- In this video I will be taking my first look at the Band Amon Amarth. I'll be watching 2 songs, "Saxon and Vikings" and "Guardians of Asgaard". I'll also be watching a live concert performance of "Guardians of Asgaard".

One of the best metal songs ever
The other singer on Guardians of Asgaard is Lars Petrov. I believe this was a one-off guest appearance with AA on this song. He passed away in 2021.

They aren't Viking metal. They're melodic death metal.
The Viking culture peaked highest in Sweden with over 3000 thousands of Viking Rune stones still standing out in the Landscape today, and in general a new stone is still discovered a year.

Amon Amarth is one of the rare bands that I've enjoyed every song they've ever released. I only started listening to them at the beginning of this year and quickly made my way through their entire discography. I also was lucky enough to get to see them live back in August when they opened for Ghost. And, as much as I love Ghost, I think I enjoyed A.A. more that night.

Johan is the only singer in Amon Amarth, The music video is featuring the singer from Entombed though.
Other songs worth checking out: Twilight of the Thundergod, Father of the Wolf, The Pursuit of Vikings, The Way of Vikings, First Kill, Raise Your Horns, Fafner's Gold, The Bererker at Stamford Bridge.
Another brilliant band singing about vikings is Brothers of Metal. They have 3 vocalists and a great sense of humor.

this isnt the singer of entombed, the singer alongside johann in "saxons and vikings" is Biff Byford, lead singer of Saxon

Amon Amarth is the only growling band i can listen to you actually hear what he sings :) Plus its about vikings

Amon Amarth fan..but try other viking metal band..and first album of ALL viking theme..from band Bathory album Hammerheart..then you have band TYR...then Finrir ( one man band)..

You picked the two songs with guest singers (Biff Byford from Saxon and Lars-Göran Petrov from Entombed). If you like Amon Amarth, you should check out some of the real early stuff where the guitar riffs were almost like verse melodies themselves, songs like "Bleed for Ancient Gods", "Amon Amarth", or "Last with Pagan Blood"
