But as I'm a fan of Johnny's I thought I'd give these two videos a chance and I have the greatest of admiration for the Tim behind the Shmee - a hard working, driven and intelligent guy. Thanks Johnny. 😊
Top job Jonny as ever. I still don't think I can ever come to terms with the 'Shmee' persona, but totally appreciate and understand that it is an image and brand that has been cultivated and developed and is what keeps the whole machine running. Tim the guy however, is an altogether different being: a really sound bloke whom I'd be happy to have a pint with - one who very much deserves his success and I genuinely wish him the best in getting that AMG One. Cheers!

I don’t have a problem with Shmee, i really enjoy his videos, he’s always answering questions in the comment section, always respectful. I can separate Shmee from Tim, because I’ve been following him for so long and i really don’t understand the hate he gets, I really did not know it was so much, had no ideia, he is the best at what he does, there’s people with different styles, of course, that I like even more, but he is the best, I’ve never finished a Shmee150 video wondering something, I’ve always knew everything I had to know by that point, even if I already knew the car. And Tim, as a person, is different, obviously, great chap and one that does what he does for love, he loves his job and what’s not to love about, hard as it is. Great insight on this video.
Just finished watching both videos after reading some vey harsh comments… people are strange. Great interview, as always, and great interaction between you two. Thanks!!
I've loved this two-parter. Have a new found respect for Tim and his work ethic. One of the most passionate, knowledgeable car guys I've seen and a man with a plan 👍
I don't like shmee but someone in the comments said they would watch it and then form a opinion so I did the same. Tim is a real nice guy and I enjoyed the videos 👍
Excellent video. I’ve dipped in and out of Tim’s content over the years. Particularly enjoyed his EV real world experiences of late. Glad you did this interview.
It's now quite a while I am following Shmee150 with some time off, to be honest, when I was tired that every new video was always starting with 'I bought a new...'. That's when you watch the channel with your mindset of being a normal guy (not a jaelous one) who would enjoy so much only one of his cars, not understanding the business behind the whole being selling process. When you adapt the mindset and start to understand, it's when I started to appreciate Shmee. Recently when he started the Shmuseum dedicated channel, it's a different version of Shmee / Tim that we can meet, and it's a different format, that I enjoyed even better. Now with these two videos it's no longer Shmee that we have seen, it's more Tim. And it gives more understanding on the guy and on the business. Very good videos by the way. You have a new subscriber.
If I could take anything out of the garage it would be the Sega Rally arcade machine. Tim is awesome. Jonny is awesome. The channel is awesome. Everything is awesome.
I’ve watched the occasional Schmee video, away from his schmee persona Tim is a really smart interesting man, good luck to him doing something he clearly loves. excellent video.

Please keep doing these, I look forwards to every episode coming out and I catch them when I’ve got a chance. Nice to see loads of other people enjoying them as well.
Thoroughly enjoyed this content Johnny. Thanks for creating this insight. It revealed Tim in a whole new light to me and helped me appreciate how much effort you guys put into entertaining us. Bravo. I truly hope you might be able to do more along similar lines with other car TH-cam content creators. Nice one 👍
Yeah, you’re right. But from various TH-camrs and what they’ve said once it becomes “their job”, is that it takes a lot of work and a lot of dedication to get to the point when they earn enough money for them to get to basically sack their proper job off and solely rely on their earnings from TH-cam, and even then it’s not a given.
His dad owning Burtons menswear and then selling it for £25 million probably had something to do with his ‘success’ 🙃 you think he bought his first Lambo as a ski instructor?

I have the great pleasure of knowing Tim directly and he's every bit a gentleman in real life as he is here. He's dedicated, beyond hard working and deserves the success. I suspect that Jonny may be feeling slightly vulnerable in not being able to match the quantity of material that Shmee produces. I hate the amount of sheer hate Tim gets, like why? His collection is unique, he actually puts miles on his cars and he’s a walking car encyclopaedia! He’s such a chill guy off camera I was lucky enough to meet him at FOS couple of weeks back he’s a great guy! Sure he’s very energetic on camera but so what? I will invite him to my car garage maybe the next time he does another US tour he's awesome!
