After about 20 years working, I'll tell young people you should not have any loyalty to any organization, they will turn on you in a second when its convenient and fire/replace you. Also to ensure no slavery, young people dont get married and dont get a girl pregnant, make sure she takes the birth control pill daily in front of you and both wear protection. You will just condemn your new child to increasing poverty and freedomless slavery and these control/money/job trends worsen. Promote this idea in videos and social media to help prevent more young people into this new slavery.

Tks for the video. I'm from Brazil and I graduated with a bachelors degree in public relations. its been 6 months since I graduated and I'm still unemployed. All my colleagues from Uni are employed and thriving. It's hard not to think like I'm a failure because I tried so hard to get in the course just to end up unemployed after graduation. As it's not so expensive to go to Uni around here, I'm thinking about getting back to uni to get a business degree. It's not what I want, but I hate being unemployed. In 2019 I had false expectations for my first full time job. As an engineer I directly applied for jobs which required at least 3 years of full time job experience. Until then I only worked as a so called working student. Later I realized that there were suitable jobs for beginners which included a graduate trainee or young professional phase for the first 6 months. It was a training phase where you took lessons from employees and later on participated in their daily business routine. You have to search for jobs like these in order to get started as a professional.

That was initially 3 months long and was told by my manager and her boss/Company founders that my contract would be permanent as long as there was enough work for me to do for the company. All of a sudden the marketing manager quit abruptly which I got a bulk of my work from, so my contract had to be just 3 months. It came to an end 2 days ago. I finished my uni basically 2 years ago, in August 2019. Since then, I have spent 2 years dealing with my uni's paperwork that will enable me to register my degree and being able to work in my field... but since it's public and free and my country's bureaucracy sucks, instead of the 6 months promised, it's been almost 23 months. Some classmates have found jobs with family friends, but most of us haven't, because most jobs want the degree to be registered first.
thanks for making this video, I relate with everything you said, still unemployed and it's 2022 trying to be as positive as I can get in this new year 🥲 anyways love your positive energy keep going I'm rooting for ya 💛😊
It makes me crazy, I feel for young people. I actually graduated back in the 90s (yeah, generation X), even back then a college degree didn't give you the keys to the middle class job market kingdom. If you tell young people "don't get a marketing degree because most people don't jobs with that degree" then you come across as stepping on their dreams. If you don't tell them the the above and they get the marketing degree (or whatever) and they don't get a job ever...then you're basically perpetuating the college hoax. Not sure what the answer is.
Being in your position is not being privileged , it’s your parents being responsible and not throwing the child to the wolves in a crazy different job market right now ! It’s hard to get a job in your degree field if you are working at a job that is way beneath your degree . Save those jobs for those who need them more than you do …
But what is she supposed to do? Just stay broke hoping an employer in her related field of study hires her? I work a general labor position though graduating with a degree in engineering. Bills still have to be paid.
I graduated Engineering Bachelor degree in 2016 and no job until now. Staying with parents and got criticism and complaining from them almost every time. I don't know what my future be like.
I graduated last Dec and I applied to a couple of jobs but I realized that I didn’t want to work in any of the fields I saw or even work under someone since I’ve been working since I could legally work and I’m burnt out and could care less. I stopped applying maybe 3 months after graduating and have been just focusing on my financial goals since I do gig work to get by and have been doing solid. I don’t have career goals at the moment just want to work for myself which definitely stresses out my family but idc 😂
Hey, you gotta do what’s right for you! If it’s working for you, that’s all that matters. And honestly, even if you have career goals they can change (myself included in this haha).
Sounds lit. Graduated. Always getting ghosted. I day trade using a credit card and panic which Airbnb will be the best to stay in. God damn it why do employers think I’m lazy!
Honestly for me I'm actually quite glad that I didn't get invited for an interview right away because it gave me the opportunity to rethink about my career choice. It made me realise that I no longer want to do what I thought I wanted to do. Had I gotten that job I probably wouldn't have even entertained such thoughts lol. Guess there's a silver lining to everything 🤷🏿♀️😪.
I agree! I think having time after college to really contemplate what you like/don’t like can be so beneficial. I definitely had a completely different career path laid out for myself right after college compared to what I do now!
It is interesting how young people go to college and decide to not work in the areas you majored in. Big mistake in my opinion especially if your parents paid for your education.
