I saw a study on ancient human bones and apparently the majority were stronger than an Olympic athlete, and were damn good at what they did (hunter-gathering), how else did we start agriculture without immediately being swarmed by every predator imaginable, we were the apex predators back then.

This was an AMAZING story and I loved every bit of it! At one point I had to stop listening and go get the original posts to read because it was going a bit slow for me and I wanted to binge lol! That being said, loved every minute! Depending on which sci-fi trope you want to subscribe to, the children would either be hybrids where the males don't develop night vision but the females do, adopted, mixed clones, or other such scientific wizadry. Personally I don't let science and facts get in the way of my head canon when it comes to stories, so I really like the idea that they are legitimate children :P No matter which way you slice it, loved the story, loved the pacing, loved the ending, although I would have liked some kind of memo on what happened with the deathworlds being introduced to the rest of the galaxy or how that was handled, but overall very well done story. I've been binging a lot on short stories from the "humans are space orcs" genre for the last few days (recently discovered for me) but this is one of my absolute favorites so far ^ . ^