I dislike Tims content, kind of snobby presentation and not much information nor objectively about the cars he drives. This interview is soo much better then his own (sponsored) content. Other than that seems like a nice bloke with a good taste in collecting cars. Dont know why he gets hate, probably jealousy.
Would be very interested to hear what Jonny thinks about the work of the Bad Obsession chaps and their ‘Project Binky’… An idol chat with those two would be magic. Where’s the request box?!
Good video, enjoyed both. I'm a big Shmee fan and watch most of his videos. Couldn't help but notice that one of your cameras presents a vivid, clear image and the other one is like the lens is dirty or hazy. And yes, the sound is very low.
What a great video! Another well done show and was so good to get some behind the scenes info from Tim, seems like a great guy! Really glad your channel is growing, keep pushing my friend! Much love and respect !
Love the stories and the absolutely gorgeous cars. You can tell he loves and cherishes them. What more could you want from a gear head? He has great taste, that is for sure.

Finally managed to catch up with both videos, proper job again Jonny, really insightful interview with a genuinely interesting guy. I have never watched any of his videos, yet, I am clearly in a minority but Tim seems to be a pretty switched on cookie when it comes to the higher end of the automotive spectrum. I'm just off to watch a bit of Shmee150 to see what all the 'who-ha' is about this chap.
I used to follow Shmee when he used to keep a single car for a while and it was really exciting to see what he would get next. Then he started buying a new car every other day and the charm was lost. But I guess it makes sense now that he has a museum and he’s in a fortunate enough position to buy what he wants when he wants.
I admit that I wasn't sure about Shmee to begin with but I'm now a big fan..... he's brutally honest without being insulting. He obviously loves what he does and it shows. More power to you Tim (pun intended)
I have to say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this video. Tim is obviously a very clever businessman, and listening to him speak as himself has changed my opinion. Good luck to the guy 👍
Top work as usual 👏🏾 while shmee150 may not be my cup of tea 'tim Burton' is genuine car guy, who is insightful and some one I'd be happy have a drink with a chat cars. Enjoyed knowing little more about him where he's coming from. I get shmee is brand he's a man with a plan a wish him well with it.
The DVLA does hold back certain number plates if they accidentally contain rude words. I’m pretty sure that involved holding back all SH17 number plates. He mentioned in a video he couldn’t get SH69 MEE either because it was held back.
Great video, just would ask you to crank up a bit the volume. Even at 100% volume it is a bit difficult to listen as soon as the ambient gets a bit noisy, specially when shmee talks.
I imagine down the line Tim will sell his brand for gazillions, and then bugger off to Monaco to pour over his spreadsheets. Nice to see the other side of the Shmee phenomena though. Great interview Jonny, keep up the good work mate.
I watched this and found it interesting and insightful but then re-watched the Chris Harris interview and that delivered the buzz I usually get with a LBS video.
Fascinating two parter. Hats off to him for making it work...everyone talks of his work ethic (which is impressive) but the boy isn't messing about. he's invested some large sums of money. large stones :D
He’s always been a TH-camr who I’ve always watched and he’s always kept himself to himself and I can watch his videos all day. Well done Tim and great video Jonny 👍.
After watching both videos, i must say I really like Tim. Different guy from Shmee in my mind. Very interesting to get this side of him. Nice job Johnny!
These two videos are superb Jonny... Like many, I can see the work and dedication that goes into the Shmee videos... But.. But... I have been watching less and less Shmee lately, but I could listen to Tim all day... You're a good man Tim, hard working, dedicated, focused. Deserve your success... I just struggle a bit with your alter ego .. No offence meant Tim..
Another great piece, and it has cemented my recently changed opinion of Shmee as a thoroughly decent bloke. However, I had to turn my volume up significantly to hear everything clearly, and it's not the first time on an LBS video that the volume's been a little bit off. Do you do level checks? As I found the Idol Chat much louder.
Almost didn't watch this as I can't abide the Shmee videos. I wonder why Tim presents them as he does because he's a perfectly agreeable chap? Very glad I braved it.
