This LW needs to stop using their pull unnecessarily. With the longer cooldown now, you have to use it more sparingly. There were several times they pulled their teammates when they were either already full HP, or they were low but they could've just charged up a heal and saved them without using that cooldown.
Also this might just be me, but on attack I think it's good to plant tree on the payload so your team can move with it while getting healed.
Emongg talked about this but better petal usage. And when you have Ana as your other support you can use your petal to give them better sight lines for healing!
The problem in the metal ranks is that if you try and pre place petals teamates just constantly take them just for fun and leave you without a petal
they will stare me in the eyes as they do it too. i have to stand at the edge of my petal before i use it just in case some chum takes it from me :/
The logical play is to duo queue with the other support or a Cass or only alternatively to use petal for yourself and I've said this since LIfeweaver came out.
For some reason I find hanzo, genji, kiri all particularly love taking petals placed next to walls...
I noticed this player seems to play very reactively instead of proactively. And unfortunately, some of their reactions feel a bit delayed. Their Brig play worked out but they need to manage their packs a bit more conservatively and not bash right into the enemy team so much. That won't work if they climb. So basically be more aggressive with LW and Kiri, less aggressive with Brig.
Life weaver was the only person even trying to off angle and high ground. That soldier was middle road almost the whole game

The double-edged sword of metal rank weaver play is that you'll be yelled at if you pull a teammate you see is about to die but you'll also get yelled at for not pulling if a teammate dies. Messes with reaction time.
Also I'm pretty sure dropping the tree from petal to get a kill is fake. I've tested it with friends with no success.
It used to be real but it got patched i believe
It's also super hard to pre place petals in the metal ranks because teamate use them for funsies leaving you with no petals

of you course you had more healing playing LIFEWEAVER. Heals can only keep teammates alive for more time, if they're bad, it doesn't matter, you should more proactive with ult and abilities
I feel like his team could have avoided dying many times if he just properly charged his healing.

I've seen Emongg mention it a lot that playing the close corner on first point defense is the way to go with a rotation backwards to the back corner. This is something that bronze and silver actually get right. By sheer accident of course. This is most likely incorrect and I am not a tank main, but when I have played tank I start at the car. I give up a bit of space usually but, again it's bronze/silver, I don't feel like I get a lot done holding that corner and find I have to retreat backwards fairly quickly. It also entices teammates to hold weird angles. It's awkward to hold car at lower ranks but my teammates usually end up liking the idea and it working out decently well.
This is one of the very few spectated games where I feel they are not lying about their rank. They said they were low gold and it could pass as a low gold game. Not sure how good my advice could be considering I am a lower rank but I do consider myself a LW main. I have 34 hours on him just this season (8). And I have played a wide range of supports in the past. The comment about having more healing than your other supports suggests to me they have not played LW a ton OR they have not played many other supports. LW typically has the most healing in the lobby. The trade off is it's very hard to find value in damage, his utility is mostly selfish and his ult can be lackluster. In fact I would go so far as to say if you are the only LW in a lobby and your healing stat is not the highest out of the other 3 supports you should just swap.
Positioning is blow average to decent. And while it's always super important it's especially so on LW. The value from lifegrip is often times tied to how valuable your position is as LW. This is where I feel I personally excel. Even in games I lose I will have very low deaths if any at all. Emongg is spot on about having a petal down at the start of a fight. One of the benefits of playing LW is flankers usually have to work harder to reach you and giving your team time to respond/help. Until you make the practice a habit it's hard to talk about placement in areas and maps. And contrary to what most people think the most important stat on support is deaths. Second and third to that is elims/assist. And I know what I said earlier about the healing stat but in the grand scheme of a game it is one of the least important stats to focus on. Like, you could double or triple an Ana's healing with LW. But she will also probably have 20 times your damage - and more meaningful damage. And a single nade can often times win a fight or force the enemy to rotate at least. LW doesn't really have anything that can possibly outright win a fight or force rotations as consistently. He can be very enabling but you are at the mercy of the folks on your team you are enabling to perform.
Deserve plat? No. Whoever is telling you that is blowing smoke. Room to grow? Yes.

Random LifeWeaver tech: on 0 healing ammo, you can throw down petal and charge a blossom at the same time for an extra heal. Rarely used but may come in handy

Whoever says you have to charge to full: go on the firing range and try to keep a bot alive. Charging to full will let him die, charging to half will keep him alive. If you're out of fight, sure, but when your teammate is hanging by a threat you better not be sitting there charging heals for 3 hours
That’s what I hate about lifeweaver heals. It takes too long to do ‘good’ heals and so your only option is to spam and basically healbot.
You don't have to charge to full all the time but look at it they're not even giving half charge most the time theres so many times a character is low health and they spam a couple 20s at them and call it a day
Never play lifeweaver but it seems painful to climb with lifeweaver from what I can see here
Never really understood lifeweaver. Worse heals than a bap, almost 0 damage, and it really just feels like you have 0 impact. Super hard to catch up on heals and Bap is just way better at damaging

I guess I don't understand emongg here, because it seemed clear to me that the LW was gonna pull the Orisa, but the Bastion stood in front of him. Maybe it's because he hesitated for a split second? I would have too honestly, just to avoid what happened, him pulling bastion instead of Orisa
Even if the Bastion didn't get in the way, the Orisa would have likely died right when he pulled, so the team fight would have went the same way. I think the main issue is that this player hesitated, instead of pulling when they saw the Orisa was 1/4 health, purple, and alone on cart. In my opinion, they should have pulled the Orisa as soon as they saw her, which should allow them to regroup.
Yeah, i was confused as well, it was for sure orisa pull, and with 100% pull setting, such thing are usual

Against the Mauga Monster a LW-pick is more of a joke. You either need to kill the bully (Ana or Zen) or save or your own Mauga (Kiri)
How you can tell a top 500 player doesn't actually play Lifeweaver: 5:19 "Lifeweaver does have a lot of healing, and will, a lot of the time, have more healing than the other support"

LW is S or at least A-Tier support for a reason. His healing output is actually really good.
I'm commenting more on the counter-productivity of blanket statements regarding Lifeweaver healing a lot. He has the highest healing, on average, of every support, and yet has the lowest win rate since his launch. So highest heal, but lowest win rate.... see the problem? See how saying he has the highest healing doesn't mean anything?
Unless you're on Ilios Well or Lijiang Tower Control Center, Weaver is bad. He's potentially viable on 2 maps.
But, sure, let's just talk about his big healing numbers....
@@BattoEnstienyour opinion on LW is out of date and based on old information. he's pretty strong now - good survivability, strong play making potential/anti dive potential, the overhealth that the tree gives is huge, etc. overwatch is one of those games you really have to stay up to date with and keep up with all the patches otherwise you don't have all the most recent information on the heroes.
lol i love all of the metal/low ranks thinking they deserve a higher rank then they're at and willingly putting their gameplay out there to be judged 'cause it's super easy to point out why you're deranking/hardstuck. flanking/high ground LW making them lose the fight, ult & petal usage is mega ass, too. & thinking that more healing = i should be winning is a low ranking mindset (especially on mf LW who basically only heals at these ranks). i love the part where he chased into the enemy backlines in front of his tank & the entire team and then pulled his ana into the backlines with him because she was low instead of playing in the back and healing from there, ur not on the enemy team so don't play like you are & the fact that this is considered their 'best show'... homies in gold for a reason.
