This lecture is going to need several viewings to get a handle on all this information. Glad to see the level of scholarship being presented to the general public.
Dr. Wise, you seem to not feel well, I hope you are okay and will see a Doctor. Been watching you for many years and love your teaching, but strongly sense that you are not feeling well. I will be praying for you. 😥
I’ve noticed that as well. In his earlier videos he seems to have more energy and excitement. Praying for him if there is anything wrong for he is a great teacher.
Just found this channel. I was educated at a Christian school just south of you, Toccoa Falls Institute now College. So glad to see people speaking the truth regarding the teachings of The Holy Scriptures. I’m old but still pray for the people of God. Your work is appreciated and expect to see you soon in The New Jerusalem. Shalom

@dougblalock5175 So you believe that Noah got 13 million terrestrial creatures, including dinosaurs on his ark for few months ? continuity would also be held if ONE fossil crossed the boundary between layers as has been shown with fossilized trees still standing vertically across layers. you know... over millions of years! amirite?
One causation of the mass extinctions AFTER the flood would be volcanic eruptions.... like the one about 536 AD (per the Javanese Royal Chronicles) where the volcano later known as Krakatoa exploded, causing a massive tsunami that destroyed a large city on an isthmus that used to connect Java and Sumatra, digging out the current channel between the islands, and caused a decade long volcanic winter in the northern hemisphere. This was the final straw for many civilizations, as farms failed, cities either starved or people left looking for food, barbarians attacked looking for food and fodder for their animals, scholars and artisans died without passing on their knowledge and skills and the Dark Ages began in Europe. In Britain, this is the time that is remembered as the dearth of the land during King Arthur's reign - whether he existed or not, the dearth was remembered. It took about ten years for the weather in the northern regions to return to normal... so survivors were forced to be hunter gatherers.
Dr Wise, by common faith (Praise the Father, in Christ!), I'm confident of the congruency between the Scriptural and natural ("general") revelations, so we share the conviction of their unified witness. I'm 70 and, though I'm not versed in the science, I've been captive to an interest in fossils from my early years--well before the popular advent in the late 1970's of "creationism" and specialized scholars such as yourself. Your apologetic efforts are welcome enhancement to an understanding of the ready evidences which have fascinated all peoples since the Great Flood events. In this particular presentation, I think you might have used illustrative imagery and diagrams to greater effect than technical jargon and physical mannerisms to depict your notion of continuity / discontinuity. I heard what you said and saw what you did, yet more than once struggled to decipher the intended 'objects' of either... Though you've been at this for years and enjoy worthy credentials for your understanding, I think a good script, captioned illustration and off-camera narration could more directly engage a broad-ranging audience; an hour is a hefty span over which to maintain even an interested audience's rapt attention--but we all know the subject is worthwhile and capable of such an accomplishment.

