What a great video and tour. And you didn’t try to get anybody to subscribe or like your video, you were just being a normal guy who is four months into his RV life and showing everyone your rig and its features. This is how it should be done. No bagging, no advertising, no selling stuff in links from Amazon down in your description, not trying to make people feel like they should donate to your Patreon account, etc. etc. Good for you. Just a straightforward video. And I think it’s a fantastic rig and floor plan. The bathroom is fantastic.
Your living exactly how i want to live also. Your host is the perfect size for one person to feel comfortable and not cramped. Love the whole package…. I’m so jealous .
I really couldn't be happier with this lifestyle. Of course every day is not sunshine and roses. Rough roads suck. Super high winds suck. Heavy rains and hail are crazy loud inside the camper. Thankfully I have noise canceling airpods. I could go on and on about what a pain it is but the majority of the time, it's wonderful!!
I am really impressed. I am shopping for a Camper Van now. I really like the Airstream Interstate. You have given me another option. My name is Judi and I will be traveling out of GA. I can’t wait to head WEST! Safe Travels! 😎
My wife of about 55 years and I have traveled all 50 states via hotels and campers too! Big country, the third largest on mother Earth. We had a small 12 footer when I was a poor professor of radio, TV & communications etc., cutting meat weekends and summers, as teachers are mostly poor. However, 3,000 TV shows later, eight books later and many thank God better jobs running advertising/marketing/P.R. for big food chains got me out of poverty as a teacher. We had two other campers, one a 28 foot trailer pulled by a Ford truck and the latest was a 36 foot 5th wheel with four big slide-outs. I must say that bigger is not always better and we spent many vacations fixing the big guy, water heaters, toilets, sinks, furnace, insulation added, side rails for upstairs, as there was a huge upstairs full bathroom with full tub, toilet, sink and a large king bed with lots of storage. I must say I was most impressed with this video and his truck camper with actually lots of room and well thought out design too! He is a perfect camper guy, handy with the add-ons, just like us. I wish we had the solar panels, as that is the answer to off road camping and that composting toilet is also the answer, as I can't count the dozens of times I dreaded flushing that system. It is interesting that he can run the air conditioner system with that solar power. The two slides he has make it look and feel big. Now as we see the world and 53 cruises and ten world land trips later, my wife says NO to any more of those camping days. From now on it is the Hilton chain as members or sleep in our Acura MDX, God forbid!
Good story. Our country is so huge and amazing. I just wish more people had way more time off to enjoy her. 1-3 weeks of vacation a year is not enough in my opinion. I like working but I love my time off even more.
I just use my dinning table as a desk but I'll be getting a small standing desk at some point. Or maybe I'll just stack some books up. lol. I hope you end up getting a truck camper, it's awesome!
Absolutely love your setup the layout is perfect, really spacious . Also love camping out in the desert 🏜 by yourself its peaceful and you can also enjoy stargazing 🌃
Wow, I’d literally want this exact camper and setup. The Starlink and extreme off grid packages are perfect. I’ve also got a 2022 f350 Dually king ranch, so it’s realistic I could get one. The Lance’s seem too heavy, at least the 1172. This camper seems nicer anyway. I do like the Artic Fox as well. Great video, super detailed. Thanks for sharing
Great video! My husband and I have been full-timing in a Host Yukon for the past 2 years. We love it! I think ours is a 2022. I like the changes to the blinds and the sink. We have a F350 dually as well. We don't have too many complaints. I wish there was an exhaust fan over the cooktop, out Maxair fan is not right over the kitchen. We wish they would have included struts on the overhead cabinets. We end up having to use a wooden spoon to hold them up. We should just upgrade them ourselves. Also it would have been nice to have a maxair fan in the bathroom. The one that is present is so loud. Enjoy your travels.
I can't believe the size of the kitchen sink! There is a lot of storage as well. I like all the features you have and it looks great! You're certainly not missing anything. 👍🏻
Nice rig! Sure beats our little truck camper. We aren’t full time though. We take trips ranging from 2 to 4 weeks. We were just in Virginia Beach and are heading home to Niagara Falls. Looking forward to future videos. Safe travels.

Thanks for sharing. You have probably changed my thoughts from a Ford Transit High Roof Extended Van to this Truck Camper 😊 Good Luck in your journey and hope to see you in the road sometime soon.
Just subscribed. Brother, that is the exact camper I want with the off grid extreme pkg. Been looking at that or the Arctic Fox 1140 dry bath. In six years you are doing what I want to do when I retire at 62. I want to see all of the North American continent and Baja, Mexico. I am going to see Tuktoyuktuk, NWT on the Arctic Ocean too. I want to see it all! Safe travels!
