I got mine back in 98 for free. The girl I was dating had a sister who bought it, tried it once, and never picked it up again. It's black with white trim. Mine is a little beat up since I played the living crap out of it, and it went with me when I played gigs with my old band. Everything about this guitar I absolutely love.
I have this same guitar and it’s the best Ive ever played. It was my dads and was handed down to me through a friend he gave it too. I could never play another guitar again and be happy with the roadstar.
I got fed up with my 62 Gibson es 335 with the bigsby and its going totally out of tune when strings broke, so I traded straight up for this. Swear to you its true. I ran it Through my 77 Marshall jcm master lead it sounded the same for hard rock. It Played just about as good, although the Gibson had fatter frets that I liked. Only regret is the money I lost. But I made the trade in 87. Through a fender tube amp the clean sounds aren’t weak at all. These go on reverb for cheap, but they’re worth 10 times more, ( as are peavy t-80s). But pay some more for roadstar mc 505 or Steve Lukather and you will have the best hard rock guitar on the planet. Check out Scott Groves Ibanez buying guide. He tells you whats crap and whats great.
I just picked up this exact model from a pawn shop. It's in bad, bad shape, but still plays wonderfully. Mine is yellow. It's not supposed to be, but I guess years of exposure to someone's cigarette smoke will do that. Literally all of It's hardware will need replaced, but I maintain the guitar is worth the trouble

There a super cool guitar. Congrats on finding one to jam on! Killer pickups in them!
Is the neck thin or fat ?
It wasn't fat, but certainly not Wizard thin. Overall, I thought it was comfortable.
@@benchristopher76 ok thanks! I'm thinking about buying one 😎🎸🤘
The tuning machines appear to be aftermarket locking.
That looks to be the case
