  • I filmed how I ply merino wool yarn on my Wee Peggy spinning wheel for my friend Linda Baldwin. She wanted to see how the plying went from the singles on the built in lazy kate to go up into the bobbin. She is looking at getting a wheel like this. Mine is a Wee Peggy from the 1970s made by John Rappard, before he sold his patent off to Ashford, down in New Zealand.

Thankyou! I've always been having trouble with my tension on my Wee Peggy and was over spinning. This was incredibly helpful. Happy spinning!😍🇦🇺❤

I will have to take the time to film it more often. It is a really fun little spinning wheel. I take it along with us camping too!

I really like this little spinning wheel I bought it many years ago and had it shipped here from New Zealand. It's so lightweight and portable that I can take a long when we go camping in our motorhome.

That wheel really looks like an ideal combination of spinning capability, compactness and good looks. (The capability might tend more to the fine to medium range of yarns, rather than the really chunky but if you're like me, that's not something you are going to miss.)

Yes, I like the fine yarns for knitting socks. I don't do a lot of knitting with chunky yarns anyhow. But I do have another wheel that I am capable of doing big thick chunky bumpy stuff with if I want. I guess I'm just stingy and want my wool roving to go as far as possible and not use it up fast and thick yarn. Lol! A true fiberholic.

I would really love to get a wee Peggy ! I can’t seem to find one any where! Is there a good place to look to find one ?

Nancy's Graceful Fibres in Yorkshire. If she doesn't have one listed in the spinning wheel section, ask her. She has always come through for me.