The ice event was because we lost the insulation value of the water vapor layer of our atmosphere during the inundation. Water levels were flood-high, and all areas away from the newly warmed equator would have frozen. However, without the same mentioned layer, we had less filtering of solar and cosmic radiation, and much more importantly, we had a different focus of solar energy, narrowing its focus toward the current equator and away from the poles, and also focusing more heat on the average surface elevation, but less on higher and lower elevations. This resulted in polar ice caps and mountaintop ice, and glaciers, freezing but then slowly melting. More surface water and higher temperatures cause more evaporation, so over time we end up with more insulation in the atmosphere, even if very unevenly distributed. The reason for the inaccuracy in pre-flood radiometrics is the huge difference in how much radiation was able to make it to the earth's surface at various times. It would have had changing levels of variables based on the changing levels of atmospheric water vapor. content.
@cosmictreason2242 no, I don't. I believe that the evidence that many read as an ice age should be understood differently. I have an alternate paradigm model that fits the evidence better, but it is complex. Perhaps before I die, I'll publish my work.
It is so refreshing to see a geologist researching catastrophism and not just solely to see if there is any "fossil" fuels to be extracted. It would be good for young people to study under this professor as he has an open mind and is following the science.
We can’t actually prove that. What we can show is no death for MANKIND-Human-with cognitive consciousness, of Adam’s creation and lineage, before Adams sin. Also, to say “no death before sin” must then also explain the eating of living things (plants) before sin.
The third or fourth stage of this project will need to involve transpositioning all of the locations from the modern world to the approximate corresponding location on the Pangea, Pannotia and Rodinia continent maps or adjacent ocean and looking for patterns. Were fossils occur in plate sutures we can rule out that being preflood continent, though that may still be a problem if they are microorganisms. As per Dr Tas Walker's theory of fossiliferous sutures. Land species deposited in a pattern on or just off a continental craton may give clues to ecology on land. Patterns of higher strata deposition over a distance may give indications of water flow directions. John Baumgardner said we don't have enough evidence to identify preflood continent layout. Hopefully this data may provide that data. I favor Rodinia because Pannotia and Pangea both have fossiliferous sutures in Africa and the Urals respectively.
I think your approach of checking for the boundaries of marine sediments is indeed wise. However, if there was a tremendous amount of rain, then the top level of water could have been fresh and therefore devoid of typical marine, salt-loving organisms. This could leave an open-end to cenozoic/pleistocene post-flood boundaries.
When Joachim Scheven was visiting Australia years ago the discussion of his version of the floating forest included analysis of the correlation with the Euro-American coals. The Euro part correlates with your European marine fossil line from Spain/ north Africa to the Himalayas. Its the closing of the Pangea continent so that fits both the coastal plain and the floating forest theory. That would put Pangea's Tethys sea at the end of the flood. The floating forest is caught between the two colliding clusters of continental cratons; Gondwana and Laurasia.
”… he volunteers that, even if all the evidence in the universe flatly contradicted Scripture, and even if he had reached the point of admitting this to himself, he would still take his stand on Scripture and deny the evidence”
Sooner or later people are going to have to face the fact that the continents broke apart in the days of Peleg, 100 years after the global flood. An asteroid hitting the earth could have been a contributing factor along with centrifugal force of the spinning Earth which caused the continents to slide north as a result. South Africa appears to be where the South Pole was before the breakup. * It’s the reason for the glacial striations stamped on top of bedrock like a gigantic (broken) seal covering South America, Africa, India and Australia from glaciers that were moving from south to north from the time when the continents were all still connected to Antarctica at the South Pole. Of course this was after all the sediment layers from the global flood were deposited. * It’s the reason fossils including Spinosaurus and sediment layers line up between South America, Africa, Madagascar, India and Australia. (The fossils and sediment layers were deposited first and then the continents broke apart, 100 years after the global flood.) * It’s also the reason there are many frozen animals and forest ecosystems buried by tsunamis from the rise of sea levels in North America and Siberia as the continents were being shoved into the Arctic from the centrifugal force after the earth broke apart, possibly due to hardening of the sediments and other contributing factors. * It’s the reason animals made it to South America from Africa and humans did not make it there since they were still trying to build the Tower of Babel before the breakup of the continents. However jaguars were separated from leopards, greater grisons were separated from African honey badgers, tapirs were separated from …tapirs, otters were separated from …otters and all of the other animals arrived at various isolated places around the world before the breakup of the continents. * It’s the reason why the lifespan of humans was cut in half *a second time* since the global flood from a less than 500 year lifespan to a less than 250 year lifespan. It was a time of dramatic changes. * It’s the reason why the meaning of the word Peleg in Hebrew that meant “divided” turned into “as (where) the waters flow” (in between the continents) in the later Aramaic form of Hebrew. That’s quite an impressive but understandable change in meaning. * It’s the reason people isolated into family groups and began speaking their own language. (Everything that happens is of course ultimately by the power of God.) * It’s the reason for the formation of the Marianas trench and other subduction zones. The potential for movements of the plates and continents is very likely considering the volumes associated with them. It wouldn’t take much geologically speaking to get them to move although they have reached a place of equilibrium at this point. * It’s the reason there are dinosaur footprints showing that a dinosaur began walking in Africa and this same dinosaur continues walking in South America also showing that the breakup of the continents happened after the sediments were deposited by the global flood. *Last but not least, it’s the reason penguins never made it to the Arctic since there was no land there for them to breed in the Arctic. …And now you know the rest of the story, the whole story.
@@cosmictreason2242 So you just hand wave away all of the evidence of the breakup after the sediments were deposited. “Watch a video”? Did you read the evidence outlined?
@@JungleJargon happened during the flood. The continents raced around the earth and bumped, creating pangaea, then rebounded back to their current position. All under water
Interesting work. Just a thought, but the flood was a highly tumultuous event that occurred in a very short period of time. Looking for order (layers) in a very chaotic process seems a difficult challenge. Water is a fluid, subject to the boundaries that encompass it, with vastly different turbulence and flow rates over any sample area. I wish you success as you investigate. But it seems to me that connections between layers will not, and cannot be inherently consistent.
I don't know what Kurt Wise is talking about here. He talks about Cambrium, Triassic, and other eras that evolutionists have. Wasn't this about creationism?
Dr. Wise is referring to the naming conventions used by today's geologists but believes that they are related to a much more recent Noahic Flood depositions.
@cosmictreason2242 You know what I mean. All these periods have been named and defined according to important events in earth's history. Sediments from Pre-Cambrium contain very few fossils and no advanced organisms. In the Cambrium, there start appearing trilobites and other more advanced organisms, but no land animals. In sediments from the Carboniferous contain much plant fossils, but no fossilised pollen from modern plants. Newer sediments contain no fossilized pollen like those in the Carboniferous. I did watch this video to see if Kurt Wise could explain this, but he just rambled on with things that did not make any sense.
Also Dr. Wise, diamonds do NOT take millions of years to form as the Evolutionists would have us believe! FACT: A person can be cremated and have their ashes refined, compressed and heated into a pure diamond. The entire process only takes about two weeks! I'd love to hear the Evolutionists' retort to that!
@@kevinkelly2162I believe that his point is that since evolution can only create new design information by random mutations which are selected for over many generations it is a process that needs huge amounts of time. Normally those who believe in evolution believe geological process also take huge amounts of time. Many of us were brought up being taught that coal, oil, diamonds were formed over millions of years. More recent experiments have shown all of those processes can be done in days or weeks. The connection between evolution and diamond forming timescales is tangential but commonly observed.

