Why Was Darth Vader So Good At Killing Jedi?
Darth Vader was renowned as the most skilled Jedi slayer of all time. He relentlessly pursued and eliminated many of the Order's most accomplished members who had managed to evade Order 66. With his formidable cybernetic suit and exceptional force sensitivity, he had an unparalleled understanding of Jedi combat techniques and force abilities.
He frequently capitalized on fatal Jedi vulnerabilities, often preying on innocent civilians and young apprentices to draw out his targets. This created a profound sense of terror among the remaining Jedi, which he exploited to weaken their connection to the light side of the force, the fundamental source of a Jedi's power. Moreover, his powers allowed him to delve into his opponents' minds, enabling him to discern the most effective strategy for defeating them, providing him with a significant edge over the Jedi.

his suit was everything but formidable, it was a pain in the ass to wear and obselete.

His suit also was the source of excruciating pain that strengthened his connection to the dark side.
When assassin droids wanted to scrap him for super secret parts they were outraged that his Arm is made of parts over 30 years old

No. No. Not that. I like Vader as is. Couldn't stand Disney shiting on him like they do love to do.
It also helps that Darth Vader used to be a Jedi Knight himself when he was Anakin Skywalker, and he spent a lot of time surrounded by renowned warriors like Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi. He likely would've familiarized himself with the lightsaber dueling techniques his former allies used during the Clone Wars, which would've further aided him in formulating counter methods to their techniques.
Even as Anakin he was genius in dueling, to disappointment of people around him, because they hope chosen one will be more force focused. When he trained Asoka, he basically identified weakness of Jedi and trained her to overcome it? What was that weakness? Several Clones shooting at once! He basically realized how train against order 66, without realizing it. Can't help but wonder, if more people trained like him, if they would survived order 66? Anyway, he understand weakness of Jedi before he started to hunt them, so when he started to focus on it, he was beast!
Not to mention he was one of the best dualists ever
same reason Dooku shit all over Anakin and Obi Wan in episode II. If Anakin hadn't rushed Dooku at the beginning of the fight they might have stood a chance, but even in Episode III Dooku fought them both and knocked out Obi Wan before falling to Anakin. Fallen Jedi knew all the Jedi strats.
Seems like some of the best Sith started out as Jedi.

He also had the same fear effect general grevious did, imagine what basically amounted to a tattered torso that looks vaguely human under the machine yet still had enough force power to outclass every person he came across. If you saw him you could sense you were about to die

Not to mention the aura of dread he emanated which was enough to shake the resolve of many Jedi who rely a lot on focus and discipline
I think Fallen Order captured really well how it feels like to encounter Vader.
Not only that, but Vader has an aggressive yet very unorthodox fighting style which would be difficult for a formally trained Jedi (especially with weakened powers) to compensate for.
You know what they say, find a job you enjoy doing and you will never have to work a day in your life.
But kenobi always whooped that walking emergency stop button.
Kenobi had better armor. Plot armor, that is…………
Vader could have and should have obtained a clone body and learned essence transfer. He was Darth-Friggin-Vader. Either that, or the upgraded armor that would have granted pre-suit mobility.
I still say Vader quietly up-armored his original armor to resist Force Lightning. He knew that one day he would have to take Palpatine’s best shot and be the last Sith standing. He succeeded - from a certain point of view.
Because Vader was being conflicted when he was faced against Obi-wan

Expect when Vader defeated Obi Wan in Kenobi once and the on the Darth Vader, even if you make the argument Obi Wan let himself die it doesn’t change anything considering he still died to Vader.
He learned how to fight by the best the order had and knew their strengths and weaknesses, and yes, he was also very ruthless.

He also had the ability to bring out people’s worst fears and give them false visions to corrupt them and make them easier in a sense to fight and inevitably kill everyone
The suit can only be classified as formidable due to the immense pain Anakin was in while being part of the suit, thus amplifying his connection to the dark side by use of physical and possibly mental pain as well

