  • In this video, I provide an installation overview of the Evinrude ETEC G1 engine interface cable on my Stratos 294XL, paired with a Lowrance Elite FS9. Discover where the interface cable is located on the G1 150 - 200 HP motors, how I routed it, and see an example screen setup. Note: This is not a detailed step-by-step installation guide.

Hola, saludos desde España. Sabe si se podría poner el NMEA 2000 para una Lowrance FS y un evinrude E Tec 50Hp?

Yes I believe it can. I had a 60 hp ETEC with NMEA before this 150 hp

Why would my I command gauges and Lowrance unit not be receiving fuel data ?

I could be that you need a fuel data manager. This device allows fuel used, fuel remaining, etc. www.lowrance.com/lowrance/type/sensors-networking/fuel-data-manager-pk/ However, you should get instant fuel usage without the fuel data manager.

Hi, thanks for the video of etec engine data on elite FS. Are you able to confirm if the Elite FS calculates the fuel used and fuel remaining (when you input how many gal you put in) from the Etec data?

The Elite FS only shows data that the ETEC EMM (Computer) puts on the NMEA 2000 network. The Elite FS can also put data on the NMEA 2000 network. What the ETEC EMM needs to know is how much gas is in the tank. I don't think the Elite FS has that ability, in theory, it may be able to input gallons in the tank. The Evinrude ICON gauges definitely allow input of gas added to the tank and therefore fuel remaining. I will look at the Elite FS later this week.

@@kwc228 thanks. Yes I think you understand what I’m asking and it would be great if you could check when it suits. My Etec system check command gauge did this (same as the icon gauges). But my gauge failed and I can find a new one, so I’m thinking about buying new sounder to get my fuel management back.

@@danroberts5924 To have fuel used and remaining, you will need a fuel memory manager - SKU LOW000-11522-001
or Product Number: 0768454 on the NMEA network. It will save fuel used during each power cycle of the engine so that you will get actual fuel remaining, etc. The ETEC has the current fuel flow, etc., but likely needs to have the data about the vessel tanks in a memory module.

@@kwc228what if the I command gauges are not receiving fuel remaining data ?

That should be coming from NMEA. I am not sure on this one. Have you tried a gauge reset?
