The newer RG kits are best explained in sentence:
They have the plastic quality of a PG and the detail and build of A MG.
As the Size of a HG, just built RG Sazabi as my second gunpla yesterday (my first was the RG RX-78-2, it looks so small now XD) and it's just do impressive to look at and mess around with, can't wait for my RG Nu Gundam to get here

Agreed save for the RG Sazabi. I am waiting on my Nu Gundam to come in, but the Sazabi I built 3 months ago and unlike say any of the rg seed series, it still feels solid.

Is this worth a purchase if I already own the MG Nu ver ka?
I'm guessing the reason the Action Base adapter plugs in onto the backpack as opposed to the crotch is that the Fin Funnels might make it top heavy thus will have a bit of a balancing issue and the crotch mounted adapter might not be able to hold the weight.
Is what they did on the MG Hi-Nu and that thing poses like a boss 👌

Panel lining this kit goes a long way, he has so much detail in his plates. Definitely one of my top favorites

I know some people don't like the head but I think it looks fine, definitely out-shadowed by how great the kit is as a whole.
I personally like this version of the head.ots cute and more round than the bullet like head that the Ver Ka has.so a nice Plus for me.
I find the head way more appealing, the normal Nu's longer head just looks goofy and dated to me. Probably just a matter of personal preference
its oddly appealing once you get used to it
although i think its just the gap on the neck due to the smaller face design that throws people a bit back, which i guess you can fix that by modifying the neck joint to be shorter
Actually a lot of people in chinese community hate that cute little face including me....almost a deal breaker for me
the RG head is basically similar to the RX78-2 head, so this for me is more natural, the Movie head justt looks poorly proportioned.
I still love my MG Ver ka but it must be nice being able to move it.

I already did get the Ver. Ka a couple of months back, just for it's shelf presence and Psycho Frame .
At the moment it's still part of my Backlog, though. Next to MG Sword Impulse, Qan(t), Barbatos and 4 or 5 HGs.
its nice to have both for looking and moving. and the rifle has a spot.
So strange... the Nu Gundam is a suit I never had any specific attachment to, but seeing it posed on that stand toward the end of the video gave me such a CRAZY nostalgia trip for the two years I spent in Queens... that's when I got back into building Gunpla after a very long hiatus. Just tonight I was trying to work on a custom and my efforts felt clumsy. I was frustrated. But seeing this makes me think back to when I first visited Gundam Planet in 2015...

I did mine in 2 hours. They are quite easy to work with on this kit.

When I get my hands on this guy I’m going to set it up with the two sets of three funnels I personally prefer that look and I think it eliminates the curling effect... at least until I can have them on display flying around
That's how I display my HG Nu. It's definitely a cool look! Haven't built any RGs since I was so put off by the line with a couple flimsier builds but this one looks fantastic and far sturdier than the earlier kits in the line I built
bS0up yeah the latest few are incredibly sturdy and are almost void of any of the structural flaws from earlier in the line

The 2 middle funnels are supposed to be a little higher than the two closer to the backpack

Now I want a waterslide Decals of this Gundam, I'm excited to get my PO of this badboy and paint it!

About that leg connection to the crotch, I noticed that it common to have a stress mark on that part. Is it bad or just fine?

I finally built this thing. Surprised that the legs got a little wobbly when the fin funnels were added, since it has a reputation as such a solid build. The torso is a little slippery too, when you try to turn it, the top half covering the hinge joint slips a bit before it finally overcomes the friction on the peg. Really makes me appreciate how the Sazabi has those giant damn feet and solid torso. The torso hinge seems kind of silly considering it makes it so much less solid and can't be used unless it's accordioned out...my MG 2.0 RX-78-2 has a much more solid torso, and that damn thing is hollow with a core fighter inside. I love how positive the hand connections are, the weapon is locked in and effectively becomes part of the hand. Building those fin funnels was a nightmare. It looks very impressive, but it kind of bums me out how the basic high grade and master grade 1.0 have such solid fin funnels, and the funnels are still kind of floppy.
I'm using the shield to prop up the fins, which limits the effective range of motion when they're attached, and I had to shift the right leg forward to counterbalance the weight of the funnels. Once I did that, it's in a pretty solid standing pose. I'm not sure why they insist on such short connectors when it's clear the high grade and MG 1.0 had the fin funnel connectors down. I'm thinking of getting a stand with arms and leaving 3 connected, 3 flying. This thing can get an insanely wide stance going. It really puts those long legs to work. I wish every kit had this level of ankle articulation.
The proportions of this thing are....different. It's not bad, it's a "real grade" like it says on the box, but it doesn't immediately strike me as the Nu Gundam standing on my shelf. It looks kind of like a different Gundam. I bought the Effect Wings hyper mega bazooka with the replacement faceplate, which was an improvement. I think I need to get the action base, probably from Effect Wings, to get the full enjoyment out of the kit. Standing it next to my RG Sazabi made me feel quite a sense of accomplishment, I have to say. Although the RG Sazabi is frankly a better kit, which I'm very surprised by. It's built like a tank, looks absolutely gorgeous on top of there being no doubt that it's Sazabi. The joints are also outrageously solid on the Sazabi.