I think I may need another gigabyte of memory so I can play with this stuff. Note the continental marine fossil clusters late in the sequence may be land locked flood waters that have not found a path to the sea. Some like the Sahara seas and their dwarf whales have been covered by creationist writers. These are considered post flood. Some were drained by geological events. Local quakes. Some by post ice age melt water overtopping the final barrier. I.E. The breach that created the grand canyon and the depositions near San Diego and Tijuana and Gulf of California. Some evaporated to form saltpan seas. Many were just covered with wind blown sand, Sahara, and glacial Loess, parts of Eurasia and the USA. There is also the Yellowstone National Park super volcano eruption that coated large areas with ash. That is probably one of your post flood minor catastrophes. These lakes would have survived long enough to develop some speciation, large populations and discernable ecologies.
Excellent! Though I'm shocked that the flood/post-flood boundary is so low. We can see very visible well defined layers of different color sandstone, mudstone and limestone in road cuts and local canyons. Were those caused somehow *_after_* the flood? By what?
Upon reading the Bible I think we give to much credit to the flood and are totally overlooking The time of Peleg when the Land was divided and the Tower of Babel when the Language was divided Catastrophic Earth moving making a Richter 13 look like a little tremor It also also explain bending and folding and liquefaction of animals.
No. If the continents were divided after the flood it would have caused another flood. Unnecessary. It was not the land but the people that were divided

