I have flown a lot of airlines and had my fair share of first class flights but I have never seen anything like Cathay Pacific's secret first class! Not quite so secret, Air New Zealand has leased one of the Cathy 777-300's and is now on the MEL-AKL-HOU route.. They are selling it as Business Premier "Preferred" though this is not the new Business Premier "Preferred" that Air New Zealand are rolling out on their 787's. Appreciate the review.

Just taking a moment to appreciate your reverse walking in HKG airport.
I'm native from Hong Kong, and CX sometime does offer something like this, e.g. Prem. Econ seat as selectable seat for standard Econ. passenger. However, one of the most important take out for CX (and some other big company like Amazon) is that their CS really require some more training, especially on this kind of hard knowledge.
Now that a good way to travel. Many fun and safe travels to come. Ready for the next season already!
In reply to open babel, on the CTS route, crew do the 5 hour return legs in one day and work the cabins as basically 3 class instead of 4
Also they keep J seats available for rest in addition to normal crew rests.
I have seen it many times and doubt if you just ask they will ignore you unless they know you are coming.

About to book business class to Hungary.
I can understand why Kym wants people to subscribe and boost the TH-cam algorithm - but the plain fact is that many people don't because it just means getting more emails, whereas if you don't subscribe but follow the channel every day anyhow you always get to see the latest stuff anyway. For some of us it's as simple as that.
Would you be willing to talk about how much you make from all you income streams like photography for f1/youtube/memberships/previous work? I think it would be a great insight to the world of what it is you do. We talk about drivers pay, f1 sponsorship and such and am fascinated with you and others in your industry if you would be so brave to make a video on?
If he has 300,000 plus subscribers, most likely he make a little shy from $600,000 plus US dollars a year

I got a business class upgrade once with eithad Melbourne-Manchester that was cos the baggage clerk told us about it due to having spare seats in business class (it was about $US250 each for my hubby and I) haha it was bloody brilliant... made that long haul flight much more tolerable... sadly though it was for the first leg... was stuck back in econ class for the second leg... haha kept badgering my husband for a business class ticket after that (which was really expensive so no go )

High tier Marco Polo or Oneworl flyers can allocate themselves those seats in advance, but ONLY on the CX app. Not on the web and not on the phone.

I don't understand your accounting ? If both seats are vacant it comes don to the equation of updated food and service v branding for loyal customers. not much in cost difference as the airline have a standard fixed costs for the seats in first class.

After flying them for 30 years in premium as QF platinum,can assure you they admit Marco Polos come first in this type of seating and happened to me many times to CTS on low rev overbooked sectors.
Seems the known influencers get preferential treatment. I have seen Sam Chui demand this seat at check in.

CX's first class seats are getting a bit dated to be honest, lacking the private suites enclosure that newer first class seats from rival airlines. That being said, service-wise, CX remains above average.
They will have a phenomenal new first class soon
