    Super cool build!! And so many possibilities. I'm a lure maker as well and this type of lure could be extremely shiny and reflective with foil and or glitter😊

    Your intro mention this being your 4th transparent lure. Each one has had unique elements in their design, a few had smallish issues, but they were beautiful and functional. Since seeing your initial concept, I believe I've seen about four other TH-cam lure makers copy your efforts. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so, you are being paid a lot of compliments.
    I really appreciated your answer to the question of the day. I made 89 lures to donate to a charity and have been concerned about if they'll all perform as well as the two prototype lures I tested. If manufacturers don't hit 100% of the time, I'm not as concerned about mine. Guess I can make a couple more if there are any duds.
    Thanks for another great video Franco!

    I really love the information you share in your builds. I have learned so much about weight distribution and the turbulence the lure must have to cause to run right. I had planned on building a lipless as my next build and this video helped me so much in deciding on a design. I was thinking about making the top of the lure wider in the front than the back to maybe get more wiggle. However, I haven’t made a lipless to even know if that would do anything. Thank you for the videos. I really like the way you make your videos real and not miss leading in any way. By the way, I love the polycarbonate lures you make.

    My favorite lipless crank was a floating one. I would crank it down and then it would very slowly float up to the surface. I caught so many bass on it. Lost it a few years back. Maybe I should make another one.

    One of my favorites is a floating rat-l-trap reeled slowly over submerged vegetation ,you could probably make it the same way but make the opening in the center pieces more out to the perimeter and use thinner lexan for the sides and use hard plastic bbs for the shot.have you put any more thought into making a hollow top water frog? Anyway love ya man and keep it coming

    Cracking bait that, the rattle at the end was epic 👍 how long did that under arm spin cast take you to master? Very cool 😎 man!
    I wonder if you could make a bigger version of that bait but hollowed out somehow and fill it with expanding foam, that would be an interesting build.
    Anyway I have a challenge for you if you're up for it, it's a little off the norm but how about a video making 2 baits side by side, a Picasso trigger fish crank bait & a jointed clown trigger fish swim bait, colors are awesome... would luv too see that video franco & how they both fish at the end 👍👍
    Keep it up man, brilliant videos & information you share!!

    • @rider660r
      @rider660r ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That cast isn't hard at all really.
      I been using casters since the 80's.I didn't try to go out and "learn" it,I just caught myself doing it one day when I didn't have much room to cast. I'll also do it with spinners but I'm working on phasing out my spinners for nothing but casters.
      I do another cast where you twirl the lure clockwise or counterclockwise depending if you want to cast left or right and don't have the room to do it normally. You can also do this method to cast under things like fallen logs,docks,etc. but it does take some time to get proficient with it. Then you can use this type of cast to cast forwards if you twirl the bait just straight out. This takes quite a bit more practice over the prior one I mentioned as you can not twirl it straight out from the rod,it has to be off center and your lure is going to go that way also so you have to learn to compensate for that too.

In this one you mention low and forward. Could you talk about this more as it seems contradictory. Also did you ever show the making of your Flea lipless crankbait? Hi, I’ve been following your videos with great interest and for the past two years I’ve started lrf fishing in Greece. About a year ago I started making my own lure out of wood,I’ve had success ,they swim with all the necessary wobbling and I’ve had strikes but I have a problem with the casting . My rods are diawa very 1 - 10 gr and my lures are within the 4 - 6 7 and 8 grams when casting they tend to turn sideways and as a result my casting distance in dramatically reduced compared to similar weight commercial lures if it’s possible some advice on what could be causing this would be much appreciated,as a mechanical engineer I do my math on making my lures but casting is a failure keep your videos coming they are incredibly interesting I thank you in advance

    I have a question that could be worthy of answering on video for everyone. Couldn't you put several line ties in different spots and make a lure that has different actions depending on where you tie them on? It might be fun to try to design a lure that you can use a few different ways just by tying on closer to the front or farther back so it affects how it "digs" or maybe by tying on the front it would run shallower. I hope I'm explaining my question and idea right. If you want to use it feel free to reword it. The lure in the video might even work for experimenting.

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm pretty sure a bass couldn't resist a mouse swimming across the surface. I remember trying soft plastics and hard plastics on bass I could see in a pond. I was a kid. The fish wouldn't touch anything artificial I tried. I put on a live lizard and as soon as it hit the water and swam a couple inches the whole school of little bass went after it and I caught 1. Another time the same thing happened with a live dragonfly. That was all in Florida growing up.
      Recently I saw a bunch of water snakes at Lake Norman State Park and a few small ones swimming around the edges got hit by something, probably bass. Nobody was catching fish with lures from the bank and I wanted a good snake imitation because I won't kill a live one for bait (or any reason).
      Anyway, if you could get a mouse lure to swim like a real mouse it should be awesome.

    Do you still have copies of your blue engineering lure drawings? The reason I ask I think they would make a very cool collage poster of all the lures you have made, plus it would make a great reference for us, the viewers, to try and wet our feet by duplicating your work from the original drawings.
    Just a though. Let me know what you think?

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like your idea. Unfortunately most of the drawings for the videos I do by hand, and I do that because I think it's less intimidating, more accessible than a CAD drawing. But ironically the hand drawings get distroid in the process and are not accessible to anyone. I plan to produce a set of drawings and instructions for a few of my favorite lures and offer them up for a very small price. That's the plan....