1:01:20 I also have hundreds more questions than I did when I started this video. Not trying to be mean but I feel like all I got from this video is that you have MANY presuppositions on what the data should tell you which may or may not be wildly off base. The Dunning-Kruger effect comes to mind.
To an evolutionist a fossils appearance is where the species evolved. To a creationist its where the species began dying in the flood. To an evolutionist a fossils disappearance in the fossil record is where it went extinct; they run into complications with living fossils. To a creationist its where the species stopped dying either because there are none left outside the ark or they have found safe waters or emerging land. Its quite simple.
@@haggismcbaggis9485 Many evolutionists argue that if creationism is true then there is nothing more to investigate. Your question shows that there is. Is there a dependency between some created kinds (baramin) and some ecology in the preflood world that can't exist now? We assume that ichthyosaur are mobile generalist fish hunters but that's not well proven. A few have fish in their guts when focalized but if that's a flood emergency meal it's not helpful. The same question applies to a dozen major baramin including pterosaurs and most of the bigger reptiles. Why are mammals favored in the post flood world. If you believe in an asteroid killing the dinosaurs then why did the smaller ones and the marine reptiles also die out? You see it is the same problem. Millions of years don't help there because there are surviving pre Jurassic baramin, family order, around.
@@hatac You have a point about ongoing creation research. It just seems like baraminologists and flood geologists falter at the first hurdle. Evolutionists do more robust science. An example would be the paper: "Extinction of fish-shaped marine reptiles associated with reduced evolutionary rates and global environmental volatility" by Fischer et al. that pinpoints the extinction of ichthyosaurs to early Cenomanian epoch. Where they say: "The extinction of ichthyosaurs did not happen in an ecological vacuum. It has long been recognized that the Cenomanian and the Cenomanian-Turonian boundary represents a peculiar period representing the apex of numerous climatic and oceanic perturbations, with no polar ice, extremely high sea levels, unique sedimentation, strong anoxia and very high temperature and pCO2 (for example, see refs 37, 38, 39, 40). There is evidence for profound global environmental volatility within the Cenomanian, the most notable being the ‘mid-Cenomanian events’, involving sea level fall and perturbations of geochemical cycles". They died well before the Chicxulub impact.

How come we don't see a hairless sunburned flipper lagged featherd blind sonar apt alligator unicorn trying to get a home in the clouds? Bird is a bird. Frog is a frog as been and will always be
Geology has known for decades the reason marine fossils are sometimes found on mountaintops is the mountains were raised by plate tectonic collisions long after the marine fossils were deposited on the seabed. Why this is still a talking point for creationists is hard to understand.
Actually the work of Dr. John Baumgardner modeled, using super computers, the plate movements during the flood calculating they moved from 3 to 5 miles and hour during the 370 days of the Noahic Flood. Dr. Baumgardner's model considered subduction taking place under the plates during the flood and in fact the subducted layers have been found via recent seismic technologies and they have also been found to be cooler than the surrounding deep rock layers they are found in. This means that their subduction took place rather recently...within the last 4500 years. Furthermore Dr. Baumgardner's model explains how continental collision lead to rapid development of mountain chains ...lifting marine creatures from their flood deposition to reaches as high as Mt Everest's summit. The continents moving at 3 to 5 miles per hour provided the energy to quickly lift land masses when collisions occurred. In contract evolution models would not have had the energy to lift such high mountains ...even over millions of years.
seashells on top of mts does indeed support both flood and evolutionist theories. BUT, you add all the OTHER evidence and it is greatly towards creationism.
This is interesting ... this is all within 2 degrees or 200 square miles. Maybe keep the same basic forms but substitute the things you filtered out, or swap. Maybe there is movement well beyond 200 square miles of these factors, i.e. specific terrestrial or biometrics with more population of specific spies. .. then graft it .. Very interesting nonetheless. .. thanks. pat
I think the 2 degrees (and 200 miles) has to do with fossils that are at different elevations are considered to be above or below each other if they are within that range. I might be misunderstanding you or I might be wrong. But I think the entire scope was North America.
What about mudfossils? Created by silica rich oceans... and how did the flood happen? Maybe velikovsky really understood what he traveled around the world to find out...
Any work done to determine timeline of impact events? Do they correlate, precede or follow mid-Atlantic spreading? Could they explain some mega sequence data?

I would imagine that the original rivers are buried under miles of sedimentary rock and could be anywhere around the world. As for the modern Tigress and Euphrates Rives they obtained their names from Noah's descendants as a case of mistaken identity. Yes? No?
Mabey not mistaken identity. But more probably that they simply gave stuff names they new of after the originals. Though ill admit we can't rule out mistaken identity entirely. As plenty of medival, and mabey as far back as intertestimental peoples did not understand that the worlds surface was literally completly reshaped by the flood. It would make more sense that post babel peoples renamed the modern euphrates and tigress In ignorance than Noah, or any immedeate decedent's of his.
The Bible clearly describes those rivers. There's not a hint as to them disappearing during the flood. The Biblical flood doesn't really invoke the kind of sedimentation some creationists describe. If it did, no plants would have survived the flood and everyone dies after the waters recede. The Bible seems to think plants arise by spontaneous generation or something like it and thus no seeds on the ark. But you can't bury the seeds under hundreds of feet of sediment and expect them to sprout.

