    Thank you again folks...this channel would not be growing if it wasn't for the active subs that comment, chat, and share. I announce the winner of the lure at the end of this video so at the very least skip to the end and congratulate the winner. I always struggle with how much or how little of the technical stuff to include in the vid. I know for lots of you it can be a bit off putting. Let me know when i go overboard and need to pull back a bit. Cheers.

      @@EngineeredAngler I am not complaining about the amount of information you apply to lure making. If necessary, I'll replay, pause, and research until I get a grasp on it. Great video. Retired engineer here. Do you ever use in-line single hooks instead of treble hooks? It seems like they reduce drag in water and during the cast. When I buy a new lure I generally replace the treble hooks with singles, but after watching your videos, I am sure that this changes the balance and buoyancy. Would be best to design with single hooks from the start.

    Could you get a similar effect with more noise by using smaller bearings or BBs? Or maybe a harder plastic for the tube instead of a straw, for more sound? It seems like you could get the long cast function and also make noise like a Rattletrap with your idea and a couple tweaks.

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The smaller the balls the less weight per volume they take up. And the farther the last one is from the magnet therefore it won't stay around. Larger balls work best.

    Hi,Franco, I have a question maybe can be the question of the week. I hope. 😊.
    The question is about the hooks bend out. Hooks is one part the system on lure. Why that hooks can bend out? I hope you can explained physics behind hook easy bend out. This question come from when fishing for get a bite we need match the bait size, often is small one but the target fish is big and hook is bend. How to handle the situation as we lure designer to make good system when this case happen. Bait is small but the target is big. Thank you.

  • @TomasJanicek

    What a great idea. ❤ Can I ask about the diameter of balls (did you use 3 balls) and size of the magnet. I seem to have issues keeping balls forward. Only 1 stays.

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1/4 inch balls, Not all magnets are created equal. Some of the small rare Earth magnets aren't very strong. Sometimes you have to stack 2 together to make it work.

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Franco, Thanks for another great video. I'd like to ask if the steel balls release from the magnet, moving backwards internally in the lure, during the initial acceleration as you make the cast? Or do you need to take the lure in your hand and shake them free from the magnet before each cast? Keep the videos coming... love your logic and enthusiasm!

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The acceleration during the cast snaps the balls to the tail ( you can hear them) and gives the lure a longer flightt

    Hi, it's good to see that you embrace the dark side, by that I mean you use metric weights & measures. To do some of those calculations in inches & ounces would have left a lot of room for error. I know it's not popular over there (only another 336 million to go) but maybe one day you'll all finally adopt metric... What am I saying, it'll never happen.
