Just wow. When you realize on day 10 that the going is a lot harder and slower that you had planned on and .... you just keep on going.... few modern men would have the fortitude and inner strength.... cannot express my gratefulness at being able to observe your explorations.... legendary stuff... and unique content... your production quality and scene selection and management and music all blend together for a superb experience.....so well done... thank-you
@@JustinBarbournlexplorer the dogs upper nail is usually removed before exploration....... The reason this is done is because dogs always have very painful injuries from that nail........ I can tell you from experience that your dog is in a lot of pain.
Thanks again. Your adventures remind me of my first experience in the real wilderness. I took a 30 day Outward Bound course north of Thunder Bay in the middle of October..One component of this course was to be dropped off for 3 days on a tiny island with a sleeping bag, a plastic sheet for shelter and 2 cups of trail mix. They called it the Solo. The only time in my 62 years when I was really and truly alone. I also learned that when one feels completely exhausted and shattered, you actually still have amazing reserves of strength and can paddle on for hours. You already know this of course.
Justin with great respect what an amazing courage to do this trip alone with a dog ! I have had to portage - but this is the longest one ever ! this is significant by any man ....
I am watching this wilderness adventure with great admiration. It’s not just the physical strain of the portaging but the mental alertness required. I hope people realize how hard it is to do what you are doing. If this trip were a collage course it would be in a advanced doctorate program.
This popping up in my feed on my day off working at a grocery store during this pandemic after checking every day for almost 2 months made me SO happy.
Wow Justin!! This is beyond challenging. You're grit and determination very impressive! Great job on the videography, the viewer gets a real sense of the ferocity of the river and the dangers this wild country presents. And Saku!!! He's your ever loyal companion, loving the adventure as much as his master. Way to go you two! Can't wait for the next episode

You are one tough ombré and so is saku. This series is amazing such wild country. It’s just like being there. No need to enter me as you know I have the book. Probably the first one in Ontario to get one lol. I am going to look into those Lowa boots though. As soon as I kick cancers ass I’m going to need them. Take care buddy
Just want you to know how much I enjoy your adventures helping entertain my days on this quarantine and distancing times . I’m from NL but now on in Vancouver Island ,this is one of the best outdoors videos I’ve ever seen ,Thankyou 👍👍❤️🙏🏻🌎
A rugged, wild and untouched land. Many rapids, difficult to traverse but oh so beautiful. Loving this series and need to share to my personal FB page and Twitter. ❤
Amazing how nature can battle against you in so many different ways. I’m in awe Justin of your sheer brute strength matched with bloody determination - a winning combination
Justin, just discovered you today while here at home in Denmark. I’m a Nova Scotian and use to do a lot of back country paddling. My son lives on the rock. Really great videos. Very much looking forward to the ones coming. Saku is great. I’m a dog person and never heard of the Cape Shore Water Dog. Very cool! I use to trip with my bouvier. She loved the adventures. You are keeping me very entertained when I really need distraction. Thank you.
Thanks for subscribing Heather we're happy to have you! Saku is a unique breed of dog from Newfoundland. Not a pure bred but a mix of several breeds. There's a long story behind it. Take care we'll catch you in the next one : )
Can’t help but thinking 🤔 if you started at the other end, you could have just rode the river. 😂He’ll of a walk though. Well done, epic adventure, really enjoyed the journey.
Hello, dear, Justin, your crossing the Labrador is such an amazing and exciting adventure! I am so grateful to be like this invited to join your hard efforts when you progress the wild country mile after mile! All respect! Wishing you and your faithful Saku all the very best! Greetings from Sweden! ❤👍👍👍🏁
your quiet confidence is admirable wild country can be creepy but beautiful at the same time the wild is not friendly not hostile just indifferent to humanity
I’ve done many a river trip, but none having to run/portage upstream all the way! The scenery and waterways is very similar to parts of the Yukon and northern B.C. (without the mountains). Burn areas are great for firewood, and often mushrooms shortly after. I admire your determination and resilience. This is the way of our forefathers, and our land would never had been explored and conquered without certain people determined to take ‘the hard way’. Beautifully shot, and edited. I know using a lapel or shotgun mic is out of the question, so subtitles and such are perfect. Kudos to you and Saku.
Well, that was intense. Every step seemed like a struggle. Triple carry portages thru thick bush. And you set up the camera for filming the whole way. Saku is a beast too. Very impressive. Thank you, that was great.
Stay tuned for winter 2021 when Saku and Justin pull a broken down 16 Elan from Eclipse River, Labrador, to the ferry in Blanc-Sablon!!! man you are a beast!!!
Hey buddy - under house arrest for 14 days after coming back from Florida - watching your episodes is helping the time go by - adding some reality to what’s going on and best of all relaxing the mind in these crazy times - thanks Justin - give ole Saku a scratch on the ear for me

Definitely making Newfoundland look like a weekend at your neighborhood park with this one! Great adventure as always. Definitely helps us get through this lockdown! Glad youre back!
You know you are amazing! I'll tell you again, though! The strength and endurance it took to pull and drag through the swallow and Rocky sections is a test of your amazing will power! Pat Dali on the head for me. Great video series, Justin! Stay healthy!
After seeing "Man and Dog. Through the Newfoundland Wilderness" and now episodes 1&2 of this series I am really looking forward to the next episodes...…..better than anything on the TV

Thank you for all of the efforts you put into sharing your adventures so freely.
