Last year I ran a painting league for our local playgroup (submit something every week, whoever painted the most gets a point, another point for community choice which is voted on by the group) that was set up to be completely scale and game agnostic, and because this meant I got to basically force my friends to look at what I painted every week I unintentionally spent October-December AoS pilling some of them with my Stormcast and Cities of Sigmar. Suddenly my hobby side project has morphed into a four person playgroup.
I think the Lord of Pox is great. I think the thing that sets him apart from the other Death Guard characters is the lack of whimsy. No goofy faces, no Nurglings, and little-to-no little maggots and cartoon flies. It just looks grim, lumbering and like hulking death shambling towards you. 10/10, will definitely pick him up.
I'm mainly sculpting while watching this podcast on my second monitor. Never miss a show. Looking forward to seeing you guys at AdeptiCon! Thanks for the tip on Dungeons & Daddies. I am building all of my Kill Team stuff to run a narrative campaign set in the Wrath & Glory RPG setting.
Can't remember if it was conquest or one of the later ones, but an issue of one of the hachette magazines came with the skulls sprues. I bought three copies of that one, as a chaos collecter all my characters now get to stand on whole piles of skulls.
The Green on the new Nurgle Character looks to be Contrast and/or washes to grime up the base colour rather than traditional paints blended to give that graduation
If it helps, I finally made the plunge on AoS after admiring the models for years and I've never enjoyed painting battleline troop units so much. I never want to paint plate armour again.
I'll never pay for warhammer+ because the only thing I'd ever use it for is list building, but there are free alternatives. That said oh boy am I interested to know what the hell is going on with codices. It feels like third of them were written by an intern with no supervision, another third is pretty decent and then one third is written by some absolute legend making something that's at the very fluffy, pretty strong and also fun to play against. And most importantly it feels like none of these three ever talk to each other.
i happen to listen tha fabius bile trilogy while all these EC teaser and reveals happening (recommended btw). Although they are chaos space marines in 40k theres a lot of mentions and references to the original HH 3rd legion in these books so now I am tempted 😂 although i also prefer the purple HH style better
Patrick - did your father ever write anything about John Pendlebury on Crete? An absolutely amazing archaeologist, who later organised the Cretan resistance movement, definitely literature worthy!
I agree with Pat I prefer the 30K Emperor's Children BUT the caveat is that 10K years later they are now fully chaos infested so need a different look.
That vampire on dragon was the best model revealed imo Personally I think the purple and gold look for EC is super boring where as the black and pink for EC is fun and cool looking. Has a twisted vibe I like too
Having bought Skaventide and played a few games of Spearhead. AoS is awesome. The points costs are also higher than 40K. For example the Stormcast Yndrasta spearhead is 890 points, the gravelords spearhead is 790 points. If you bought that and the new army box, you’d have yourself 2000 points from two purchases. Granted that comes with a total of 40+ skeletons to paint😅. I highly recommend you jump into AoS.
@@thepaintingphaseunknown at this time. Probably in the 600-700 points range. Character models are around 150-190. The current war scroll for the skeletons is 100 points per 10 man squad. Not sure about cavalry.
Wrong. Haha. Eldar are the best new release. But then didn’t get a fomo box - and it’s all insanely expensive for the tiny 5 man units/all heroes at 28
Reasons I stopped my Warhammer Plus subscription: 1.) exclusive models were no longer interesting 2.) manual log-in required whenever you wanted to use the app (like, SERIOUSLY??) 3.) production value is not adequate for a paid service.
As instructed, I stopped painting and gave my Chaos Space Marine a nice pat on the head. Thanks for the company as always!
Enjoying these chats, helps pass the time at work 👍

Well done. Nice to see what can come from a small idea.
Being very productive in my Painting Phase. Love the positivity in this episode!
Thanks so much Squire!
Great stuff again, always enjoy listening to these. Good to see the regular uploads !

Has Pat shrunk???
Thanks for 2 episodes in a week guys really helped my painting sessions!
Geoff looks like a full grown astartes hanging out with a guardsman
Primaris vs Firstborn

The upcoming John Blanche sets from Army Painter would be great for the Soulblight Skeletons.
Excellent I can learn kill team alongside you guys 😊
YES Another chillin with the boyz video! -1 guy.
Eunice is still working in Hollywood. She was a stunt coordinator on Rise of Skywalker.
Excellent News, truly thanks for that update. Glad to see the Scousers still out there smashing it - Geoff
check intersections 3 times before entering. keeping speed and adjusting for traffic and lights
Also writing this comment, whilst driving?!
Great video as always, and ....Yay.... dazmaul wargaming mug 😅 I've not been forgotten lol
Never!!! It's a great mug 🍺
@thepaintingphase tea/coffee tastes better from that mug
To answer your question Pat, I watch your show on my second monitor while I'm at work, working in animation
Happy animating!

Just as they should!

That’s a bingo!
This is the first of your vids I've seen on my feed in ages :(
Thanks for looking in, much appreciated.
Join us in the Mortal Realms !!!

Oh wow, sounds awesome. How work was fiction but did include some historical characters. Haven't brought myself to reading them yet, but will!
@thepaintingphase colour me very interested!

Yeah I loved the black and pink too - Geoff
Yesssss Patrick...abandon those anodyne space soldier sculpts of mediocrity and cross over to the mortal realms
I do love the new terminators, now I'm a bit more adept with an airbrush I enjoy the process. Alas, the mortal realms are certainly calling...

Excellent point, the new DKK box is under 500pts??

Counter point, we did not get sonic dreads. There for this was a terrible launch. Ha, take that.
Damn it!

I agree on 2 out of 3 of those points. I can log into Warhammer+ with biometrics.
