In the new citizenship law of 5 years, does it include the time as a student or just as permanent employment?
Total time in Germany is counted but you must have already had a full time job for more than 6 months when you apply for citizenship.

Yes family doesn't include parents
Do we need to renew PR as well?
The PR card expiry only depends on your passports validity. So if your passport expires and you renew it, you will also have to renew your PR card as well.

If one gets Permanent Residency in Germany will it speed up the process of spouse visa for Islamabad embassy ?
Unfortunately it has no effect on the process