We need a Darth Vader movie or TV series. Something that shows him becoming known and feared in the Empire, and showing him take on some of the remaining Jedi.
Or just let this character die? The star wars universe has so many other stories to tell.
No, that's not it. What made him so lethal was the unprecedented strength and power of his strikes. When he lost his limbs and had to adjust his form to the suit, he abandoned the longtime Jedi dueling doctrine of speed and agility. He now used his new size, strength, and robotics to shatter Jedi cross guarding. His blows landed so damn hard and heavily on his opponents that it broke through Jedi defensive techniques.
His secret weapon in a duel was his free hand. By utilizing his robotic limbs, he increased the grip on his lightsaber by cranking down on the torque to make it immoveable from his hand. Whereas Jedi had to use both hands to hold onto their lightsabers to block incoming strikes, Vader only needed one. He would then use his free hand to disorient them by punching them in the face or using the Force to swarm them with a barrage of incoming flying objects. From there, he could end the fight whenever he wished.
The Jedi hadn't seen anything like Vader in eons. Arguably since the early days of the Sith Empire under Marka Ragnos. The Jedi had gotten so consumed by advancing the artistry of dueling that their pursuit of fluidity left them overmatched when facing a walking tank. Their cross guards were easily broken by Vader's heavy blows, resulting in them now being on the back foot instead of the correct aggressive forward position. This means they were suffering breakdowns in proper form when dueling.
Darth Vader killed so many Jedi by bludgeoning them to death. Pure and simple.

It helped to have the Empires resources and essentially limitless ability to choose when he wanted to fight at any time. No concerns for space travel, money, or housing. He was afforded any resource at his disposal to do any task.
That had a multiplier effect to his already insane capability
It's simple number one he was strong with the force and was exceptional at what he did.
The other is obvious he WAS a Jedi before he became a Sith.
Because he understood how they operate knowing he was one originally and he wanted to destroy everything that reminded him of Anakin Skywalker
Plus, they did use him and fail both him and the republic.
He had ALOT of very good reasons to hate the jedi....
And remember this is a guy missing three limbs and burned to almost death
He had the Youngling Slayer 9000 once 😂
His suit was resistant to lightsaber strikes and even lava and fire.......his suit was more than formidable.
Also note that Anakin and Darth Vader's lightsaber form was significantly more aggressive than what Jedi preferred to teach and learn

What made Vader so powerful was that despite being hindered by the life support suit Palpatine put in in, he adapted and overcame the deficiencies the suit gave him.
He was good at killing them cause he was one and knew the training they did.. plus he trained all the time in many ways
Imagine if Vaders suit was as advanced as General Grievous's
I think his greatest asset besides his pain was that he trained as a Jedi for most of his life.
The fact he couldn’t run or jump or lift his saber over his head is crazy
1. He was one of the best lightsaber fighters of the order (not #1) and even though he never trained his force abilities much and lost a lot of it on Mustafar he still has a very strong connection with the force.
2. He also inspired fear in his enemies just through his appearance.
3. Even though his armor was actually not well adjusted to him and painful to wear, it also gave him a huge advantage in strength.
4. It also helped a lot that basically no jedi knew he was Anakin Skywalker and former jedi himself. During this time he learned some „secret“ jedi techniques that usually were some sort of last resort moves. So knowing them and be able to counter them stroke a lot of fear into even the strongest jedi and made them easy targets.
Not to mention he had a strength advantage over ever opponent he faced.
Darth Vader was like the upgraded general greivous lmao 🤣 so cool
Don't forget he also received Jedi training as Anakin. I think this was a big reason for many feats
I thought it was a combination of his skill and the fact that he had been one for years and knew them inside and out.

A few other main reasons
1 their was fairly few jedi that actually were good fighters
2 most of the few descent warrior jedi got killed during the initial stages of order 66 given they got ambushed by the clones or similar
3 as a jedi he was one of the very few who fought other force users with that experience got expanded by sidious who tought him methods to fight jedi where the jedi had pretty nuch fully abandoned such training even among their more martial members typically specialized in anti blaster and similar not anti force and saber
Vade is also tall and make heavy swing who is diffcult to properly block or counter

Darth Nihlus : am i a joke to you?
Nihlus is his own worst enemy. His hunger was so powerful he consumed his own body and mind.
Disney made him weak. Obi Wan beat him up. Asoka too
Ahsoka didn't beat him. She only got one hit because he was caught off guard. Other than that he was completely beating her, if Ezra didn't save her he'd have killed her.
I can't defend the Kenobi show because that was totally bs with how untrained obi wan beating Vader at his strongest. Not to mention multiple times he's humiliated in the comics and games
But what you’re missing in the Ezra Asoka fight is that two padawans basically almost killed Vader. She didn’t want to decapitate him, she wanted to find out if it was him under the mask. Had this been under any other circumstances, Vader would be killed by two padawans who never even earned the title of Jedi Knight
😂😂 first of all here's a quote from a game, few survive a encounter with the most powerful sith lord in the Galaxy, - fallen order , Vader is a monster he is a extremely powerful sith juggernaut, Vader is more powerful then even sidious, Disney has given Vader the respect he truly deserves unlike some people, Vader slayed Jedi after Jedi and has insane force feats that are so dam powerful they go way beyond any other sith lord or even Jedi, from crushing building size objects to holding back plantery oceans and thats only a mere tiny taste of Vader's unimaginable power your a complete zero to believe they made him weak dude, before he is literally the is the most powerful sith lord ever and he has proven that many times read the comics and games you'll see