Interesting this talk completely ignores the huge volume of scientific data already accumulated about the Earth's five major mass extinction events in the last 445 million years. The most recent, the K/Pg event caused by the Chicxulub asteroid impact 66 million years ago took out the non-avian dinosaurs and left the iridium K/Pg boundary layer. The K/Pg iridium layer has never been explained by any Flood scenario.
The 5 megasequences are independent surges of water during the flood year. There was one single mass extinction event, not 5, the 5 are just different times a few weeks or months apart
@@cosmictreason2242 Nope. Each extinction event produces brand new flora and fauna. If you want to hold to that, you are basically giving away the game and advocating for evolution on steroids. Triassic dinosaur species, except for the few that crossed the boundary, are never seen in the Jurassic. Jurassic dinosaurs, except for the few that survived the boundary, are never seen in the Cretaceous (there is debate about whether this one qualifies as a true mass extinction or several smaller ones, but it is still the same problem for your hypothesis). Non-avian dinosaurs disappear entirely at the end of the Cretaceous. Depending on the event, 85 to 95 per cent of all species perish. The sorting of this stuff is way too precise, too stratified to have happened in a single year, never mind multiple times in a single year. Stegosaurus is as far away from T. Rex as T. Rex is from us. That's true _whatever_ dating method you choose to employ that has any consistency. So, how do you get from Stegosaurs to T. Rex in a few weeks? You don't.
The only thing i found interesting here is that the geological periods, which should be based on the content of fossil in the various layers, does NOT correlate with the global data wise have extracted from the database. Especially that the mass extinction events do not correlate with the data seems almost impossible to explain. I would hope that Wise would write a scientific paper on this (excluding off course all his creationist implications) and send it to a mainstream journal. It should be possible to at least get a thorough peer review evaluation of the work, if not getting it published.
@@cosmictreason2242 Incorrect. What really happens is that creationism can't pass peer review because it contradicts existing science without enough proof of why the contradictions are justified. It is also true that creationists generally don't even try (they used to). Lots of controversial things -- relativity and plate tectonics to name two -- overcame staunch opposition. If your team has the goods, it can win through. But, it has to go beyond the handwaving we usually see on TH-cam and explain the existing evidence as well as the new stuff they wish to bring to bear.

Some believe over 99% of plant and animal species are extinct. If so, then mass extinctions must have occurred well after the Flood. One explanation is that worldwide geological extension of the earth’s crust formed large igneous provinces. Mountains were catastrophically uplifted. Worldwide metamorphism contributed to mass extinctions. Ongoing rainfall from evaporation caused floodwaters that eroded river channels while these geological features were hot and more easily eroded. Ice age features were catastrophically formed and melted. However, most creationists associate fossils with the Flood. Creationists should find these features far more interesting if they also consider post-Flood mass extinctions during worldwide catastrophic geological events.
There's not 'some believe" about it. We've collected and counted things. It's a dull and mundane if exhaustive fact. It also means, if you are correct, mass extinctions occurred in historical times. The flood, after all, is circa 2430 or so BC. We already had civilizations then (the Bible itself agrees, too). So, when did they occur and how many show up in, say, the Chinese records?
The first flood was when Lucifer rebelled. Then God had to make life again...which is the 6 days of creation in Genesis. The old life forms from before may have become fossils?
Exodus 20:11 ....carved in stone by God... states that God made heaven and earth in six days and rested on the seventh, and blessed and hallowed the sabbath day. These were 24 hrs. days. In context, God gave man day seven as an example for man to rest one day in seven. God did not give man the seventh day to rest for thousands or millions of years. The scriptures provide the genealogy of Adam to Jesus the Christ we add on about another 2000 years to get to today. So deep time is not in the Bible...the Universe and Earth were all created some 6000+ years ago.
What is interesting about paleontological research is that when it is well done, it demonstrates the validity of the synthetic theory of evolution. When it is poorly done, it reveals how unprofessional the work of a creationist scientist is.
Next your going to tell us that dinosaurs lived 65+ million years ago when soft dinosaur tissues have now been found at dig sites on six continents. These tissues include blood vessels, blood cells, collagen and even partial DNA. DNA has a half-life of 521 years.

