I am a graphic designer and I love playing videogames so why would I buy a PlayStation or a Switch, when I can invest in a powerfull computer that lets me play every game I like AND also runs all the programms I need to make money?

@@dani_i8942 What else would you expect from a _handheld?_ It's kind of a miracle that they got DOOM: Eternal to work on the Switch and didn't make it an interactive PowerPoint presentation. The downgrades aren't even that heavy, I expected much worse.
That said, I'm still not sure how people can play DOOM on a gamepad or, god forbid, the Switch controllers. Gotta be the worst way to do that.

This mans didn't see Doom Eternal and Half Life: Alyx coming. In the impossible alternate timeline where PC gaming is dying, Doom and Half Life would have revived PC gaming. There are so many games being released constantly by so many producers which keeps PC gaming here, but there are hundreds of other reasons why we're still here and thriving.

Indeed, I started piracy on PSX back in 1996. My buddy had modded Xbox which allowed him to copy games. Essentially making every rental from blockbuster was his ownership. Even now, my vita and PSP is a piracy machine lol.

Buying a 144Hz monitor last year was my best/worst decision.
On one hand I absolutely love playing games at 100+ fps... it just feels so smooth.
On the other hand after getting to know how 100+ fps feels like 60 fps feels so sluggish.
And sadly some games are limited to 60 fps.
Or imagine if you were forced to play on console. You’d lose your damn mind.
I don't turn my nose up at 60fps, it's satisfactory but, in saying that I do prefer when it's up over 90fps. It's much "connected", as though your inputs are coming more from your mind and less from your hands. Easier on the eyes too, my god but 30fps gives me a fucking headache…the screen judder when sweeping left and right..bleh!

Basically we spoiled ourselfs. And my Monitor was around $200 for a 27' 1080p 144hz for almost a year without any majors issues!
Used to have a Ultrawide but the Mobo failled after 10 months of owning it. I miss my Ultrawide though... It was a damn good monitor too ;c

Yes but one small thing that has been spoiling me is how crisp the textures look on PC when i do play my xbox one X on my living room tv i can so how low the textures have been set on console games shit is ugly as hell.

No, as far as I am concerned, the switch is no different to the trash of the xbox and playstation. Even if it's not the same, it still shares many of the practices that enrage me. One being exclusivity. Such a practice should have never been allowed by the public. Because seeing my favorite bounty hunter be locked away behind some parasitic "hip" machine enrages me about as much as bad ping.
Another is the online, when I played on my xbox, the fact that Halo's online was largely locked away limited the mount of fun that I could have, as at the time, my parents were the only ones that could supply such a thing. Now I could afford such a thing, but considering what's it's like to not have it and to experience the free version, HELL NO!
I'll stick to a laptop, it might be bigger, but it still offers me the freedom that no console will ever provide.

I too was too broke to get a pc during the course of this year I've been building a pc I used my birthday money and previous Christmas money as well as doing odd jobs around my area as well as walking dogs for a year and only now like 2 days ago was it finished and holy fuck was it worth it so trust me hang in there and keep working at it and it will be worth it
I'll probably get some flak for this, but I found a really good gaming laptop after a few weeks research. I learned how to build a PC, but when it came time to get parts I couldn't get the components I was looking for my price range. The gaming laptop I got ended up being exactly what I needed for the right price. Also a determining factor was I dont exactly have enough room for the desktop I want to build so Laptop was best option. I was hesitant to show my PC master-race bro my setup at first, but he was actually surprised by its performance and that it allowed for some upgrading. I would advise a cooling pad/tray however because they can get pretty warm with performance intensive games. And obviously a mouse. Lol also, I'm sure someone will reply that they could have built me a better PC for cheaper, but where were you a year ago? Lol plus space is an issue atm.

It's ironic that nowadays it seems like PC gaming is more main stream than all of the consoles. almost everyone has a laptop/pc or even the Steam deck to play games on PC.
it's probably part of the fact that almost everyone needs a laptop or a pc in life and nowadays laptops and pcs are able to run most popular games flawlessly even if they are weaker than a PS5 or Xbox series X.