Casual Obi wan fan not knowing anything about his favourite characters plot armor. Vader is a better duelist but the plot Armor made Obi wan's force power so much stronger like 10x more than usual. In ep 4 he was even able to move a piece of paper and then in ep 6 he can force push vader with ease? Complete bs and non-sense plot

He was good at it because that is the way his character was written. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Because failure, injuries, and pressure to remain strong enough to be a sith lord forced him to trim all the fat from his formidable hybrid style and turn it into nothing but utter perfection, that and the power of Dun Moch weakened his prey just by his presence, that and he was a jedi once, he had the greatest idea of how the jedi think out of everyone in the entire empire, the only one that comes close to vaders knowledge of the jedi and how they think would most likely be Thrawn

Vadars suit was terrible. It hurt him to wear and messed with his mobility. The reason being, Sidious didn't want Anakin to be more powerful than him. Sidious killed his master in his sleep and feared Anakin would eventually do the same.
His suit, besides his cybernetics, was more to limit his abilities and make him susceptible to Palpatines strengths, which is force lightning. The skin replacement was designed to itch and keep him insane enough to be fully in the dark side (while also a big conductor for electricity. His life support was designed to be outdated and susceptible to being shorted out, and the suit was so heavy in order to limit his acrobatics.
His was rebuilt solely to be a permanent, disposable lapdog of Palpatine.
If Anakin had cybernetics that were even remotely close to what even Darth maul had after losing his lower body, Anakin would absolutely stomp everyone he came across.
Even though he's nerfed as hell,vader is still one of the scariest beings in the galaxy 😂😂

It’s even more f*cked up because Palpatine probably could’ve fully rebuilt Anakin/Vader to at least be a somewhat more human appearance but decided to put him basically in a life support suit that limited his mobility, was painful af to be in, and had one bad weakness(force lightning). Imagine a Vader without the limitations of his suit, he’d be nearly unstoppable, which is why Palpatine had to keep him in check with the suit
as he’s an absolute badass

Even without all of that the simple answer is he’s just the third most powerful sith of all time in terms of the force.

@@Otsutsuki-san Good questions. Malgus and Vader seem pretty close. Nihlus was strong, but only because of something that happened to him, and that same thing also destroyed not just his body, but his mind as well. All the Nihlus fanboys seem to forget that.
Also he was constantly starving.
His best case scenario is that he eats everything and he dies alone of hunger.
Bane was a machine, both physically and mentally.
Vitiate was only sort of a sith?(I mean, I know his original body was literally a member of the sith race, but)
He had essentially surpassed jedi/sith labels and was clearly following a doctrine that while more selfish and therefore more evil, wasnt really in line with normal sith values per say.

Id also put Marka Ragnos up there with Vitiate, Bane, and Sheev. I dont think Malgus is on their level, but not because he isnt capable, per say.... Hes just not that interested in the force.
Id say the same thing about Vader if it wasnt for the fact that if he was into the force or not, the force was so into him, he as a function of being the chosen one was in touch with the force to those same degrees(such that the force brought him into being as an answer both for the corruption of the jedi, and to finish Sheev)

Sheev, for sure. Then who? Vitiate? Ragnos(incidentally not only was he the first to master things like sith spirit(in a variety of times and places, but least of all at his own funeral/death, to choose his successor), the predicate to essence transfer but he also hand selected Vitiate)
If not Vitiate, Bane?
That would probably be a decently fair top 3.(Sheev, Vader, and Bane)
Although theres definitely a few others who would have run them for their money (Least of which would be people like Ragnos, Vitiate, and the wounds made on Malachor)

Force Judgement on Vader’s suit but the only master of it got murcked during Order 66.
This will probably trigger most fans, but I don't see how impressive having an armed escort backing you while hunting down lone force users that, to most fans, makes.it.seem.his character is that "great." I think his appearance is the most iconic and ominous among all villains. But lets not get overzealous about how impressive Vader was when taking on force users on the run with no resources or army to back them up when he had the galaxy behind him
