This is the way to travel Australia. Get off the black top and drive down a road to see whats down it.. Alot of old history to be seen.. Cant wait for more like this.
So good to see you on the old Eyre Highway .We drove the original gravel highway in 1972 and again twice in 1974before the bitumen went through . Such an adventure in those days especially a roadhouse called Ivy Tanks where you could get the best bacon burger . The blow hole at Koonalda Station is nothing to do with the ocean and its the water that has eroded the limestone making huge underground caverns and the air rushing out (or in ) is caused by a difference in air pressure . If there gas been high atmospheric pressure it pressurises the cavern and when the external air pressure drops the air rushes out of the cavern . So now welcome to our home state and enjoy yourselves .
Thank you for the explanation re the blowholes. Very interesting. You'd think someone would put up a few explanatory signs as its a ver unusual thing. Thanks. Bill
We really appreciate you going down roads less unknown. It is exactly what we would do. A really interesting vlog Elnick family..thank you. Enjoy WA! ❤️🇦🇺🦘
26 litres per 100 is real good. I had an 80 series petrol 4.5 litre that used to get 23 litres per 100 around town and not towing anything. It was disgusting. Well done guys.
Hi Guys, I have been following you for a long time now and love your videos, I see today you are in WA at Norsman, I'm not sure if you are going to travel South or North. We live 26 km East of Albany at a little place called Nanarup Beach with a population of 3 people. There are limited free camping along the coast with most charging a small fee. Some camping spots are very small so check them out before you go in and can't turn around. Look forward to your next video. Safe travels
Thanks guys, we really feel so special with you treating us to two episodes inside a week, we could get used to this, anyhow it was a great ep, loved your cooking segment Elenya, great foresight to throw everything into a pie and get an 8 from everyone as well and without charcoal, good girl. We were a bit surprised at the trucks consumption figures, can you at some stage [whenever] do a talk on the highs and lows of the trucks fuel economy and what things effect it and by how much.
I crossed the Nullarbor in Christmas 1974 with 3 mates in an FC Holden and a 20 lt drum on the roof rack 2 and a half days from Sydney to Perth non-stop driving with 300 miles of dirt across the Nullarbor no such thing as air conditioning i can still taste the bulldust. So watching you guys is making me a bit Thirsty. Love ya logo it would make a nice drink coaster carved out of wood on my CNC router cheers .
Just came through there just last month. First time ever into WA. Now selling home in western Sydney to move west. Paid $2.80 at the Nullabor Roadhouse. Great times, been following you guys for a while. Well done !
Awesome video guys. My wife and I are listing our house for sale next week so we can hit the road and try a new aspect of living instead of the “normal” way. Got twins on the way too which should make it interesting, we’ll have four under four haha! Keep it up legends
That pie looked fantastic 🏆 We’ll done girl The old highway was on my list, that just reinforced it 👍👍 The look on the boys faces when you gave them the carrots 😂😂😂
What an another fantastic episode, love it and love you guys. What a great looking pie, that French onion soup mix is such a reliable base for so many meals. 10 out of 10 for those wonderful boys taking the carrots when offered, they may not have been overjoyed with the offer, but they still took them! Regarding the pie, a handy hint is to always cool your filling before putting into the pastry base for cooking in the oven, and don’t forget to put a couple “holes” in the topping. We do love watching your alternative roads you travel on, and when we do eventually cross the Nullarbor and I think we too will go over on the old track too. You see so much more. Truly envious of the drone footage of the eagle and how amazing to see the nest and so low to inspect it. Looking forward to your next episode.
I have to not look when you were all standing on the Bunda cliffs. What an experience your having. We have crossed the Nullarbor 5 times and still love it
Great video , when catching your drone, switch to S this disables obstacle avoidance and when you grab it, quickly flip it over on its back, this switches it off without using toggles.
Thanks for the video guys. Very interesting the fuel consumed on the trip and the road less travelled. That would be a good name for your next shirt. Road less travelled.
even at 26 litres per 100km which it would be less because of the tyres changing it for you is freaking amazing! i got worse economy in my old 60 series just driving around town and on the highway. let alone towing anything! haha another great ep!