Just watched both episodes back to back, the more I watched the more I enjoyed I’ve also just found out (via google) that I’m only 4 days older than Tim, which is sounds odd but it’s also just made me realize how little I have achieved in life 😂 I need to pull my finger out and work something out Thanks for great content keep it up
I'm bitterly disappointed you two didn't race each other on Tims Sega Rally Arcade machine. My question is If Jonny had first pick would it be the Martini Lancia Delta or the Castrol Toyota Celica ?
This guy must have f*** you money with that collection. I often wonder how people afford their collections, I wish Johnny would ask them so I could do it too!
I think the fact Tim has taken just about every car he owns around the Nurburgring should be a hint to people that he isn't the poser they think he is. His passion and knowledge is next level which is why it frustrates me to see a lot of people write him off immediately. In reality any Late Brake Show viewer would happily chat cars with Tim at the pub for hours if they didn't have this per-conceived idea of him. Thanks to Jonny and the team for helping people see the other side of the Shmee coin.
I can say i now own 2 of the same cars as Tim. I have the gt4 and just got my Taycan Friday....now to start working my way up to the GT lol. I have to stay on the lesser priced cars for now whilst in my 20s, so i guess a yaris is next haha...wish that focus was sold in the U.S. though. I really do love Astons and you can find them fairly inexpensive so maybe that could be next with a little hard work...congrats on getting your old aston back tim
From SSC - "We have seen your questions for months now and understand your frustrations. If it hasn’t been made clear up to this point, we would like to acknowledge officially that we did not reach the originally claimed speeds of 331 MPH or even 301 MPH in October of 2020. We were truly heartbroken as a company to learn that we did not reach this feat, and we are in an ongoing effort to break the 300 MPH barrier transparently, officially, and undoubtedly." - July 2021
Cant stand the ‘fakeness’ of the Shmee character, but this was brilliant. Tim seems a likeable person but clearly based on numbers I am in the minority and that doesn’t grow the business.
I love Schmee’s content and his tech knowledge, I just wish it was Tim Burton presenting it. Still enthusiastic but just toned down a gnats cock, same applies to Seen Through Glass. The caffeine type presenting just grates a bit. 🏎💨

But I guess it makes sense now that he has a museum and he’s in a fortunate enough position to buy what he wants when he wants.
@freepieanchipsgarage its a MUesem Listening is a skill
@Dominick i have watched where is the charm gone!
I admit that I wasn't sure about Shmee to begin with but I'm now a big fan..... he's brutally honest without being insulting. He obviously loves what he does and it shows. More power to you Tim (pun intended)
Excellent stuff Johnny, great video as always. 👌 if I had to choose a 2 car garage out of the SHMEE mobiles, I’d take the GT4 and the Heritage RS.
I have to say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this video. Tim is obviously a very clever businessman, and listening to him speak as himself has changed my opinion. Good luck to the guy 👍
Nicely done Johnny. These garage tours are some of your best content.
This video was a game changer for me ,my opinion of the fella has changed his knowledge is exceptional hard working dude who enjoys nice cars 👍
Loved this interview, some lovely cars there. Love all the numberplates, but does SH17 MEE exist?
The DVLA does hold back certain number plates if they accidentally contain rude words. I’m pretty sure that involved holding back all SH17 number plates. He mentioned in a video he couldn’t get SH69 MEE either because it was held back.
Great to see the Shmee collection and Tim being interviewed.
Fantastic watch, I have always been a fan of Tim/Shmee and his work ethic. But this has increased my respect for him 100%
Great video, just would ask you to crank up a bit the volume.
Focus as tribute to 1968 car on a SH68 plate
GT on a SH66 plate because LeMans.
I like his attention to detail.
Each of his plates also has a famous quote on them, for example the senna has a quote from aryton senna
I watched this and found it interesting and insightful but then re-watched the Chris Harris interview and that delivered the buzz I usually get with a LBS video.
Weird comment but ok
Fascinating two parter. Hats off to him for making it work...everyone talks of his work ethic (which is impressive) but the boy isn't messing about. he's invested some large sums of money. large stones :D
Nice one! What a great collection!!!
He’s always been a TH-camr who I’ve always watched and he’s always kept himself to himself and I can watch his videos all day.
Well done Tim and great video Jonny 👍.
