@@speedyblacksheriff R154 is a very capable factory box Sammit has just been unlucky here as he said in the video probably been heavily beaten and not well serviced. On a dedicated drifter you generally don't see issues till 450-500+hp area, Street & light track it's not uncommon for them handle 600hp area.
before you buy a new starter. try making a heat shield. there are lot's of cars I've seen suffer from that problem and they will throw a new starter on to then replace it again in a few weeks or months for the same issue. so what usually happens to cause that is the starter solenoid on the starter motor gets heat soaked and everything expands locking the solenoid plunger so it can't make the contacts to make the starter turn over then as it cools off it contracts and then the plunger can move again making it work like there was never a problem. so you can bend up a piece of aluminum to shield it from heat and if the space allows leave a channel for air to flow through. my chevy pickup was having the same problem because I had headers on it and the heat radiating off those headers was heat soaking my starter. I just cut a section of aluminum out of a crashed audi hood then bent and drilled holes in it so it mounted using the starter bolts but protected the starter from the heat and problem solved. so I would try that first to save a few bucks.
Ok now this makes sense, mine have done this about 4 times since i have owned it. But its been over two and a half years. Might just go ahead and change out the starter
This is why I hate using the e-brake, stopping the entire driveline then shocking it back to 60-100mph speeds ain't good for longevity. unless I'm about to crash into someone or getting paid to drift I never use the e-brake I just manji, faint or clutch kick it while slipping the clutch a little

sammit you need to get the heat cover for your turbo and also they make them for your starter super nice and should keep you starter from burning up and keep engine temps and air temps lower

Sucks when you get a car that was already drifted. First event in my Cd swapped ls400 the pilot bearing grenades it self and got between the clutch, flywheel and killed it.
time for a BMW zf trans the cd trans doesnt fit well in toyotas without some hammer time and there geared horrible for the available final drives in the jzx zf trans small light weight and can handle more power than your gonna put out