It is all good and dandy till you realize that nobody will date or marry you unless you have a job already, especially if your field is nationality restricted such as aviation. I’m in a cache 22 as Canada has an overly strained job market and I’m an ERAU Grad who could get work I’m at Boeing, Lockheed but can’t due to the requirement to be a US citizen (even here in their Canadian branches)
It's the same case with me. I graduated with a Finance degree but because I wasn't able to do an internship due to the Pandemic even though I had 2 months of job experience as a Budget Analyst. The first job is the hardest and is always taking a toll on me. Your degree will only get you a few interviews but if you don't have any job experience you won't get hired.
parents should teach their children as they grow up how the economic system works and what to do to make some profits ,bucks . waiting too long for that can be harsh .
Thank you for sharing this amazing video. I feel like it really resonated with me especially with the thought process and the current situation. I'm not overly stressed about financial part because I'm lucky enough to live at family home on welfare payments so I can kinda take my time. I do my job search everyday online, sitting with coffee and my thoughts. I graduated last month and I know with my degree is quite generic so I planned to do further study (that's for later). I guess the stress is mainly coming from not having a career direction so I also spend this time reflecting and thinking about what to do next. I also think that COVID has made the job haunting process harder (in my country we are currently under 2 weeks lockdown). I hope things will get better and I can actually get some hear back from employers 😪😪😪

That's why i am against rising the minimum wage. It's weaken the educational system. A mcdonalds employee will be making the same as a teacher. lol. But in all seriousness. If you get a degree in arts. You can basically work in any field. Companies are willing to hire rookies and drop seniors because of pay.
just say you're selfish and greedy & go. instead we should be paying teachers more while also raising the minimum wage. no one should have to live on $7.25 an hour that's no liveable at all and messed up

Have you done any research on how much you would expect to make for your Major, and what type of jobs you would expect to work in?
Tks for the video. I'm from Brazil and I graduated with a bachelors degree in public relations. its been 6 months since I graduated and I'm still unemployed. All my colleagues from Uni are employed and thriving. It's hard not to think like I'm a failure because I tried so hard to get in the course just to end up unemployed after graduation. As it's not so expensive to go to Uni around here, I'm thinking about getting back to uni to get a business degree. It's not what I want, but I hate being unemployed. Also, I hate the judgment of people around me, I feel like they think I'm lazy which it's not true because I'm applying for jobs that are 34 KM away from my house and also accepting to work on Saturday, but I still don't hear back from those companies. I hope you are doing great.
First of all - you are not a failure! Everyone has their own path after graduation and this just happens to be yours. That doesn’t mean you’re failing, you’re just figuring out your path. It sucks in the moment but I promise you’ll find something and in 10 years, you will barely think of this phase in your life. You got this 💜
@@corinnecarole Thanks for the nice message. I'm back to share that now I have a job on the field that i wanted and i'm feeling very happy with the opportunities i was granted. Once again, thank you so much for the kind words.
Lol fellow 2020 grad here. We're also finally having in-person graduation in September, but at this point I care more about seeing my friends again than the actual ceremony.
100% agree!
I've been finding a job for 3 weeks now too. Yes, it took them weeks to contact me,but after getting all my basic info, I've never heard them back again. I'm living with my fam, rent free, but I've bills to pay.I'm soon to graduate in Aug.
you are so resilient...you are so damn strong...you are so beautiful. i just wanna tell that ...in the end ...everything will be fine.
It's been 9 months of interviews then going to the second round of interviews to then be rejected! I am majorly depressed!!
did you get a job now..I get a new job but didn't pass probation now jobless again..now I regret it..
@@bella8145-d9z I did get a new job in August as a Learning Designer for a PA company. I've only recently been applying for about a week and just passed the first stage of 2 application processes. Hoping I get something before the New Year. Best of luck to you!! Something will come along!
Watching this on my one year anniversary of graduating from receiving a masters and still unemployed 🤣
Ugh it’s so hard! All I can say is it may take a bit, but you’ll find something I’m sure of it 🙂
Hey, I graduated in December 2020 and I am only working part-time and I am still finding a full-time job now. It's tough to find a full-time job now, but you will find something one day and it's going to suit you!
Thank you! We will both find something great, I’m sure of it 😊
I finished my uni basically 2 years ago, in August 2019.
2 years?? I can’t imagine. I really hope you’re able to register your degree soon so you can work in your field 💜
thanks for making this video, I relate with everything you said, still unemployed and it's 2022 trying to be as positive as I can get in this new year 🥲 anyways love your positive energy keep going I'm rooting for ya 💛😊
It’s so hard after graduating to find your path, but we got this! Also I just subscribed to your channel, I love your videos 💙
@@corinnecarole aww thank you so much, it means alot! 😊
watching this as an unemployed man in his 30s.
Not sure what the answer is.
your skin is so pretty.
Thank you so much for this.
College is becoming less worth it.
