walk back down the incline. it's not advised and causes the foot traffic to slow down and get all bunched up.
Yeah, we went down the long way around the mountain. Beautiful views and trails 😍🏞
Best thing you can do is leave as soon as possible.
Thank you for letting me know
colorado springs area is to restricted and not recommended
What do you mean by too restricted?
Done Please
Garden of the gods is the most crowded and over rated place in the world.
I really didn't have the same experience as you 😬 there weren't even that many people there when we went. Also it's a huge park with tons of different hidden trails. Didn't put all of them in the video, but definitely enough room for everyone and even some privacy if needed
Bo ive been on christmas day while it was snowing and there was still a bunch of cars. Today there was traffic all the way out of the gate and it was full of instagrammers taking ass pics
@@Dianderson1816 🤣😂 instagramer's taking a$$ pics and youtubers like me talking into a camera 😅
If I remember correctly we were there on a Thursday midday. Obviously there were tourists there. But my experience was that when you walk further away from the main parking lots inside the park itself, it's not too bad 🤷♂️
Maybe I was just lucky 🤞
Lol just no. Are there people? Sure. But it's so beautiful! I was just there in August multiple times. Over rated? Not even close
@@Dianderson1816 ahhhh Christmas day. That could have been it I suppose. Colorado springs isn't a small city, maybe alot of families in town or something. I mean it's free and it's right there u don't have to drive up into the mountains or anything
To bad I live here
Why do you say that? 😅
I live here. It's nice, if you can handle vagrants, drug users/dealers, shitty drivers, tyrant police, and fuckin karens.
Other than that you'll find some, very kind and helpful people!
Took the words right out of my mouth.
We were there only for 4 days total. Luckily I didn't come across any of those 😅 only good people and awesome memories here 🙌
