Another superb vid. Thankyou for taking the time to make this. I'am disabled after years with spinal damage and it would be my dream to be able to do this. I did it with a course when i was just 17 years old. " and absolutely loved it. I can only walk very short distances and that's just one of the problems i have. Man let me tell you I think you're a genuinely good person man you and your pup doing your thing in the wild I would love to camp out with you guys you seem like a really fun dude to chill with man taking advantage of the wild man that's what we should be doing not cramped in little cities God bless you too, come on everybody subscribe this man needs to be a legend

Hey Justin... I grew up in the woods with canoes and chasing brook trout in small lakes and streams Knew little about Newfoundland so I appreciate you taking me with I have explored the coasts of Quebec New Brunswick Nova Scotia by small sailboat out the great lakes from northern which was quite an adventure and I wrote a book about it called from blueberries to blue seas. Getting up there I'm 73 now but videos like yours are drawing me back to canoes and brook trout Curt ... Back in the woods on a river in northern Minnesota
When I saw your paddles, blades up, I thought, "Now wouldn't a nice big bull Moose like to take a run at those"... To see you and Saku running for your lives with a angry, snorting Bull on your heels, glad that DIDN'T come to pass... Great vid as always...
Somehow I missed this one🤔. Always enjoy your adventures. Reminds me of my "Bushpacking" days. 5days, a few weeks, several months, I once did a year back in 1980. I just may be old enough now to head out once again and never come back. Kuddos, cheers and blessings Justin. ✌️🤍🕊️
Yeah , Justin , Love those new shades, in one scene You were walking across the meadow and disappeared right in front of my eyes. Must have been those Cammo shades blending You in with the 🌳 🌲 Not eating enough can make a person Lethargic.Justin . Mike .
I've been a patron for just over a year... its nice to see my money go to a channel I can respect... much love Justin, bear and Saku! Also Send blessings to your better half!
Those caribou walk with the grace of a ballerina so light on their feet …a beautiful animal …life unspoiled by man …thanks ever so much for sharing these precious moments with those of us less fortunate blessings wished for your Christmas and the New year …
Awesome adventure. I remember seeing ads on Facebook way back when, about a feller crossing Newfoundland I waited for it watched it many times it’s for sure one of my favourites and I’ve been around ever since enjoying your videos keep ‘em coming. and I think the wind may have blown that brook trout in 🤣
I've been watching you for a good couple of years now and I've watched a few other doing what you're doing justin. They are a penny halfpenny to you. Top fan
Was happy to see this video out I've been waiting for Saku and your new wilderness adventure and what a Fine place this is love seeing the wildlife & backcountry Newfoundland how gorgeous it is . watch this in HD very epic beautiful lake area so pretty. Nice quananiche. catches . what an epic adventure really enjoyed this and look forward to the next, thanks for bring us with Saku and yourself . .... Ontario Happy Canada Day to Heather and yourself
Got to admit that going to miss Saku on those futur fishing trips. But I can understand the decision.Lake fishing is always unpredictable. So always carry and extra noodle pack heading to one.Lol !!Fun video. Always enjoy those fishing outings.
Excellent presentation of a fun adventure. My mom and her dad always ate the fish heads. Nice easygoing style man with some good genuine Newfie wisdom. Cheers
That's my 2nd one. First one I used for all my trips up until the 52 day 2020 journey. Had about 300 nights in it though and it's still in good shape. But I got an expedition grant for the 2020 haul and decided to get a fresh one - excellent travel home!
Hey Justin, just curious if MSR ever did anything for you when the poles gave you some problems? I have the lesser MSR elixir tent and have had great luck with it for the first two years.
I wish i still had my good health so that i could still get out there for a bit of wild camping. It's the dogs bollocks " you can't beat it...!! Thanks for the vids, it beats that other thing i absolutely hate. " ( Glamping ). All the good places i used to go to are all ruined now, with people playing loud music and so called tents that look like bars, with lights all around them and people leaving bags of rubbish behind. Also some other good marks i know has signs up now , no more camping , due to people leaving their rubbish behind. It's sad. Anyway i enjoy ur vids and the fact when you leave, you leave no rubbish behind. Giving other people a chance to enjoy the land. Keep up with the great vids their awesome. 👍
Your videos are exceptional. You are a great teacher. As with many of your other viewers I’m certain, I’d love to be with you. You make it happen vicariously. Thank you.
I canoe and backpack with a Lab retriever much like you do with Saku, Last week there was an article in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune about a group canoeing in the BWCA area of northern Minnesota with a mixed breed Lab. Apparently the dog went on a free lance ramble on a portage and went missing for 29 days, Fortunately the animal wandered into a resort area located approximately 30 straight line miles from his last known location. FWIW..I hang a cow bell from my dog's collar which is also "hunter orange" color when we are tripping. Tough to keep close track of the dog with a canoe on your shoulders and bushwacking a trail. Just a thought for Saku's safety and your peace of mind.
I'm gonna comment on this even before I watch it. I know it will be epic. I have yet to be disappointed with any of your videos, then again the back country of this province has never disappointed me. Keep it up and keep sharing what you love.
I haven’t commented before I don’t think. Just wanted to let you know that I find yours vids very entertaining and informative. I live through your adventures. Looking forward to my first solo adventure this year maybe. I’m 53. I’ve left it long enough. Lol. Keep on having fun! Watching from Hamilton Ontario.
Your awesome about yr dog.... I can see why he's hard to take fishing...I'm certain he's great on other trips but yeah 😏👍 he's an awesome boy tho eh..yr trip is amazing...I'm fascinated by Newfoundland so got my interest right off the bat😊
I love my own company out and about in the bush. Always have. Great survival tips. I bet there are nice brookies in that lake but the conditions weren't there.
Beautiful territory there nothing like a good meal of trout and bannock very outdoors mans dream right there and old Justin is there and doing it you are living the life while you can
Watching Saku and your interactions and conversations with him are an integral half to your expeditions. A lot of cuts feature him, you'll replace those with lonely albeit beautiful landscapes, he is a vehicle in telling your story. You make a great team, and Iit always makes me happy to think all he wants is to be is by your side and how lucky he is over dogs who never get to see much outside of their backyard or some even less. Don't be hasty making the decision in leaving him behind without considering what you are leaving behind. Love your videos.
Nice little adventure there. Although, I didn't like hearing about leaving Saku at home. It's amazing all the caribou you saw. What a wild place New Foundland is. It beats Illinois. :)

A piece or 2 of that old stove would make a good anchor for that little boat. I still believe that about the wind. My grandad taught that to my Pop & then he told me. When the wind is in the East, it's not fit for man nor beast.
Enjoying your channel, I can't afford to pay for fuel so I made a Hobo Stove (from old metal coffee can)to heat water for coffee # 2 pour over. Wood is free .... high as Hell from Orygun !!!!
Your comment about N/NE wind not being good for fishing remanded me of my late dad's similar comment. I am originally from northern Finland my dad was born in 1917 left home @ age of 12 to work as lumber jack lived in the woods without permanent home until he was 32. He used to say to me when I went for fish as a kid he looked outside and said that "go on son, but with wind from north your only catch today will be more experience" Have found that to be true in other fishing expeditions as well.
Thanks for another quality video by's! Makes me want to get back out there myself 👌🏻 appreciate the continued inspiration, looking forward to the next one, all the best, Matt 👍🏻