I couldn’t be happier. I’m not retired but my job is seasonal and it requires that I travel the country (I fix wind turbines). Selling my house and buying this was a dream for awhile. This lifestyle is not for everyone but exactly right for me.
Todd, the AF 1140, drybath i was seriously considering, absolutely fell in love with it until i saw these young utubers with the same truck as my ram, dually, crewcab, they had just gotten the AF 1150 and i was a bit shocked, the camper looked overly huge and way to heavy on the truck. It was very concerning to me, i then saw another utuber he had the 1140, and he warned you the weight is a lot more than they say it is, he took his truck n camper to the weight scales. Well that solidified it for me. Glad I saw what i saw, it made me re-think my priorities all out. i ended up with 10-2 northern lite, drybath version, full fibre glass roof, no tpo roof and no slide maintenance, cut my maintenance issues in half right there! This was also my 4th RV, but i was love struck by the AF, made me forget how I hate tpo n slide maintenance, Lol. Love my NL no regrets! 🍻
@@TruckCamperExploring you got my respect. There is no way I would climb up those things. I am deathly scared of heights. I can stand back about 10’ from a cliff and I am fine. I can’t get much closer. I can climb up a ladder to about 10’, much higher and my legs get weak. Getting old though, so shouldn’t be up on a ladder anyway. Getting up on my RV is fine.
Truck campers are so much nicer when they have a slide-out. Without it there is like no room at all. If I were to ever get a truck camper I would definitely go with one that had one. Your camper is very nice!
Very nice for a truck camper a lot of ones I have seen on here are a lot smaller so it looks like you have everything you would need. God Bless and safe travels 🙏👍🏻
Would’ve appreciated a more in-depth description of your composting toilet set up. Wasn’t sure why you had the two toilet stack in the bathroom. GREAT camper!!!
Hello nice camper! Suggestion under the sink you have all those pots and pans by your pipes. Might want to change were you store them could hit a big bump and break those pipes.
Love what you did to the back seat area. Saving vid as I love some of your tweaks. Im just looking for what Im going to get now. Its between a Host or Lance. Leaning toward Host. Thanks for this walk thru.
my husband loves your video. He has a few questions for you. On your truck, what was the price, type of engine, gear ratio, and payload? On your camper, what is the weight fully loaded and price? Are you retired? What is your backstory? Working on the road? Weekend warrior? Inquiring minds want to know :)
I should make a new video explaining all of that. The quick answer is, the truck and camper were both ridiculously overpriced (like most things these days) and I’m financing at a whopping 9% interest. Ugh. I work full time but it’s seasonal. I work 6 months and I’m off 6 months.
We’ve been in a truck bed camper for almost a year we LOVE that ours has no slides and a patio. But the amount of room that these have are crazy. I’m jealous of the pantry space you have though
Impressive...I appreciate your customizations...as you were using the ladder for the escape hatch, the unsteadiness of the bed surface gave me concern for an accident - so I wonder if a short telescopic drop-down ladder attached to an edge of the escape hatch might be feasible...
@@ottouring Thanks...I just perused your YT channel...very nice and well-developed...you provided me an opportunity to view more of (what we call) "Down Under"...blessings...🙂
@@TruckCamperExploring If you mean you will put a plywood base under the ladder legs, I think a large piece (maybe 4 ft. x 4 ft.) would be somewhat more helpful...you could store the plywood underneath the bed or in another spot where a thin piece of plywood could fit...
Man, U forgot to close Ur roof screen while showing us. Flys come in soooo quick!! They sit inside Ur roof. They are crazy in desert! I woke up in my rig to a hundred of them sleeping on ceiling. I removed 1 at a time!! Lol great lil video.
Tbid looks like a quality built camper. The cabinetry is beautiful and the amount of storage is very impressive! It is also one of the most spacious truck campers I have seen. Very nice set up you have for yourself.