G'day folks. Just calling in from across the ditch here in EnZed. Usual story. Stumbled on to your channel. Liked and subscribed. Fair go, we don't really have the sort of drivable country like you have. As far as I know. But I could be wrong. I'm sure I've been wrong before. Keep the episodes flowing. I'll be watching anyway. Thanks for sharing. Take care and atb from over here.
I’m also from NZ and we have beautiful places and drives but they are different to Australia. For reference we have also travel Australia as well. I love them both.
These blow holes are activated by atmospheric pressure, the cave systems are huge and when the barometer rises air is forced in. When the barometer drops air blows back out.
Hi guys I love this one so much as I've done this trip myself twice but but in the 70,s we didn't have a big 4wdrive n caravan like that but did have a caravan n a old dodge towing it the pink lake was funny because when we put the film in to be developed (no digital cameras) they told me my camera was letting light in and I needed a n3w camera...guys you are doing the best thing for the boys best adventure ever
Hi guys great episode. I travelled the old roan with an Xw falcon n Millard van in the mid seventies towards Western Australia. The new road on the South Australia side was finished but was not allowed to be used while it settled . The fine for getting caught on the new sealed road was $2.00 per wheel. Happy travels
35:25 Eucla, just over the border is predominantly 20-23c per litre less. And the van park is dirt but quite nice. Washing and drying is quite cheap. The restaurant has good prices for food and alcohol - walking distance.
Another good one and plenty of free camps to be had on the nullabor is good news your fuel economy was brilliant for the weight you are carrying the better half cant stop remarking how quick Ollie is growing looks like the 80 series will be back on the road quicker than expected so Cains trip with the van is back on in June. Travel sure and look forward to more traveling and great camps in WA cheers to you all
Great video 😆👍 Don't forget to turn south at Balladonia and head down to Isralite Bay. Drop in at Mt Ragged on the way it's a top spot too. Balladonia Road, Gora Road, Fisheries Road along the side of the salt lakes.
Another enjoyable video of your travels. You’d have to be happy with the fuel economy of Suzie, most 4 X 4 use something similar towing less. Elenya, I’d give you a 10 out of 10 for your pie, it looked delicious.
There’s only one proper way to see Australia🇦🇺, and you guys are doing it “ liv’n the dream “. I’m sure the Nick was 100% right about not cooking the pastry first, but after putting all the ingredients into the pie. Good effort though Elenya.
About time you got to WA! We were actually in the 'first car' of the day at Koonalda Homestead. Good to bump into you briefly and I had you pegged as youtubers.😂 All the best guys.
Great Vid. We have crossed the nullabor a number of times (both ways) and always have a severe head wind😂. We have never done the old eyre hwy and will def do that next time we cross. PS. We have also been across the great central road a few times and there was never a quarantine station at the border. Things might be different now as the last time we crossed was 2010. Enjoy WA (we lived there for eight years and still barely scratched the service.
i always try to stop in gravel pits for overnight stops where i can. it a worth while place to over night except for one night when unknown to us there was a railway line behind us and were just settling down to sleep when a train came flying by with horn on full blast.

Along the Nullarbor there is still a whole heap of underground caves something have been documented buy cave explorers and they still have bones from where the animals have fallen from the roof not to mention there's still a whole heap more that hasn't been explored yet and on the other side of the new highway is where you would find the caves Andy old railway line
Totally understand where your coming from (: we’d never put them at risk if we knew it’s something we couldn’t handle 🤘 a lot of research goes into offroad tracks (:
This is the way to travel Australia. Get off the black top and drive down a road to see whats down it..
Alot of old history to be seen..

There is so much to see hey! And soooooooooo many caves! It’s such an interesting crossing (: thanks for watching 🤠
Great story guys I love your shows but I do feel you take a lot of risks with your kids.
Totally understand where your coming from (: we’d never put them at risk if we knew it’s something we couldn’t handle 🤘 a lot of research goes into offroad tracks (:
We're about to do the Nullarbor very soon! Thanks for sharing the info. How come it's taken 6 years to get to WA? Enjoy our beaches! 🩵💙👌
Bloody kids and we travel pretty slow (: see you over here! Hope you enjoy the Nullarbor (:
@elnick.adventures so do we 😂 Thank you! My Son keeps asking if we'll meet up with you. I told him you're our online travel friends haha
