Just doing a bit of catch up YT on one of our travel down days😂. We did the Holland Track in 2011. Much dryer in winter when when we did towing our camper trailer but too many fires and way to hot in summer. We played spot the puddle🤪. We are super impressed with you guys doing it in a truck because the track is tight in places too. Keep livin the dream and safe travels.
Your videos are amazing. You are naturals at this. The unfortunate thing about the Holland Track is that it's not closed over winter or when it's wet because wheel ruts created in wet conditions damage the track and create an obstacle course which spoils what meant to be a nice drive.
Love following your adventures. This video is epic. You guys seem to just take everything in your stride, laugh and have a great time doing it. Thankyou for sharing your life on the road and taking us places we would never have been able to go to.
Great couple of days driving the Holland track. So good to see that you guys were very gentle on the track to preserve it for others. Love the banter and humour of course. You guys revel in it!! So much fun.
Another very eventful trip , loved the video . We have a friend who rode a horse the full Holland Track , south to north about 10 years ago when he was 70 years old .
I first did the Holland Track nearly 30 yrs ago with a bloke called Dobbie Graham (a farmer and part time gold prospector from East Hyden. It really was a goat track back then - very hard to distinguish the overgrown track from surrounding bush. I went back about 8yrs ago and at that point it was almost a major highway (albeit a very rough) for most of its length, by comparison. I’ve been up it another two times since then and it has appeared to become more and more used each time I visit - which kind of takes the shine off the trip. It’s still an experience I would encourage people to see for themselves but for me it holds memories of bashing through the bush and taking soil samples, staking tyres, getting bogged and doing recoveries with a shovel, an axe and a kangaroo jack while working for a gold exploration company. No fancy fat tyres, sat phones, winches or diff locks.
Another awesome video guys the Holland Track is a mud swallowing pit of death when it's wet but that's why you did it for the adventure it's on my bucket 🪣 list cheers legends 😄
Seriously Good Job Guys! We just finished a weekender in the area around Hyden wave rock area - not really intending any 4X4 - just wanting to bush camp and rejuvenate after a hectic but awesome north west trip. Looked on Hema saw a "quick" 40k's on the HT from the back of Hyden to Mount Holland. Thinking how hard can this be? Sooo - Five hours later ....Our poor vehicle got absolutely trashed, flicked out of mud holes into scrub, more dents and scratches, the chicken tracks were at least as bad as the track. Mud up to the wazoo. Great experience but our rig just got a little bit more tired and dented. As you said _ " the Holland Track is not to be underestimated" when she's wet. Again - Good Job Guys. _ You Rock!
Our Canter is the same generation. That junction box at the front is the main cab to chassis connection, and it's in that location to allow the cab to be tilted for servicing. It's a good idea to seal them if planning lots of very deep water crossings. You can actually pop the grille off to get to it more easily if needed - especially on the crew cabs where tilting the cab is much more difficult. The other thing right at the front that can stop them dead in water is the drive motor for the fuel cut cable. Again, easy enough to get to for a bit of judicious waterproofing. Great fun seeing the two trucks together and we're looking forward to the next journey.
@@christophermaric5373 If fitted to your particular vehicle, the drive motor casing (which is the bit that needs sealing) will be mounted above the LHS chassis rail pretty much directly under the front passenger's footwell. If you have a single cab truck, tilt the cab and you can't miss it. If you have the 'crew cab' it's easiest to get to by removing the plastic mudguard liners on the LHS. The easiest way to waterproof it I've found is with a heavy duty plastic bag placed over the whole unit. Just make sure openings in the bag are completely sealed otherwise any water that does get into the bag won't dry out and will form condensation - the last thing you need. The other option is to carefully use sealant around the mating surfaces of the casing halves. Hope this helps.
Did the Holland track a couple of years ago, five weeks after a cyclone went through! On my own, in an old 2008 Ford Ranger dual cab. I went north to south and managed to do 130km under my belt before the first night camp. The Ranger did very well and probably one of the best camps I have ever have. I did it solo though.
OMG!! You guys are amazing!! I could not enjoy doing The Holland Track myself but it was incredible to watch. Love how the boys behave so well when you are travelling.Another awesome vid!! 👏👏

Nick, you need to turn left and right when in sticky mud to get the side biters on the tyres working to get traction. It also helps when spinning the tyres to clear the mud.
