Man I so miss the cassette era, it was so tactile. Having to slot it into your walkman, slapping the door close, the big clunky buttons, needing to flip the cassette or manually rewind it. It felt like I was maintaining a gun while growing as a 90s kid. Modern digital touch screen stuff just feels lifeless in comparison.

I've started listening to music by watching music videos at about 6/7 years old. Fatboy was one of the first (if not really the first) artist I could recognize and loved (and I still do) his music. This song is always both very energetic as well as back-in-time journey :D

There is a "Making of..." video of how they made this. They filmed this in Grenada, and they actually built and destroyed an entire town market for the video. For the weird dance scenes they attached long poles to the actors' arms and hips and yanked them all over the place. The poles were pained blue so they can be easily removed in post.
Any Bigbeat band was excessively popular in Russia, you can go check comments - Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, Bomfunk MC's - all of them are filled with russian comments. This music was so perfectly fit Russia's 90's in terms of aesthetic that it's really strangely good.

He makes me laugh even more. especially with the heroes. or how a huge man dragged them with a stick tied to his belt to depict all these wild dances🤦😄😄😄 he also broke the wall with the body of one of the heroes. What a legendary classic. Listening to this after 12 years, I remember listening to this song and watching this very video with my father when I was 5-6 years old. Masterpieces like this aren’t found anywhere in today’s time.

Years ago, this video had always succeeded to make me laugh my ass off. And today, I accidentally found this video again, and I just laughed as hard as I did years ago :D
20 years later, music still rocks and I still don't know how they filmed this. When this goes on MTV, my cousin and younger brother would watch it and I will grab them and flail them around
There is a "Making of..." video of how they made this. They filmed this in Grenada, and they actually built and destroyed an entire town market for the video. For the weird dance scenes they attached long poles to the actors' arms and hips and yanked them all over the place. The poles were pained blue so they can be easily removed in post.

Any Bigbeat band was excessively popular in Russia, you can go check comments - Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, Bomfunk MC's - all of them are filled with russian comments. This music was so perfectly fit Russia's 90's in terms of aesthetic that it's really strangely good.
