No matter what connotation you give the word, flying is totally exhilarating, and I can't think of any other song/music which captures that exhilaration so completely.
During the late 90s and early 2000's, FatBoy Slim was just cranking hit after hit - Ya Mama, Weapon of Choice, Star 69, Praise You, Rockafeller Skank... what an awesome time it was to be a teenager!
The original version of this poem is found on the album "An American Prayer" by Jim Morrison (from The Doors). He was awesome at writing and reciting poetry, but personally, I think FatBoy Slim has given it a great final touch =)
You've nailed it right there. Jim Morrison got upgraded to the 21st century by Fat boy Slim. I was wandering around at Glastonbury and there he was at this small bar; blink and you'd miss it. Guess who was on the decks? Fat Boy Slim. Man I was blown away. It was like 50-60 of us and this genius (and I don't use that word lightly). Was there owning it. You'd think he was playing for 10,000 people, not just us. That was a moment man. It was the year that Dolly Parton kicked ass to hundreds of thousands of people. 2014 I think.

true. Back then, video clips were like minifilms, and they were shot by directors. Almost every clip had an idea. Now the clips are a pale shadow of what was filmed in the 90s-00s.

I first saw this as a kid. All I remembered was that it had a jet pilot in it. I just didn't understand what it was about until re-watching it as an adult now. In 1964, the time that the world got the closest to widespread nuclear war, the pilot is thinking about that anti-nuke campaign ad. And he has a hallucination / nightmare about being asked to start nuclear Armageddon , when he goes AWOL, possibly as a reaction to real life memories of bombing campaigns in southeast Asia. It's an anti-war video. I was too young to understand that plot as a kid! It's not just pretty visuals, it's a brilliant short film!