It would have had changing levels of variables based on the changing levels of atmospheric water vapor. content.
The vapor canopy theory is both unnecessary and insufficient and all leading young earth ministries reject it

No death before man's sin
Thanks, looking forward to the rest of the project!

(The fossils and sediment layers were deposited first and then the continents broke apart, 100 years after the global flood.)
* It’s also the reason there are many frozen animals and forest ecosystems buried by tsunamis from the rise of sea levels in North America and Siberia as the continents were being shoved into the Arctic from the centrifugal force after the earth broke apart, possibly due to hardening of the sediments and other contributing factors.
(Everything that happens is of course ultimately by the power of God.)
* It’s the reason for the formation of the Marianas trench and other subduction zones.

Why would something like an ichthyosaur die only and mainly in Jurassic strata?

What is the point of this system?
What does NLSSS stand for?

Most likely just named after the former. Like American towns of york, cambridge, oxford, chester, sussex, London etc etc

@@stefanfrello2953 incorrect. Secular publishers refuse to publish scientific research if it mentions creationism. This is well documented
@@cosmictreason2242 Incorrect. What really happens is that creationism can't pass peer review because it contradicts existing science without enough proof of why the contradictions are justified. It is also true that creationists generally don't even try (they used to).

@@sarahwibel8598 Are you assuming -millions of years,- or something like that? The Bible doesn’t mention a flood before chapter 6:17.
Where are you getting that?
@@sarahwibel8598 absolutely rubbish.
@@sarahwibel8598 false. There was only one flood. Genesis 1:1 does not imply a prior catastrophe and everything was good as of day 3 too

Dinosauars were in the world before the first flood. The second flood was the quarternary extinction event ie. cenozoic.
Next your going to tell us that dinosaurs lived 65+ million years ago when soft dinosaur tissues have now been found at dig sites on six continents. These tissues include blood vessels, blood cells, collagen and even partial DNA. DNA has a half-life of 521 years. Biochemists and forensic experts will tell you there is no way that the tissue found can survive for 65+ million years.

Fossils are different in different layers of sediment. So no, one flood could not have made all the fossils. The process of bone to fossil takes a long time about 10,000 years. This is why there are NO Fossils of humans.
Day is not the same as 24 hours, not in the past and not today.
The earth is not about 6,000 years old and the Bible does not teach this. Hebrews 4:9-10: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." This tells us that the 7th day has not ended. Thus day 7 is a long time span, thus day 1 to 6 must be a long time span. Each believer are to enter into day 7. Also there no "evening and morning" for the 7th day. As day 7 as not ended. Biblical Hebrew has a limited vocabulary, with fewer words compared to other languages, such as English or Spanish. This means words often have multiple meanings determined by context. Day - yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, but the word yom can be used in different ways to refer to different time spans thus literally is:
Sunrise to sunset
Sunset to next sunset
Time period of unspecified length. (long time span ).
We use the word day the same today: In my grandfather’s day cars did not go very fast.
Deuteronomy 33:15 and Habakkuk 3:6 "ancient mountains".
Gen. 2:4 “in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens”
The events of day 6 can not have happened in 24 hours.
Have you entered into the 7th as Hebrews 4:9-10 asks you to?

Noah's flood lasted a little over a year.
It RAINED for 40 days, and 40 nights at the outset of the flood, but that was not the main mechanism of the flood. "The breaking open of the fountains of the Great deep" was.
If you don't know that first fact of the circumstance then any critique you might try to levy against any flood research is going to be hard to take seriously.

Ta' Dr.
The Bible records 2 floods and Noah's flood wasn't worldwide 😊
WRONG! 1 flood and it was worldwide. The gap theory and partial floods were just a scheme to try to accommodate evolution and old earth.
Then why did it say that the highest mountains were covered? Hmmm.
Your "2" floods narrative is NOT 2 separate floods but rather 2 perspectives on the same WORLDWIDE FLOOD. If it wasn't worldwide then why not move outside the flood zone, Noah had 100 years to do so, and why bring birds huh??? Why is it that the vast majority of fossilized dinosaurs and birds around the ENTIRE WORLD are found in the opisthotonic posture?