That ice blue Aston looked very yummy! Congrats to Shmee for all his hard work, and his very nice collection of vehicles.
Top interview, adult conversation a real pleasure.
Gotta love the sega rally in the background.
How much money that you waste when you are young.
@@niknajib9514 A lot. But I was pretty good at it so that justifies it for me.
@@andy00grant when you spent lot of money, you are the best 😅 rather than spending time for 1 minutes and game over.
That Castrol livery on the GR Yaris made so excited! That was my era and any Toyota with a Castrol or Marlboro livery is a special machine
Almost didn't watch this as I can't abide the Shmee videos. I wonder why Tim presents them as he does because he's a perfectly agreeable chap? Very glad I braved it.
Really enjoy hearing Tim on this kind of videos and podcasts, always very interesting. Thanks for the video !
Very nice. I have a new appreciation for the man behind schmee. Good on Tim for what he has achieved.
Just watched both episodes back to back, the more I watched the more I enjoyed I’ve also just found out (via google) that I’m only 4 days older than Tim, which is sounds odd but it’s also just made me realize how little I have achieved in life 😂 I need to pull my finger out and work something out
Thanks for great content keep it up
What an amazing collection and what a nice guy!! Thanks Jonny!! :)
Awesome visit, thank you.
I'm bitterly disappointed you two didn't race each other on Tims Sega Rally Arcade machine. My question is If Jonny had first pick would it be the Martini Lancia Delta or the Castrol Toyota Celica ?
Sadly it had broken down the week before, but I will return for a 16 bit battle.
@@TheLateBrakeShow Ahh that's a shame, hopefully he gets it fixed soon. When he does could you borrow it for TLBS tour? Just asking for a friend...
This guy must have f*** you money with that collection. I often wonder how people afford their collections, I wish Johnny would ask them so I could do it too!
Great video and it's nice to hear Tim explain every car.
Nice part 2 Jonny, although I already know the Shmee mobiles because I have been following Tim for a few years.
Is the McLaren Senna not classed as a Hypercar?
Two down to earth guys top video Mr Smith
I think the fact Tim has taken just about every car he owns around the Nurburgring should be a hint to people that he isn't the poser they think he is. His passion and knowledge is next level which is why it frustrates me to see a lot of people write him off immediately. In reality any Late Brake Show viewer would happily chat cars with Tim at the pub for hours if they didn't have this per-conceived idea of him. Thanks to Jonny and the team for helping people see the other side of the Shmee coin.
I really wish we could have a second channel from Tim where he talks candidly and without a script.
Just when I thought l could not be any more jealous.......Sega rally arcade cabinet!!! ;)
"Shmee" reminds me of when a malfunctioning Kryten was trying to say Smeg-head in Red Dwarf
No Allegro? Man hasn't lived :)
Tim- a man who knows what works and what he likes. Nothing wishy washey here. Enjoyable vid.
Both theses videos are really good. Shmee is very different in tone here, which is a good sign for an interview. Interesting.
Tim seems a likeable person but clearly based on numbers I am in the minority and that doesn’t grow the business.
what do you mean by “ that doesn’t grow the business “ ?
@@gabrielgabes5074 I think he's referring to that the "shmee150" haters don't grow the business
@@jonathanharvey2156 I see, in that case, if it is that, it’s true.
I love Schmee’s content and his tech knowledge, I just wish it was Tim Burton presenting it. Still enthusiastic but just toned down a gnats cock, same applies to Seen Through Glass. The caffeine type presenting just grates a bit. 🏎💨
unfortunately, most audiences (younger ones, i guess) like the crazy high energy approach.
@@focus550 agreed I was going to say USA and the youth, it’s fair enough the contents great I’m just a bit more toned down
@@ChrisPlow i'm the same. I like the geeky stats and want to 'understand' the car, as emotion is a personal thing. And it's easy to tell the difference between someone who is genuinely enjoying themselves, vs someone trying to convey they're enjoying something they're not
Brilliant, Really enjoyed that. Am a fan of Tim and was great to see a slightly more relaxed chat about his cars and the reasons s for them.
So clean explanation
Tim you clearly work hard I enjoy your content. 👍
