Hello any idea on what the problem was connecting to the garmin, I have the same problem not getting any of the motor readings. Thanks for the video very well explained
Well done! Great explanation of the engine NMEA connection. You said that you were not able to get the data on the Garmin screen? It should be able to connect to the NMEA bus and play along with the Lowrance and Yamaha. Just do what I do in the airplane... keep pushing buttons until you figure it out. In all seriousness, make sure that you have updated the software on the units. My experience with Garmin is that when there's an update, you want it on there yesterday. As for your mentality on engine maintenance, you are very wise! As a civilian pilot and military aircraft mechanic, you're treating your boat like an airplane. If people did that with their cars and boats, they would not break down nearly as often as they do (most don't even check tire pressures on the car or trailer). I call it keeping the big bad wolf away by being proactive. Well done, sir! I'm subscribing!
So a outboard motor I face cable needs to be purchased for my 2021 Yamaha 50? Then I need 2 T for drop cables to the engine and the Garmin Echomap? And a 3rd T for the backbone power supply? The a male and female termination resisters, one for each end?
hey i have a question can i connect the interface cable from the motor directly to the gps to the nema 2000 plug in or do i need a command link getaway
Thanks for watching verdant dujmovic. Unfortunately, my zx190 doesn’t come equipped with a Yamaha gauge. I Suspect this is how they kept the price low. This is why I installed a nmea 2000. I don’t have a oil change reminder. I just write the hour on my oil filter at the time I change but I change my before a 100 hours.
Hello, I also want to connect a yamaha 150f detl 2016, but the service technician mentioned to me that I need an adapter for the yamaha engine. As I see it, you mounted it without a jumper and everything works?
Nice job wearing that up. I have a question for your power cable did you hook the positive and -2 your ignition switch switch or directly to the battery not sure what to do there thank you.
Jeff Ghigo. Tanks for watching. My boat came pre wired with a power to my auxiliary switch wires ran. So I just hook up to that wire and I could power off and on with my auxiliary switch. That how I power mine. Hope this was helpful. And sorry it told me 2 days to get you an answer.
Good job! Found the solution to my engine hours display by watching your video - Thanks
Thank you for the info. Just waiting on my cable now.
Your welcome fishing fool. Hope you love it like I do. And thanks for watching.

I never looked into the issue Ivanmoreno. I works great on my lowrance units so I never looked back.
Thank you, just the info I needed :)

Thank you Brian W. And welcome to the channel.
Great video. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
great video, thanks for sharing!
Your welcome Lee pierce.
Hey Ed,. I ended up finding a couple after I saw you yesterday at P-Flat. It was a grind tho. Seems like all they wanted was MM on the DS.💯
What’s up Eric! Yeah they finicky like that. DS is all they want sometime. But I do catch’em on a SH from time to time.
Nice job!
Thanks JR
Great job!
Thank you for watching jhwright07.
There are a few interface cables on Amazon some ranging from 35 to 90 dollars I have the f70, they all seem the same not sure which one to get thx
If you have a Yamaha, I got the lowrance Yamaha interface cable.
Great video!

You are correct beyondupnorth. I used the lowrance interface cable.
Helo thanks so you only run o e wire only ,,nothing else i have a garmin 94sv thanks
Yes, wire from my engine and you have to run a power wire at the console or the battery it self.
hey i have a question can i connect the interface cable from the motor directly to the gps to the nema 2000 plug in or do i need a command link getaway
I am not sure. But I think you will need a Network Port Expander.
How is that you don’t have Yamaha gauges or display?
And how you reset oil change reminder?

Great video, however it is a water impeller not propeller.
Troy, thanks for watching and the correction.
Did you have any problems getting data on the Lowrance? I just installed the system on a Yamaha to Lowrance and I can’t get anything.
Bluexpress2242 no I don’t have any issues. Check the power wire.
@@sixfivefishing1528 Thanks will do.

Urban Cunder apologize for not responding to your message until now. Yes, mine works great!!
Can you connect this direct to the lowrance or do you need a HUB?
Thanks for watching. Yes, or any unit that supports a NMEA 2000.
@@sixfivefishing1528 your welcome & thx for the info!
Ed, what power source did you hook the NEMA 2000 up to ? they say not to the starting battery ? Thano you Don
Hi D hardy. I use my auxiliary switch that power my Graphs. I found that to work for me.

Does it read fault code?
I’m not sure about fault code. If I had to guess, I would say no.
Did you use the screws that came in the box to flush mount it? I just bought this unit and thought it would have bolts and wing nuts for mounting.
Thanks for watching Justin Abbott. My lowrance come pre-mounted when bought the boat.
