I know your just having fun with this build but a piece of plywood for the console to sit on between the lips would have been good but I maybe would have put the console where the seat was then sit on something cause having the weight in the back makes it more stable I would think but good video good to just have fun
A jack plate would help with the controls. Maybe more speed also.

These engines run on a ground out shutdown and the water in the control box that went sw😢with the console when full of water and of course grounding out the the coils. If you ever encounter this issue or wet plug wires or boots always carry a can of WD-40 and drench the wet parts in their. The name stands for…..

Mainly for the uses I’ve described WD-40 DOESNT CONDUCT ELECTRICITY. Me if you pour a bucket on it it wouldn’t carry one multiple activity to hence not Grammy out your coil. It’s a quick fix.

I replaced my extinguisher on my boat I bought new in 92, last year before I got the ticket/warning. I was cleaning the boat and looked at extinguisher, the needle was on red. Better replace that, the next time out I received a safety check👍

Hi I have a 1986 mercy 115 it I'm really not 100 percent sure I had it at black lake and got it in weed and it overheated so we put a brand new block pistons everything it seemed to run good then we took it back to the lake and it runs good for 10 to 15 mins then dies when it dies it asks like fouled plugs or like it Ran out of fuel I changed the plugs and it did the same thing I'm leaning towards a bad sensor maybe I really don't know alot about it and now I have a sxs and lost interest in it after it dies and it sits for awhile it fires back up when it is running it sounds good like it's not skipping or anything other then that I don’t know can you possibly point me in a direction

I have a 1986 honda bf50L 5hp 4stroke...lil beast....tank!
It has a plate or regulator the throttle hits and doesn't let it reach its full potential....I know it's there so u can abuse it or whatever but can I remove it and get a lil more power from it when needed?...
I think you’re referring to the cam that slides the roller on the carburetor? If so all that’s doing is opening the butterfly valve in the carb to allow more air in, thus more power / speed. The valve can only get so wide open, and usually the end of the cam marks when the valve is wide open. Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying, I don’t think there’s some sort of speed regulator that you can mess with and get more power from
@BoatBusters it's actually a plate...that's welded on and it kinda stops the throttle from moving any further...sorry man I am not the greatest with all repairs but I can do enuf to get by....I wish I could show ya...lol...