Nice video. It's very similar to my Host 2023 Yukon, which is a triple slide. However, your propane tanks are not 40 pounders; they're 30 pounders. I have a Dish antenna on the roof & ran the cable down thru the grey tank vent cap & down alongside the vent pipe into the interior, which you could probably do with your Starlink hookup. I had to redesign the solar panel layout on the roof, because at certain times of the year & certain parking angles, the air conditioner cover was shading two of the panels & killing the solar power input. It appears yours might be doing the same thing. While redesigning the panels I also made them tiltable for maximum effect when staying long term like you appear to be in the desert. Also, removing the camper jacks makes it difficult to service the truck. Many auto maintenance/repair facilities cannot service the truck with the camper attached, either because of weight limits on their vehicle lifts or doors/ceilings not high enough to get the truck into the facility. Also, if your truck ever needs major repairs on the road, the Ford dealer might need to raise the cab to get at the transmission or rear of the engine, & it can't be raised with the camper on.
Good points. The only time I ever take the camper off is to get routine maintenance on my truck and so I do at that time, install the jacks. But it's only every 10,000 miles so I don't mind too much. I've thought about making my solar panels tiltable. That would help in the winter for sure.
Ok. Just happened to find you today. First question I have is why did you choose host over arctic Fox.? I like both but if I were to live in one I would choose the Arctic Fox. The fresh drinking water is a problem in all campers. Many fifth wheels now have separate water for drinking and Ice. Builders have added a ten gallon bottle that you can fill at a grocery store. It goes in the hold with special pump on top of it. So you dive and bike and look to be in good shape. I would miss my dog but to some the freedom is worth more. I need either my guy or dog out both. Like to be around very few people but I've always needed the partner out the dog. Tell me/us about you. What do you do for a living and where have you gone in this four months? Do you get lonely? 😢
I’ll be making a video soon answering all those questions. But the quick version is I chose Host over AF because I fell in love with this camper’s layout. For a living I repair wind turbines around the country. I do not get lonely. I’m 100% content by myself but I talk to my mom and brother almost daily. I also talk to the animals I see daily but so far, they haven’t talked back.
@@ottouring hello… Thankyou for your reply. Australia is my second home. I grew up in Perth and my parents and siblings and one of my daughter with my two grandchildren still live there. I live near London now and miss my Australian life. I’ll be back someday.
One thing I noticed ( and I had the same issue ) is that all your recharge cables are loose. I ordered small ziplock clear bags to put one recharge cable in for things like ipad , iphone shaver etc into a bag and this means they dont get tangled up with each other , plus i put them all in 1 or 2 clear plastic boxes with lids so that I know where they are at all times .
The bottom drawer was organized exactly like you described but I use the top drawer cables almost daily so getting them out of the ziplock became irksome. But I’m typically an organized neat freak.
@@TruckCamperExploring I dont bother with cables much so they stay in an upper unit along with my other "boxes of madness" I call them that because when I was younger and lived at home , my parent never organised anything , and every drawer I used had cables etc all tangled up and nothing was kept in one place . It drove me crazy. so now i have a home of my own , i dont have craziness in the drawers. I came up with the idea of ziplock bags ( i dont go as far as to label them , thats too far )but I know where each cable is ( sort of lol) . I cant stand clutter .
Wow, I am really impressed with how spacious this truck camper is! I've never seen one like this before. Thanks for showing your home to us.

Tbid looks like a quality built camper. The cabinetry is beautiful and the amount of storage is very impressive! It is also one of the most spacious truck campers I have seen. Very nice set up you have for yourself.
Hello, awesome tour
Everybody should have one😊👍✅
Thank you
Oh it is my dream. Just got to get a winning lottery card. Ha.
Nice rig.
Did you look at the Host Monmouth too? Wondering what the pros and cons were. I feel the Monmouth might be too big for one person.
Yes I definitely thought the Mammoth was too big for just me. The Cascade was just right.
Very impressive!! Great space!
Thank you for the tour.
Thanks for the video. Host makes an excellent TC but having to move the slide to get in is a total deal breaker for me.
Great tour.
Wow what an awesome rig.
Nice unit. Thank u 4 z tour.❤
Host Campers made in Bend, Oregon. Spendy but quite unique and well built.
Wow! very nice! Great vid.
Wow..nicest truck camper ever!!
Good tour… love this rig.
@@ottouring hello… Thankyou for your reply.
Australia is my second home.
I grew up in Perth and my parents and siblings and one of my daughter with my two grandchildren still live there.
I live near London now and miss my Australian life.
I’ll be back someday.
Beats a van down by the river.
Lol. That doesn’t sound too bad either.
😂
lol
Rollin doobies!
Not for the price.
What's wrong with the A/c. Jus wondering why it quit working. Awesome truck and camper. Great video. Really nice set up.
I ran into something that was too low. It only broke the plastic shroud but I think some styrofoam got loose in there. I’m fixing it now actually.
Nice home!
Very nice be safe travels
