- Wow today was a tough one it was pouring with rain all day and fairly windy but we managed to get more roof panels on and we did on the first day.
It was thoroughly miserable weather by the end of the day we were both completely soaked to the bone.
But it was satisfying getting the new roof panels on.
Soon it will be time to mount the solar panels.
Well done Sarah and Jude! Thanks.
watching this video gives me the "willies" but I shall soldier on.
Must be nice to have gotten that roof replaced looks lot nicer then the rusty one.
Again: Kudos to both of you. The roof is really steep and slippery. 🖖
Well done you are certainly determined thank you .
Thank you!
Fair play to you both cracking on in that weather, it was awful, and probably pretty dangerous. Once I was helping my brother with his roof, it was mid January in Orpington on the side of a hill, and I complained it was rather cold, he laughed, then went to take a drink from his bottle of water which had partially frozen!!!
Wow having your water bottle freeze over sounds worse conditions and it was for us!!
Yeah, I lost you for a while and am glad to see your videos have reappeared in my stream. I have missed quite a few and have to go back.
Looks like fun.😅
Nice work but dangerous in this weather, these sheets are like knifes, have installed them 35 years ago with my dad also…..
Good job ma …it would have be a lot more stress free with a Full Ground mount , since they aren’t Trees around the space to shade panels and there are so much space on there as well!
Sarah, Being Relentless is good, yet Wisdom most of the time has a better long term health effect!
Be careful!
Will do it's been too rainy and windy all week to continue with the roofing...
Great job. Always wear head protection and rubber gloves around sheet metal. You never know when the wind might pick up. Be safe. I know you guys want to get done but rainy weather is very dangerous.
Noted thanks for your feedback I've actually ordered a safety harness. Hopefully it should be here in the next couple of days it's been way too windy and rainy this week to continue on with the roof.
🎉
You must be wet like a fish in this weather.
In these weathers, solar panels produce little electricity.
I have 8.75kW of panels, managed to produce 4 kWh in the UK today, although at one point was generating just 22w in very similar weather to the video.
Hello Sarah, I am following your journey to become energy independent, it's also my dream to build a victron system but due to budget costs and a much longer ROI, I might consider using some other components for the installation but definitely my Solar charge controller will be a Victron. By the way, why you didn't consider a ground mount solar panel installation? I can see that you have a lot of space on the ground and much easier to maintain...
Having a ground mount system is something we definitely considered I talk about this in my new video which I'm releasing today thanks for your question.
