I’m a YJ guy too. Just a ‘95 4 banger w/ 4.88 gears. Your videos are great. Maybe one day I’ll try some much needed upgrades; but as for now I really appreciate you sharing your experiences through video. Thx man
Im glad i found this video, im working a deal on a yj roller and want to put SD axles under it and have not found a single forum post about putting SD axles under a yj
I watched a few of your videos on this about a year ago when I was looking at swapping super duty axles in my yj. Good follow up video, liked and subscribed buddy
I think your forgetting how hard you worked on that and how proud of you you were when you finished it don't forget that. Your craftsmanship is improved but one should respect you getting out there and doing the work by yourself no one holding your hand you just had a vision and you achieved it remember that . I seen more ugly welds hold better than pretty welds
What leaf springs do you have in the front? And are the 2.5 “ wide? Also how much is the front stretches? What steering/ gear box do you have? I’m getting ready to one ton swap my yj, I have a 14 bolt rear and a 97 ford Dana 60 front. I’m thinking of getting the Dave’s outboard kit since this shop told me he would charge 600 just for labor not including material to make an outboard kit. I’m trying to gather all the parts prior. If I run yj springs in the front do you know what it takes to install the Dana 60? Do I use new spring perches? And what does it take to get the driver side installed? Do you modify the mount or does it get cut off and a new one welded?
That helps a lot. If its not too much trouble, could you tell me the lenght from eye to eye on the leaf spring perches of the front/back and what leaf springs you used? I have an 03 super duty for my yj that I have yet to get the funds to do, but hopefully sometime soon I can get it under. Your jeep looks great, I'm also rocking the metal cloak fenders.
I’m getting a Dana 50 for my TJ for practically free, by purchasing a full truck to get some parts I need for my F250. My question is, would it be worth it to build the 50, or should I not waste my time and get a 60? I’m also considering it so I can run some hummer rims on it.
I know everyone here is running jeeps but maybe you guys can help me out. I have a 94 4runner that I just swapped a 5.3/NV/np 241 full driveline into. I wanted full width axles but Chevy kingpins are $$$$ and hard to find. Super duty are cheap and easy to get here. So I want to change my transfer case to driver drop. And leaf the super duty on the front. What was your width for those shackle mounts? I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing since I wanna do this budget and diy and later add coilovers. I also like how your ride height is not all jacked up in air. Did you have to use a high steer? I wanna still daily drive it. I'm thinking about outboard my shackle mounts just like you did to get it to work. And put a sterling in the rear. Also did you stick with Ford 8lug pattern?
I’ve been watching your videos and the rig has come a long way and looks wicked. You may have covered this and I just missed it but on the rear suspension what did you do to mount the shackle hangers off the rear crossmember? I’m swapping XJ leafs under the rear of my TJ and I’m trying to find a good way to mount the hangers in the way you did. I want to find a good way to make the crossmember extra beefy since it’s going to be carrying the weight of the vehicle.
It rode great in that configuration. In the rear I was running xj leafs with some s10 leafs mixed in. I built custom brive shafts and swapped out all the yokes for 1350 u joints all around.
Okay awesome thanks abunch. I have a 6" rough country on the stock dana 30 and it rides worse than a log wagon. Just trying to get an idea what kind of spring I'd want so it would be halfway smooth. Thinking of stock 2" lift springs for a yj lol

As I start my 1-ton YJ, your vids have been helpful.

What springs were you running?

Hell yea! I need to outboard my springs as well

Eye to eye is 44.5" and the leafs are basterd packs with wagoneer mains
What size tires and did they rub on the springs?

Can’t believe that front hanger held. Wow. Haha
Right. Been years lol
How far forward did this move your front axle forward? What springs are you using in the front? Also how did you do your hydro assist?

Awesome 👏
I see you have a curved steering arm to deal with lift height. Do you have bumpsteer? Or did that fix the issue? Thanks
Can u talk about your steering setup
Good stuff!
Front and rear driveshafts custom ordered and if so where did you order them? Is your steering box still in factory location ?
I build my own drive shafts. The steering box is an astro van in stock location
Ok thanks !
I'm doing the same set up on mine I was wondering if I was able to flip the pitman arm around 180 I've seen 3 vids with them like that.
is there no way to do a SD without outboarding, due to that driver side perch, other than maybe shortening the pass tube?
This is the only way unless you did a truss and put the leaf spring over the diff housing but it would be very high.
@@ashland82391 I probably should just link mine as well but I just have to keep it on leafs lol. Maybe ill link the black one in the driveway
@@FlawedOffroad if you have the budget its definitely the way to go
@@ashland82391 I dont haha, im waiting on tax money to be able to get driveshafts and the other shit I need to finish this soa
@@FlawedOffroad in that case outboarding the leaf springs is a cheaper easier way to get tons under that bad boy

Mu crossmember was rusted out so several years ago I cut it out and welded in a big 4.5x4.5" piece of angle iron its 1/4" thick
@@ashland82391 thanks dude.
Have you had any troubles with the soa with axel wrap?
Yes, I had to do an anti wrap bar
Sweet dude
How did it ride ? Did you run front springs in the back as well? Also what did you do about adapting the driveshafts ?
It rode great in that configuration. In the rear I was running xj leafs with some s10 leafs mixed in. I built custom brive shafts and swapped out all the yokes for 1350 u joints all around.

How’s the flex with the spring being out that far?
What gearbox you used
Hell yes!
What leaf springs do you have
I have the same question

Yes sir, I've vowed to do my best yet this year keeping up with videos and better quality videos
HELP WRANGLER YJ 1991 YEARS ENGINE 4.0 PCM 56026982 NEED NEW NUMBER PART FOR NEW PCM THANKS FROM BOSNIA
Yikes
It wasn’t bad. It worked well for what it was for years but of course now it’s linked and coilovers.
