Great commentary, informative and neatly edited. I don't usually watch flight reviews from start to finish so you have really achieved something here for me 😀
Cathay Pathetic keep flying under the radar. They seem to rely on their past glory, some 25 years ago, when business class meant fine dining and white-gloved service. Today they charge premium rates for economy service and canteen food. Great video and presentation, truly enjoy your caustic sense of humor.
I’m glad CX seems to have moved back to a standard meal service rather than the “order anytime” when I last flew in early 2020. I hope the Riesling was cold - it wasn’t on my last flight, taking the edge off an otherwise positive experience
Is it possible to please clarify the date of this flight? Many thanks! Just FYI, there are no more quarantine requirements now and only a 3 day ban on bars and restaurants. We hope you visit HKSAR and fly Cathy in the future.
Next time i would love to see the full takeoff i love CX i flew them a while ago they were absolutely brilliant but we had trouble with the plane there was a engine problem so we had to go back to Hong Kong and get a new plane instead of getting in in the morning we landed at night because we were so delayed i was so excited to get home and see my family back in Australia
Your quirky and poignant commentary doesn't adequately reflect the number of views or your subscriber base. You actually have a great VLOG channel here, given the stiff competition in this space by so many wanna be and actually very good travel bloggers. All the best and keep the good work up
I'm not sure if you're pronouncing "miso" and "edamame" the way you did to be humourous, but just in case you weren't: Japanese words are generally phonetic, and only with short vowels - "mi" as in "mid", "so" as in "sob" - mi-so. Likewise, "E" as in "egg", "da" as in "dab", "ma" as in "man", "me" as in ... err ... "men". E-da-ma-me. Other than that, this is an excellent review of my favourite airline on my most frequently flown route between my former home and my current home, although the last time I flew this route was over three years ago. The Pier has barely changed, aside from the distinct lack of passengers, and the last time I flew this route, CX Business Class didn't offer bedding or slippers, and the amenity kit was by Seventy Eight Percent, which I'd probably rate at ... umm .... 78%. It came in a rather cheap fabric case rather than the leather one you got. Your food options looked a little disappointing, if I'm honest, and it looks like you needed an ice pick to get through that ice cream, rather than a spoon. I did too. Seems to be typical.
Even the Perth service is decrease from 10-11 to only 2 flights per week. No one want to go to Hong Kong since traveller still not able to go to restaurant dine-in for first three days and wear masks all the times.
It’s heartbreaking to see the absolute destruction of Cathay’s once magnificent business class service. The images of those food trays of prison food were too depressing to look at!
Having just flown them from Sydney to Hong Kong Bangkok in Business I was, and my partner was very disappointed in the overall product - food was not good and presentation lacked appeal, crew were all good and desperate for feedback on the screens to no doubt ensure their continued employment - Hong King airport was desolate and the constant checks felt deeply mainland - I’m afraid it may be the slow end to a once great carrier.
You do not need the jab to enter Hong Kong thank god. However, you will be restricted from entering public venues in HK. So for the time being stay away.
Best airline video report of 2022 which matched so many Alan P and John Shuttleworth moments in a fun and clever way with some epic shots. No not epic shots to get over covid in Hong Kong, I meant out of the window! Is there a gol ? guffaw out loud? China is fucked with their covid policy on a more serious note. One man cannot keep the genie in the bottle, but he has painted his flag to the mask.
Your presentation is highly interesting to watch. Thank you very much and take care.
Really enjoy your humorous commentary, subscribed.
I Love the A350.Very nice Business class Cabin.Great work

Thanks for the review

I really enjoy your videos... love the commentary and subtle humor
Really enjoyed this, particularly the pithy commentary and even grown to like the music 😊 - keep it up 👍
Nice! 🙌

Great video. Love how you say we’re coming into Perth when the flight map has you over Exmouth 1250 km away. The big distances here are deceiving.
How many hours is the trip perhaps?

Always have that repetitive guitar jingle stuck in my head after watching your videos. Thanks!
Looking very nice..

I'm flying with them to Melbs frolm London next month, did you have to do a pcr even though only transiting HK?
What date was this flight? I think the service / airport volumes have picked up recently
Last week. It shows the current state of play.

Caithy pacific is sadly going downhill rapidly. They do not even fly into Adelaide anymore.

You don't know how to pour a beer. Too much 'icecream' if you don't angle the glass.