I'm here because I'm retired and not working. Not looking for a job because I don't know what job is. I just day trade and make it my job.
I feel the same. I have been losing my words a lot after covid-19, and I am still in college until fall 2023.
I love your openness and honesty
Thank you! 😊
I got a job straight out of college but it is a living hell and makes me work 80 hours a week
Sounds lit.
Everything you said is so true. Their view is biased but don’t say there are people with a PHD making 12k a year like here in America 😅
Ugh yeah, it’s ridiculous 🤦🏼♀️
You’re awesome! Thank you for recommending green lights I’m going to check it out! ✨
Thank you! And I loved it, it’s great 😊
It is all good and dandy till you realize that nobody will date or marry you unless you have a job already, especially if your field is nationality restricted such as aviation. I’m in a cache 22 as Canada has an overly strained job market and I’m an ERAU Grad who could get work I’m at Boeing, Lockheed but can’t due to the requirement to be a US citizen (even here in their Canadian branches)
Cache 22?
It's the same case with me. I graduated with a Finance degree but because I wasn't able to do an internship due to the Pandemic even though I had 2 months of job experience as a Budget Analyst. The first job is the hardest and is always taking a toll on me. Your degree will only get you a few interviews but if you don't have any job experience you won't get hired.
Work part-time in a cafe etc while looking for a job
parents should teach their children as they grow up how the economic system works and what to do to make some profits ,bucks . waiting too long for that can be harsh .
My friend went to UB 😮 I have graduated but been working in a restaurant still *sigh, it’s been a year
Colleges should be forced to give full redunds like every other business...cool shout out to the parents in the video
What are your requirements? One is location is often the cause, or demands to basically be in charge of all your time. NO chance of getting a job.
Been two years almost now.
Thanks for making this
have you done internships while you were in college?
I did! I had summer internships and then did jobs all throughout college (in research and residential life)
samefeels unemployed over a year and a half ima sub maybe it can help.
where do u think is best places to search for a job? in person or websites or?
Love this 👌🏿
"Privileged" sounds like too strong a term and too self-deprecating (forgive me for giving my opinion). You're loved--and fortunate to have the parents you do. Be happy God damnit. Lol
Ditto on the memory issues over the past yr btw.
I know people who who went to two years of trade school and are making 6 figures
That's where the money is! Graduated with a degree in engineering and still unemployed (in my field) 2 years later. Going to do an electrical apprenticeship since it's related to my field of study but on a lower level.
@@solomonthell7589 nice, good luck!
I have a degree in communication and I’m unemployed as well after one year. I’m in grad school. But, I’m seriously debating dropping out and going to trade school to be a plumber
I knew you were going to say psychology.
You have to get a PHD for that to get you anywhere.
Actually a common misconception! You’d be surprised how many people in high-level positions have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and nothing else. More education doesn’t always equate to getting better positions.
@@corinnecarole It needs to be combined with technical skills. I studied philosophy and now have a career as an animator. However, I had a large portfolio which is what landed me the job.
Are you still job searching?
I am actually not anymore!
I was never unemployed. I was out of college on a Friday and started work on Monday. I was only 20 at the time. Never been unemployed at any point in my life.
Got a job before I graduated, never went back.
When you major in psychology....
have you thought about modeling ?
A liberal arts degree is a waste of time and a waste of money.
Can you stop
@@arbitrarylib stop what? You want me to stop telling people the truth about spending $100k for an education that has almost zero demand or use in the real world? Do you want another wave of students who want their student loans cancelled courtesy of the taxpayer because they blame others what is obviously their choice to get into? Or maybe it just hurts their feelings. They are called the snowflake generation after all.
Have you yet gotten a job?
Bidenomics. At least no mean tweets. right?
OMG me too
RH sucks 🤣🤣 they should hire uss
Youre so funny and interesting
You're funny.
Thank you!
That's why i am against rising the minimum wage. It's weaken the educational system. A mcdonalds employee will be making the same as a teacher. lol. But in all seriousness. If you get a degree in arts. You can basically work in any field. Companies are willing to hire rookies and drop seniors because of pay.
just say you're selfish and greedy & go. instead we should be paying teachers more while also raising the minimum wage. no one should have to live on $7.25 an hour that's no liveable at all and messed up
Teachers and fast food employees should have a livable wage. Just because the minimum wage is rise doesn’t mean it should make an educated individual less valuable.
@@aracelyalva So education is not worth it? I guess
@@Jorge.fernandx that’s not what I said
We need a Living Wage
Uuuuugh get real! Try 10 years of grinding! Kids these days need to learn some gratitude
What was your degree in?
