- Here's the High-Grade 1/144 scale Turn A Gundam. It's simple, cheap, and very effective. Details and articulation are nice and all together makes for a great HG version of the White Doll!

I personally prefer the MG due to the fact that it comes with a Gundam Hammer and a 1/100 scale cow that can be stored in the chest.

@@kidrobot. I find hg kits to be better for trying out new painting skills, and sometimes the construction is better than the mg counterpart, namely the unicorn and victory gundam v1 and v2

I love Turn A so much. It’s definitely different from other Gundam anime, but I loved it. My favorite Gundam anime for sure.

yes, definitely one of my fav series. At first i was a bit uncomfortable with the mustache look, but once i watch the anime man it was really good..
There was a cool Turn A custom I saw a while back that looked like Waluigi called the Turn L.

I bet the butterfly wings would be P Bandai. But RG is the Turn X and Turn A would be awesome especially if Bandai follows how they made the Sazabi and Nu Gundam RG kits.
@@coleviloria3800 exactly my point. The way RGs are being made right now, and with the unique designs. But would be cooler if the effect parts are also included.
yes, i really wish they make the RG version, but i'm a bit sceptical about the butterfly wings effect tho, most likely would be P Bandai just like destiny

@@kaigen999 almost there! I collect either an MG or HG version of a lead and either the 1st gundam or 2nd gundam (example is freedom or strike freedom). I'm almost there. Just missing Alex 2.0 and ZZ.
Thanks for reviewing this one! It's one of those designs I never really examined closely as the initial glace just didn't grab my eye. After seeing this, I've found I really dig it! Especially with that lower price point, I think I'll nab this one first as I delve into the series.

Not a big fan of the "El Mustachio" head but I do like the quirky design and even the articulation is somewhat interesting! I think I'll be adding this kit to my New Year shopping list! Thanks Zach for the review!

It's gorgeous with it. There's a crap ton of detail all over that panel lining makes pop.
Yeah, Syd Mead heavily uses lines as patterns on his designs, and the Turn A is no exception to this

USA Gundam Store has the best customer service I've seen so far. Have never regretted any purchased I made from them.
If they happen to make a mistake, don't take it easy on them. Make sure they fix it. I'm just going to say their success rate is not 100%, so make sure you take care of business.
@@TsorovanZero I know about that. A few times I bought something and it turned out they messed up on their availability on a kit and didn't send anything. But they did refund me at least whenever I called them so they are very good at that.
@@kaigen999 Yeah it's fine if you stick to them about it. It's just they're busy, so they'll forget if you let it slide even a little.
Yeah customer service is great there but their pre orders take forever to come in. usually months after they release in Japan, so they're not great for new things

just imagine, the disign of this model kit was developed by Syd Mead. I miss this grate guy
He designed the whole Turn A Gundam in and out, including the whole inner frame and the workings of the leg fins since he's impressed by the MG model kit's inner frame for mobile suits; his design is directly used in the MG model kit and it's completely faithful to how Syd Mead designed the Turn A Gundam, making it the first Gundam model to have an inner frame designed since Day 1

It's a shame the Moonlight Butterfly nanomachine wings are P-Bandai only & still costs too much in the "used" market.
Of course coolest feature of Turn A has to be P-Bandai so that Bandai can get even more money from us.

I'm actually partial to the Chinese knock off effect parts for this guy. They don't have the holographic effect of the P-Bandai so the work really well if you are panel lining and going over it with a matte coat. Gives it a more animation styled look.
love the 'Stache Gundam so bad! one very awesome design, specially those legs and oh so cool fins in the back, such a Legend!
I've been planning on a custom build for my MG Turn A for a while now and almost got the design down, just need to make adjustments to the new parts so it matches the Turn A's design and then I can get started

HG G-Self comes with super thin beam sabers. Maybe those can fit?

I just built this, it looks fantastic. The ankle joint is one of the worst I've seen simply because of the design. I used Dspaie paint markers instead of the stickers. It's a little hard to color inside the lines with such sharp areas, but it looks alright, I suppose. I will say the hand ball joints pull off at the slightest provocation, and the upper arm-to-elbow joint also likes to fill out. The elbow joint itself is super tight, so be careful when handling. Very solid build, but the hip-to-leg joint is a little loose and it has a tendency to splay only when actively posing. The beam rifle is a bit awkward to pose as it doesn't fit well in the elbow. This kit looks really nice, however. Solid HG for a great suit. Side note, I hate safety flags passionately, as I mostly build HGs.
For the detailing, gundam markers worked really well!
One thing i totally can't understand or justify is the stickers for the front of the rifle. There was already red on the runner, all it would take is a small flat red triangle to sandwich between the sides of the gun and there would be no need for those at all. Just why?!

the articulation was decend for 2014 kit
the problem is when i want to paint the micolour black on the arms the paint is bleeding to the panel line resulting some thick black line and it looks bad
i sugguesting just paint the turn a logo on the head

I have the turn a and One of the only complaints I have is the stickers on the rifle, it could of easily been a triangle of red plastic.
Indeed I think all the red of the rifle could have been done with a single piece

I have this kit and mine as a super loose wrist so when I use the open hands Turn A has a limp wrist.

@@kaigen999 it's either hit or miss. the articulation dropped a little bit if you compare it to the HG AGE line (they're basically on par with the Gundam 00 season 2 HGs) some kits are sticker heavy too. if you like kit bashing, some HG G Reco looks good mixed with HG IBO kits.

I like turn a gundam haha. It's funny looking and I find I am a sucker for funny looking suits. If you know of any more hg suits that are funny looking please let me know. I am fairly new to gunpla building and only do HG right now. I started March of this year. (2019)
Well, you could try the Gogg... or the Juaggu... or the Acguy... or any other Zeon MSM series suit for that matter XD

oh geez, the HG is put together so differently from the MG....
The MG has a ton of loose external armor parts where some of the stickers are on this kit are and I'm thankful I won't have to repeat those nightmares.

@@kidrobot.sadly mine has a couple spots where things won't stay put when I try to pose it until after I'm done posing. And the shoulder armor doesn't cooperate with me a lot of the time.

@@kidrobot. I might have just not put it together as correctly as I could have ten years or so back. I did eventually take a second pass at the assembled parts in case I needed to clean it up but it’s actually just that the skirt flaps, armor, and hands are a little prone to not going where I want them to, and the knees will sometimes pop off. I also had a really hard time painting the turn A on the helmet a shiny green but that’s a separate gripe, and it looks lovely now that it’s painted.
I only have these issues while posing though it’s fantastic once I get it into a pose and has not once had issues.

Nanomachines, son. The P Bandai HGBF Turn A Gundam Shin was the first HGCC I bought them I have this Turn A HGCC in my backlog. The P Bandai version has a more traditional Gundam look to it, which I really enjoy but the Turn A itself isn’t iconic too. I hope we see more HGCC kits come from HGBDR kits like the Wadom that is in its planning phase.

That's the worst looking gun that should be so much better. That's one gun that I would definitely be painting, if I pick it up. I want to see the Anime 1st though. Both the gun and the suit definitely needs lining and I normally think it's a option for most kits but this is a must for me.
Yeah I think a red piece to go between the white halves of the gun would have been much better