The RG Sazabi, RG Nu Gundam and RG Crossbone Gundam are basically 1/144 MG'S. With their full inner frames instead of the normal RG style basic frame.

I feel like the dropped hip mode is mostly for the HWS to give them more room with the huge skirts, def needed to move those in that form. Anyway it looks great

@@BLAZE084 Probably p bandai theyve never done a full release RG add on set. Pretty sure the MG versions are limited too, though they could make a pack in version with the HWS with the whole kit if they wanted.
@@ORLY911 the MG HWS was P-Bandai. They are releasing the MG Ver. Ka with HWS included but it will be missing some detail.
Do you have problems with the shield? Mine while the shield was connected to the hand, it fits first and looks OK, but later it will fall off.

If you have the MG Nu Ver.Ka you can use the base included with that with the RG (which is the exact unit included with the DFF expansion pack, with the actual base in red instead of the MG's black). That is why the RG needs an Action Base adapter; it's designed with that in mind (fin funnels included)

I love the look of this kit but it is lacking in a few aspects like lack of sliding panels on the arms and pistons in the ankles,even the MK II has that.

I ordered both RG Sazabi and Nu Gundam with a display base each and Bandai’s New funnel effect parts at the same time But the Nu! came in First? Like damn lol I wanna leave it till last after the Sazabi sadly it’s shipping wasn’t 3x faster then the others 🙃
Definitely do the Sazabi first, it's satisfying when building it. Just be careful with the waist and arm joints they are like the sinanju's waist unit so if you aren't careful it can break. But, unlike the Sinanju, the build is very sturdy

I have the fx parts version, and it does look GLORIOUS! However, I cannot find any shooting fx part set like the mg has... so they fly, but do not fire... do I need to scratch build my own fx by melting clear runners?! Lol
I wonder if you can drill a circle hole to use a regular action base. If its to big, you could use putty to fill the gap. Just an idea for somebody with action bases but can't afford the proper base set.
You can but it will ruin the gimmick of the kit where the lower part drop down to give more articulation for the hip

Having just completed this tonight, man I gotta say the Fin Funnels almost completely ruined the enjoyment of the kit, no matter what I did they would just fall apart even after making sure that they clicked into place. Eventually just decided to cement them together, I was never going to display them any other way from the start.

It's pretty good. Though, I'd be careful since the parts are fairly small.

Hey, ZakuAurelius, with the articulation level being this high, do you think they are going to head in the direction of the G Gundam franchise eventually? I personally would love to see a RG God/Burning Gundam, a Shining Gundam, or a Master Gundam eventually.
Please! There are so many unused gundams from that franchise. I would love to see the whole shuffle alliance as a kit series

The question now is: will they release the HWS as an add-on kit like the Skygrasper was to the Aile Strike, or, will it be a complete Nu Gundam HWS kit? P-Bandai or standard release? Any thoughts?
I think unlike the Verka this will only get add-on pack p-bandai ofc the only reason there was a big boxset with both was because they changed the color of the suit to off-white and do the blue alt psycho frame neither of which can happen on the RG.
@@Firatha Honestly the psychoframe bits around the body aren't canon to me so...
Part of me hopes the HWS add-on won't be a p-bandai but given Bandai's track record it wouldn't surprise me if it was. Let's wait and see.
Only thing that makes me hesitate on buying this kit was the lack of green Psycho Frames, show accurate or not I want that MG ver.ka gimmick oh well time to get a metallic green paint to come with this kit

the nu ver ka base works with these funnels
the mg unicorn destroy mode is taller than the Mg nu so there's that. Dunno if the rg is more accurate scale wise though.
The RG is more accurate. The Nu is supposed to be 22 meters while the Unicorn in Destroy Mode is 21.7 meters.
I want to get this and the sazabi but, I know the RGs are better but the ver. Ka MGs are bigger...

It's a completely different kit.
Amazing gunpla. Only complaint is that you have to remove the backpack to pose it on the action base. That is dumb.
The backpack is just plug-and-play connection. You don't need to do any disassemble. Just think the backpack attachment is more solid than use crotch base adapter.

The funnels are quite heavy, mine can't stand straight with both funnels and shield equipped. Also the way Bandai put the attachment for the shield in the back of right hand is kinda odd.
