Hi. I am a Cuban, living in my country. I Thank you so much for this because I usually feel so impotent and outraged when I have to deal with the huge amount of misinformation about Cuba out there. My opinion is, all that serves the purpose of justifying and perpetuating this crazy aggression on us. The cost of the blockade has been way more than economical, but also social, moral, philosophical, political; this has really damaged a society that has decided to make social justice, human integral development and dignity and equality of opportunities a central goal; which we haven't achieved yet. I would never claim my society is perfect in any way. We do have issues to solve and things to change and improve. But this is the path we've chosen and we have the right to. I think the whole world would benefit from a good old fashion Revolution.

If you‘re honestly Cuba, tu deberías saber que gracias por Fidel y Raúl todavía tenemos bastante racismo en nuestra comunidad, como cuando Raul dijo en la mesa redonda que los “negros” ya se están poniendo en posiciones de “governar” y que están aprendiendo lentamente…..
And you would also know that in 2020 the “Gusanos” from Miami donated containers full of food to feed the Cuban people all that food ended up in hotels and not at my abuelitas table as it was promised by the revolucionarios
Yes there are sanctions but even with donations the Castro Cartel decides to sell it to tourist so they can have more money….
After the Riots in cuba 5 generals disappeared that talked against the Castro regime (they didn’t act violent but put a video on social media talking about the problems on the island and why the new generation doesn’t romanticize the revolution)

When Bolsonaro came to power he "denounced" Cuban doctors as spies (I say denounced because honestly it was a dead threat that people are going to be hurt). Cuban doctors are the kinds of doctors you would find in the hells stomach in the jungles helping indigenous people, where not even the brazilian doctors go to help. So family, friends, doctors and patients were forced away, because of how disconected the people of a country are from their state. This wasn't just doctors, diplomatic missions all over Brazil were rushed to shut down and Cuba had to withdraw aid to the people of Brazil. Consulates closed, relations cut. Such is the way of imperialism.

As i understand it, many Cuban Americans that left Cuba during the revolution are the main drive for continuing this fruitless embargo and suppression.
They lost a LOT of privately held business, infrastructure, and land, some of which are incredibly bitter about it and live in the hopes that if America ever does 'free' Cuba, that the US government will force the return of their family 'held' property.
is that true, or over embellished?

TLDR: Some do think they can get theyre land back, others are just upset about losing land in the first place, and some dont care
i only have one semi close relative in USA so i dont have much personlan experience. but yea there are anti government sentiment among many cubans who either let because of the New regime or theyre kids and grand kids. Some do belive that a New government could redistribute land back to Them but often its also a result of cubans trying to integrate and become a sort of hispanic model minority, aswell as just holding a grudge
Cubans in USAs views on the government is often based on why they moved, if they or theyre parents moved because of political reasons they care alot more and are way more critical then those that move for economic reasons

He also mentioned the literacy program that the media somehow spun to be a bad thing. Luckily, now that is changing somewhat, probably do to the fact that socialist China is too big to ignore. That’s the thing about unfettered capitalism. The first neoliberal project where truly uninhibited capitalism could take place occurred in chile in the 70s. It couldn’t occur under democratic conditions due to the left wing government and public so a military coup supported by the US had to happen and a dictatorship installed for the capitalist project to go ahead. It was never about freedom.

Cuban who left the Island in 2016, I think I can shine some light into the matter.
I usually follow and enjoy this channel, except for this video.
The US is not perfect, but at least you can speak your mind without fearing being sent to an Agricultural camp for reeducation.
The Eisenhower Administration had an embargo on Batista as well, it was not the unconditional support you mention here.
The embargo, that targets solely Military companies that administers nearly all enterprises is not the root cause of Cubas's demise. The Cuban government made its own bed by only doing business with the USSR and Nationalizing multiple industries in 1960 (which prompted the Sanctions) and now no one wants to do business with Cuba, you could lose your investment if the national government decides to expropriate the assets.
There is no widespread support for the Castro regime in Cuba (again Cuban here who left less than 5 years ago), Cubans now a day are like the Germans before the fall of the Berlin wall (my family doesn't care about ideology, they care about having the same opportunities and freedoms I enjoy in the US).
The Cuban economy was not the Juggernaut during the Golden Era of Communism as you make it look.
It's not a Blockade, It's an embargo against the military companies.
In Cuba, it was Illegal to be a Homosexual until 2009. And you were sent to a "reeducation camp to cure you of the disease". Is that because of the embargo?
In Cuba, it's Illegal to create a new party. Is that because of the embargo?
In Cuba, there was Child labor until 2013 (the Highschools would send the students age 12-15 to camps to gather and collect potatoes on average 2-3 times a year for about a full month), Is that because of the embargo?
In Cuba, It's illegal to criticize the ruling party. Is that because of the embargo?
Although, there is a Blockade in Cuba, an internal one. The Cuban Government limits the number of things you can import to the country. Is that because of the embargo?
    www.aduana.gob.cu/sites/default/files/2021-02/Libro-de-Normas-Aduaneras.pdf
In Cuba, you are forced/coerced to attend Marches for the 1st of May, 10th of October, 1st of January, I was, several times. Is that because of the embargo?
Stop Lecturing me on how life is in Cuba if you have never been there. And stop lying to these people and telling them that Cuba is all perfect and all of its problems are sole because of the Embargo.
The embargo is the best Ally the Cuban regime has. It allows them to do whatever they want to do.
