      I’m a little confused. Is each vocal warm-up 10 minutes? Or it’ll be a total of 10 minutes if we do each vocal warm-up one time. Also I’m sorry if there might be errors in my grammar. I am visually impaired and use dictation to type. Thank you for reading.

      Yes, it is! my range is from B flat 2 to F 5. On many warm-ups for female voices I have to drop down an octave when the exercises go up to high, and they don't go low enough for me to cover all my range.

    Second. Edit: Odd question... My voice actually feel more relaxed when singing the female voice warmup... 🤣 My voice type is tenor. Should I use female warm up or male warm up 😅
    Edit 2: Ok nvm ^ only applies to the first exercise... the female warmup is definitely more taxing for the later exercises xD
    Edit 3: I’m sitting on the fence 🤣 some exercises are ‘easier’ in the male warm up. Some are ‘easier’ on the female side. Why can’t my voice just choose a side 😣🤦

      @DrDanRobinson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting!

    • @redeemedcoops
      @redeemedcoops 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could it be because those later exercises are start with F? I too am a tenor, so on the 5th and 6th exercises I start on F3 like Dr Dan, but after about 4 or 5 steps I jump down the octave and sing from C3 to C4 and finish out the exercises down there in my chest voice. Does that make sense? Does that help?

    Really a huge huge thanks...I have to say in India we really donot have teachers who really can help me to teach these type of contemporary singing style that's why I am completely dependent on internet.i had gone through different different vocal coaches to learn what appropriate to for my voice but nothing satisfied.if somehow I find something it's somewhat boring.but yesterday I find this channel and let me tell you I am now addicted to you and your teaching.its interesting from everyway even your exercises...so really thanks for being in TH-cam...lots of love form india.and now I am officially a TH-cam student of yours..❤️❤️❤️❤️

    I did this warm up this morning for the first time, but I quickly found it leaving my vocal range behind. I'm a baritone (I'm pretty sure), and the scales in the first half were all in the upper half of my range, in mixed/head voice, but they were singable. But when I got to the second half after the breathing section, the scales quickly became too high for me. Should I have started the whole warm-up an octave lower than you so that I could ascend the whole way through? Or should I start in the same place as you and just transition to the octave lower when the scales start to go above my range?

    • @DrDanRobinson
      @DrDanRobinson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Will, you could try starting an octave lower...or you could try using the Female version, and sing along with it an octave lower.

    HELP! You know the firetruck exercise. I was able to do that super easily and get to my high notes easily. Now a year later (keep in mind I kept singing and practicing) I looked back at my video of my singing my high notes super easily and then I did it again and I went down quite a few notes and when I try to get to my high note I strain and I cant do them freely anymore. Any tips?

    Love the exercises but some things bothered me the first time I tried them! For many of the exercises the visuals aren't timed with the music, so they get distracting. Also the sirens are barely audible over the background music, so it's pretty hard to follow the pitch. Do you have other videos specifically about that exercise? It's clearly the trickiest one and some days I struggle to glide all the way up

    Moin Moin, ich bin gerade über Ihre Videos gestolpert und finde sie sehr äußerst hilfreich. Allerdings würde ich gerne eine negative Erfahrung rückmelden: Die Übung "Inhale Exhale" hatte mich in diesem Video leider völlig aus dem Konzept gebracht. Ich habe diese Übung möglichst vorsichtig gemacht und natürlich, wie ich das gelernt habe, in den Bauch und nicht in die Brust geatmet. Dennoch habe ich schmerzen im Brustkorb zusammen mit Schwindel und dem sehr beunruhigenden Gefühl, meine Atmung nicht mehr kontrollieren zu können bekommen und musste dementsprechend meine Singübungen für heute leider abbrechen. Ich würde mich sehr darüber freuen, wenn sie diesbezüglich einen Ratschlag hätten, besonders da ich es nicht ausschließen würde, dass es auch anderen bei dieser Übung so gehen könnte. Ansonsten finde ich Ihre Videos, wie gesagt, sehr Hilfreich und werde auf jeden Fall hin und wieder auf Ihrem Kanal vorbeischauen.
    Viele Grüße,
    Jonathan

    Is anyone else really struggling on the ascending and descending "yah" exercise? As with the previous exercise, I'm starting on F3 and jumping back down to B2 after the Bb3 scale.
    When I'm singing a song, I can very comfortably access my upper register, but I'm having an extremely difficult time doing that here. Is that because its stepwise movement between the upper and lower register? Everything past G4 is SUPER whiny and gross, and there's really bad tension in my throat. But as soon as I relax my throat, my voice breaks or my pitch goes nuts - meanwhile, if I just sing that high note (a Bb4, for instance), I can sustain it with good tone and even comfortably descend from it.
    So my upper register is only breaking down in the context of this exercise... does that make sense, and is there a reason / solution for this problem? Too much breath or tension or something?

    • @redeemedcoops
      @redeemedcoops 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Update - feels a bit better today. Focusing on 1) eliminating tension 2) supplying good air from diaphragm and being sure not to use too much air in the upper register.
      Can anyone guess where I found those tips? Haha, thanks Dr. Dan for all these resources!

    the piano is hardly distinguishable in the mix, and the note placement is kinda awkward for anyone other than tenor. too taxing for a baritone, makes me more tense than i'd be before this warm-up...
