Thank you for making these vlogs. We are going Portugal in April, and these will be a great resource. I know you said it doesn't matter what side of the river you stay at in Porto, does that include Gaia. I was looking at the Hilton in Gaia, and was wondering if it was too out of the way.
Thanks so much for watching, sorry for the late reply but we wanted to look it up first to see where it was. It’s approximately a 20 minute walk to the bridge. I think it’s a great location because along the river there are tons of shops, restaurants and even the Mercado is there on that side. But still walkable to cross the bridge to the town on the Centro side. Also Ubers are super cheap in Portugal if you’re tired at the end of the day. I'm headed to Portugal for 3 weeks next month. Your videos are very helpful. Do you recommend renting a car? Are the rental spots outside the city readily available? This question is relative to all of Portugal.
Hello, thank-you so much for watching. We rented at the airport in Porto and returned to the airport in Lisbon. We enjoyed the car so we could go to more remote areas. You can also train to many places if they are bigger places. It really depends on what you want to see. We found the cost not too bad for the time we were there. I know many places in the Algarve also have rentals. Try searching with expedia to see what pops up for you, plus it has free cancelation which I like to hold and do more research. Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip!

Well yes we are money savy travellers. We try to incorporate some free with some costs so we can travel longer. Always trying to find a good balance😀
