I was looking for a simple wheel mod to make my black rims pop a little. I think this is perfect! Does it stand the test of the elements? As long as it can last at least a year, I wouldn't mind re-doing it once a year if needed.
Yes, it has held up really well. Make sure to clean the wheel really well before applying. Also, don't blast it with a pressure washer or anything. 😂 Hand wash the car and wheels. Be nice to your car. 😂

I was just looking for more tape of some kind to put on my car to help make it more visible at night. It’s a black Honda Civic and I do deliveries at night. Just was thinking of where and what tape would be good. How does it hold up in rainy weather?
That's very smart of you. Great idea. So far it has held up very well. The downside is not being able to run the car through the automated car washes with the spinning brushes. I think it might stand up to it once in awhile but I want to make them last as long as possible. At $35 or so, it wouldn't be the end of the world to have to replace them once every year though.

I watched your video and I like how it turned out so I ordered them and I got them in the mail today and when I open the package there's only two pieces of paper how's that going to do for tires because in your video it's sewed you did all four tires
I believe mine was the same. There are enough strips on both pages to cover all 4 wheels. They come in different sizes so if you have a 18" wheel, you will need to order the 18" package so the curvature is correct and there's enough material.
@@edwardlthompson okay I hope so because it came with two sheets and one sheet says 22 inch rims only that one has 13 strips on the sheet and the other sheets says 15 inch rims and that one also has 13 strips so I'm hoping those two sheets combined will do all four tires because I thought when I watched your video you use five strips of the big ones on one tire and that's what made me think that I wouldn't have enough but I'm still going to try tomorrow and put them on so I'll give you an update because you've been taking time to respond back thank you
Why wouldn't they be? Every semi truck, construction vehicle, and emergency vehicle has reflective markings. It is not a light, only reflective safety tape. If you live in a place where that is illegal, you certainly don't live in a free country. 😂

That's dope that you got the rim tape. All you need is an LED light, even from your camera but better a flash light so you can stand some distance back and trigger the reflections.

I can't imagine it would be. If it is, maybe it's time to find a place with more freedom. 😂 Trucks, trailers, construction, commercial vehicles, and emergency vehicles all have reflective strips. I can't imagine reflective tape on your wheels would be problematic.

1: how bad driver u have to be to own wheels like these 🥴 2: The wheel isn't clean (washed or not) you should clean it like alcohol or something 3: that tape won't stick to that uneven surface..so it's going to fly off when it rains..and i think you allready know all this because this was posted 3 years ago
I purchased those wheels in that condition for very cheap as I could not afford anything better. I did run a microfiber cloth around the lip of the wheel before applying the stickers. The tape stuck to the uneven surface and even made it through a few car washes. I ended up selling the car before moving to Puerto Rico. At the time I sold the car, all the stickers were in perfect condition. I have nothing to gain or lose by telling you any of this information other than to let you know that your assumptions are incorrect.
If you wash your car by hand, it will never be an issue. That said, both cars have passed through an automated car was with the spinning brushes and none of the stickers came off.

@@diegoayala1726 not that I'm aware of. Commercial vehicles are covered in reflective tape. Next time you see a truck and trailer, note that the trailer has red and white reflective tape across the back.

Yeah, it's not much different than putting your phone on a mount and using it for navigation. If you're using either device to watch videos while you are driving, I wouldn't be surprised if you get a ticket for distracted driving. 😂

That's just the reflector in the light housing. Most light housings have a built in reflector.
Can these be installed on hubcaps/wheel covers or are they for rims only?
Absolutely you could use them on hubcaps. They just need a flat, clean surface to adhere to.
So if I got some for 16” motorcycle rim and have extra to stretch would it look off for me to apply them to my 21” front rim??
I think that would work. They are cut to fit wheels 16"-19" in diameter but the strips are flexible and could probably be bent to fit a 21" wheel.
